@@FCV0511 wow, it looks like MOPAR turned the Monaco and Fury into something similar to the Crown Vic in the 2000s, a specific car for the police, since this body looks a bit anachronistic for the 80s
1:12 I love that Plymouth Reliant. Note the silver-painted bumpers and black rub strips, all those were normally body-colored on retail K-Cars but this is a special fleet color. The many, many Air Force dark blue and Army pale green ones were the same way. I wonder how the normally-body-color grille bits on a Dodge Aries would've been treated. I think the blue wheels aren't how Ma Mopar delivered it though!
I am not American and nor do I know the models of the cars but one thing I do know, the American shows I loved as a kid that were shown in the UK and Even Germany had these, I think all old American cars are so awesome but especially the police ones! I guess though I love all old British cars and German too but nah, nothing beats one of these old American police cars. I would love to own one!

1:12 I'm sorry, but can't accept THAT car to be a vintage NYPD unit. Looks like it was just dragged out of the scrapyard and painted the colors. Just seems to be out of place.
It's accurate - the NYPD did use Chrysler K-cars in the early eighties. They were shortlived since they didn't hold up well at all, but the city was experimenting with various emissions and cost-cutting approaches at the time. i.redd.it/2xcwz5j67m7b1.jpg i.pinimg.com/originals/72/02/e8/7202e83175e05efebe084ea07f8aed08.jpg
The NYPD did use marked Chrysler K-cars for a short period in the 1980s - the city was trying to save money and use less gasoline. They unsurprisingly didn't hold up well at all and weren't particularly well liked by officers assigned to them.
I mentioned it in its' own comment but it does have the correct silver bumper covers and black rub strips for a car delivered new in a special-order fleet color.
The old us police cruisers have such a nice vibe and are so beautiful.
Agreed!
0:53 NAH, THE CHRYSLER THO??
Back in the days when NYPD meant something!😮
I still have the utmost respect for the NYPD! Thank the DA for the fact that criminals aren’t prosecuted here.
Yeah, ok boomer 😂
Great video! I'm especially fond of the Plymouth Gran Furys followed by the boxy Chevy Caprice starting at 1:33.
Thanks! They are cool-all were a treat to see!
Me too! The backbone of NYPD cruisers in the 80s and early 90s.
1:03 oh Lord, the 75 Coronet 😍
These were a real treat to see, and not something we realized we’d find that day!
That's a 1977-1978 Plymouth Fury.

Cool, didn’t know that about the bumpers!
Les anciennes voitures de police US sont tellement belles ❤❤❤
C’est vrai!
Super Fantastic!!!

None of the brown TRAFFIC patrol cars?
Not unless we missed something!
@@TripleJFirethat's why they called the traffic agents Brownies back in the day, most of them were brown skinned anyway
They were not part of the Pole Department.
Cant stop smiling :)
A Plymouth Reliant cop car? Of course.
NYPD used those for a while.
Those K-cars were the worst. Gran Fury was the best car imo.
