The values of fuel consumptions, CO2 emissions and energy consumptions shown were determined according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable at the time of type approval. @@BMWM Oh, Well, No offence intended. But I was thinking 'more'. For example; Steering wheel angle reduction, actual 'insane' Tune using the engines 'real' full possible output, (knowing track use may reduce the life of any vehicle). One should always turn off the stereo on the track, as well as multitudes of other beeping sensors. I personally turn off my fans as well, and remove the driver side mat. I do like the idea of race HUD. After checking them out at M-Fest, These would be an amazing 'Weekend Warriors' for the track, that you can daily drive. Oh ... That's all BMW's too! (X1 35i M-Sport)

Both offer the most sportiness compared to their relative competitors.
Mercedes and Audi make way heavier cars with too much unnecessary luxury. See the c63 coupe for comparison, around 1.8 tonnes 2 door sporty Coupé, whereas the M4 weighs only 1.6 tonnes. A M6 weights around the same as a c63, despite being much larger and having more space inside. Audi is trying to offer a bit of luxury and sportiness, while failing both. The RS5 is a joke.
Porsche does the same compared to aston martin for example. Aston has heavy luxury oriented cars with not so bad performance but porsche clearly beats them in terms of sportiness even with waker cars in terms of power.
I think porsche are essentially a specialised performance car manufacturers and the very best by far in that line; bmw are essentially a luxury car maker that seamlessly blend in performance to make luxury "drivers " cars.mercedes and audi are similar to bmw but imo not as good..but close enough to be considered rivals..so porsche vs bmw is apple's vs oranges..

CSI is such a cool name, haven't seen it re-appear since? The BMW M3 CS is the closest I'm aware of. A BMW M860 CSI would be epic, but apparently BMW thinks the V12 is inappropriately heavy for the 8 Series.

FederalNetwork yea it’s like a cross between a Naturally Aspirated V10 Motor and a Supercharged Cross Plan Crank Motor V8 from the Mustang Shelby GT500. But overall the engine is home run.👍🔥🔥🏁🏁

I was expecting the M8 to have more power than the M5 competition, was expecting at least 650 hp. Hopefully the M8 Gran Coupe will have more power, if it doesn't, there's really no reason why you should spend the extra 30-40k on it, just get an M5 comp. If you ask me, the M8 Gran Coupe should have 700 hp stock, that would really destroy the competition and BMW would sell a lot of them, but it probably won't reach those numbers, probably will have to wait for next generation M5 to reach 700 hp.
the next gen m5 will make 700hp+ since its a 4.4 liter twin turbo v8 paired with a electric motor. it won't be as powerful as the bmw xm which has the same engine engine and electric motor but this time making 750hp and 1000nm of torque
