Are you team LongHorn Steakhouse or team Texas Roadhouse?
Longhorn steakhouse
Longhorn Steakhouse
LS 🥩🥩🥩🥩 BUT Texas Roadhouse is decent for early dinners 🤠 .... 400pm to 600.
Longhorn all the way
Texas Roadhouse is my favorite. I am disappointed that their rattlesnake bites are made with cheddar instead of Jack cheese.
The best ribeye I've ever had was at Longhorn. Amazing quality!!
I wouldn’t say best i can go somewhere else with usda prime for that but long horns is for sure one of ebst
best steaks I ever ate besides mine.
The best ribeye I've ever had was years ago at Longhorn steakhouse. It was incredible and perfectly cooked. Not every steakhouse knows how to cook a steak well done and still have it be super tender.
LongHorn steakhouse for me! 💕💕💕
Texas Roadhouse all the way. Never had a bad meal. Best service. Great people. Great fun.
Yes. I Agree. 👍
Great value too!
Will travel to go there!!!
worst food I ever ate .......nasty steak
Both are good, but I lean towards Longhorn. Their steaks are awesome, but a few times a year they offer lamb chops that are just amazing!
Texas Roadhouse was great up until around 2018 then they went cheap! Some menu items are +. 🥩 Go early before the staff runs out of ⛽️.
I agree Aaron, their lamb chops are good also. We both love Lamb. I don't know if yours offer ordering online and picking your order up, but most restaurants are doing that now. 👍✌️🖖🙂👋. Andrew. Yeah I'm using my wife phone. So I'm not Vee.😁👋.
@Veede James yes, they offer it, but I do prefer to eat at the restaurant.
We tend to prefer Longhorn since it's quieter. However we've noticed of late that the Manhattens they serve at the one closest to us is about half the size of what other restaurants in the area serve. This has greatly impacted our choice of where to dine each week.
I love these two places exactly the same! They both have their pros & cons.
You can ALWAYS get a GREAT meal at either place. Never had a bad one at
either of the two. Always, "I mean always" a AWESOME experience!!!!
The ribs at Longhorn’s are amazing. My vote is for Longhorn 😊
My wife and I choose Longhorn. They cook it the way we like. We don't eat out much. Sometimes I order take out. I do this maybe once a month. We just prefer to just order and go pick it up. If we cook our own, we pretty much do it the way they do. My wife deserves a good meal, that she don't have to cook. Why go out on date night, or when we both are tired, ordering it online and just pick up 2 steak dinners, works for me. No matter what I choose, they know us. It's still hot when I get it home. Key is to time it right. It's never failed. We prefer ribeye medium rare.✌️🖖👍🙂👋👣. Andrew.
You're a true romantic!
Team Longhorn! Best bone in rib eye end of discussion 😁
I wasn't a big fan of Texas Roadhouse years ago but I do enjoy certain things> I really love their Caesar salad dressing and Mon-Thurs They have dinner specials from 4-6 pm for around $11.99 that are fine.
I like both of them. I think LongHorn Steakhouse is better overall but, I do like Texas Roadhouse as well, they definitely have the best rolls. I think they both can outdo each other in certain areas but, if I had to choose I'd go with LongHorn.
Pro tip; the better meals are 400pm to 600pm at Texas Roadhouse. Better service. Better QC.
Both are good, but Longhorn is probably my favorite. The NY Strip steak is excellent, the side salad is delicious, and the baked potato is delicious.
Longhorn Steakhouse is an awesome place to eat. The prices are good even if they’re a dollar or two more than the other restaurant I prefer Longhorn.
I am team Texas. And I am not sure where Mashed heard about any negative reviews of their ribs. I have had them multiple times in multiple states and that are always awesome.
I prefer Longhorn. They are both good, but Longhorn just seems to have better seasoning on the steaks to me. Can't go wrong with the Outlaw Ribeye. Also, at Longhorn I have never had to send a steak back for not being cooked medium rare. I have had to at Texas Roadhouse.
Yes. I don’t think Texas seasons at all
I like medium steak, my friends like medium steak, however my wife likes hers "genuine" medium well or well. A medium well steak at Longhorns is RAW to her. It's always repeated send backs there because they can't actually fathom some people genuinely like their meat ruin- I mean cooked.
Really if juice is in the plate all she can see is blood even though she knows that's not what it is. She won't eat over easy eggs either. The irony is she loves her bacon just like I do, cooked but NOT crispy (bubble gum bacon). How F'ed up is that lol?
@@waynepurcell6058 Well, I don't know what Longhorn you are eating at but my sister likes her steaks burnt to a crisp(well done) and she has never had to send it back at Longhorn for being undercooked either. And yeah, I personally love medium rare steak, but you can eat your steak however you want as long as you aren't trying to make me eat it that way.
I have had the opposite experience the last three times I’ve ate at Longhorns. I order a medium the steak was so raw I had to send it back. And like I said the last three times and they always give me the lame excuse that they have a new cook.
@@steved693Might just be locations. I have never eaten at a Longhorn where the steak wasn't cooked either almost perfect or perfectly like I ordered it. But, of course, that can vary by locations I am sure.
I prefer Texas Roadhouse, buy I am sure there are just as many who like Longhorn. One of the things I like about Texas Roadhouse is they have a more varied menu than Longhorn. The Ribs and County Fried Sirloin are just two examples, and the chili is excellent. Never had a bad meal or bad service there and the prices are reasonable.
I think in every city Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn are great but different in there own ways. For me I am a big guy and I love ordering off the menu for my steak. I am able to order off menu in Texas Roadhouse.
All the years I have visited both businesses, Texas Roadhouse has the best steaks of the two. Both restaurants have their own unique characteristics. I like both.
Roadhouse for bread, longhorn for steak, sides slightly to longhorn, I’m usually going to longhorn unless I’m just getting something small or a casual outing
I eat at Longhorn and Roadhouse in Texas, Illinois, and Indiana. I love them both.
I prefer the steaks at Longhorn. I usually get the Outlaw T-bone or Porterhouse.
I prefer the lower prices at Roadhouse.
I prefer the elegant atmosphere at Longhorn.
I cannot eat at Roadhouse with my relative who has a peanut allergy.
Outback Steakhouse and TGI Friday are two other steak restaurants I like. However, none of them can beat the 1 1/2 inch porterhouse steaks I grill at home.
I have never been to Longhorn, but I have been to Roadhouse many times due to the fact it is closer to my home. Moreover, my extended my family seems to love Roadhouse. I will give Longhorn a try if I am close by, but Roadhouse is my go-to for familial reasons.
Both are great and I've never had a bad steak at either one.
What a great comment ED..😉
I definitely prefer Longhorn because of the atmosphere and quality and no blaring non stop country music. Not Everyone Is a Country Fan!!!
Longhorn is substantially better for steaks period, often beating even more upscale chains. Our two local Roadhouse have been consistently bad after a few months past their grand opening. Despite asking for medium rare, the steaks were overcooked and not seasoned, we sent it back and it was only marginally better. After the last two attempts at the newest location in Ashburn VA, we just gave up and stopped returning.
Yeah I do agree Texas Roadhouse has good drinks, but I perfectly fine with Longhorn, their bartender mix perfectly good Old Fashioned
Went to longhorn and got a surf and turf meal. Steak and shrimp with side and salad.
The steak was pretty excellent and i basically cleaned the plate which I don't always do. Cost me about 40 bucks.
When I had to be in Maine for 10 days at the end of Feb/early March 2022 a hotel with a nice restaurant very nearby was a must since being coastal Carolina I'm not a snow driving person. I found a hotel in Lewiston/Auburn that had a Longhorn across the street! One night I did frozen pizza in the room but all other nights I walked over through the snow drift in the parking lot and chowed down! I was back a couple months later when our camp was being de-winterized etc and they still recognized me, (Our LH in Wilmington is also quite good but it's cross town as is TR and we've found a local owned place that is even better just past the road out of neighborhood but a bit higher cost. I'm looking forward to seeing them again next Spring when we prepare to go up there for the summer!
I also travel to South Bend IN quarterly and TR LH & Logan's RH are close to my usual hotel; if I were to choose it'd be LH but a place called Villa Macri always beckons being right behind the hotel...
Longhorn’s outlaw rib eye is always better than any steak I get in Texas Roadhouse.
That in itself makes Longhorn better.
No longhorn in my area. We do have a Texas roadhouse and I have noticed that Texas roadhouse isn't as busy as it used to be.
Thank God for both of them
Love Texas Roadhouse.
In my area, there are 4 Texas Road Houses and 2 Longhorns. I would choose the worst of the two Longhorns over the best Texas Road House hands down. Actually, I have had so many bad experiences at TRH, I will never go back.
I recently went to longhorn and i was debating on it or outback and happy i chose Longhorn. Got the 20 oz Outlaw ribeye and it was great.
Outback is not even close, Longhorn is way, way, way better.
Outback is a rip off
Just saying. I know what I like. My husband know Longhorn is what we love. We don't eat out much. If i want a good Ribeye, cooked the way i love it. Then it's got to be Longhorn. Plus he can order take out and suprise me. We can order it and he just go pick it up, I've never been disappointed. We love taking our time. Being relaxed. If we are not doing our own. Then it's longhorn. Take out or eat it.✌🖖💕🙂👋.neita and ace. Love, respect and positivity always. 👌.
I honestly think that certain cuts in different restaurants tend to be better. Where I live at, a bone in rib-eye from our longhorn is always much better than the one from Texas steakhouse. Drinks are all better at Texas. The rolls are better at Texas. So basically, I think I prefer the steaks at longhorn. Only pro the Texas has over longhorn in steak is the prime rib. Apparently longhorn hasn’t been serving prime rib for a while.
Both are darn good. I tend to alternate.
Longhorn is number 1 for steaks!
There is no one like you! THE BEST IN A QUALITY STEAK & TASTE! DIFFERENCE THE TASTE!
I've been too Texas Roadhouse three times the rolls amazing atmosphere amazing cactus sticks amazing steaks every time has been tuff the first two times I thought because I ordered them medium so I went a third time and got it medium rare steal tuff but a great place for family I'll try long horn
I love both, equally and differently. Both are favorites!
Longhorn definitely is top shelf. My absolute favorite. Flo's filet. Best steak ever! Delish homemade ranch anywhere! Never ever a bad experience.
Im going to have to try this "taste test." In the next town over from where I just moved, the two restaurants are a block from each other.
I prefer longhorns over Texas Roadhouse all the time also it's a quieter atmosphere and you can enjoy your meal and talk to my wife to be instead of having to scream at each other
Last year, While on a weekend getaway, we ate at Texas Roadhouse in Wausau. All the food we ordered, was probably the best ever....seriously. Days later, on our way home, we ate at Longhorn in Green Bay....I ordered a ribeye at both locations, and Texas Roadhouse beat out Longhorn, imho
Had a birthday dinner at Longhorn yesterday. Came home and spent the next 28 hours on the toilet.
Ironic how the very first Texas Roadhouse was in Indiana and the first Dairy Queen which is super popular in Texas is originally from Illinois,...go figure, but I do love me some Whattaburger, a Texas original. 😋
The very first KFC is in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Team Roadhouse! Best ribeye goin’ and have you had the shrimp on the split toasted rolls? Make your eyes roll back in your head! One trip to longhorn. We ended up getting gift cards because the food was so unsatisfactory. Never had anything but outstanding service and meals from TRH. Two thumbs up! 👍🏼👍🏼
LONGHORN AND ROADHOUSE STEAK RESTAURANT SOUNDS GOOD TO ME TOO MY FRIEND HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS TOO LONGHORN AND ROADHOUSE ARE MY FAVORITE STEAKHOUSE RESTAURANT TOO
I tried coltons steakhouse not too long ago and really liked it. It's pretty much the same as roadhouse but a little smaller
They depend on location
I went to the Colton's out in Dickson Tennessee and it sucked.😕
None in Ohio so not anytime soon for me visiting one to try.
@@jacobshort5378 I was out of state when I tried it
@@ddennis2430 I have no plans on out of state travel soon so I'm outta luck lol
Colton’s is similar to Krystal burgers
We love them both. If forced to choose I’d probably go with Longhorn. As appetizers go I do love the spicy chicken bites at Longhorn. But we also like then wings at Texas. The sweet tea at both is great. The salads at both are good. The bread. I love bread. I love both places bread. And Texas’ honey butter is awesome. But I love that bread at Longhorn. Love the steaks at both places. I normally (yes I am one of those people) like a tad bit a ketchup on my steak. At Longhorn no need for ketchup. The seasonings are a perfect match to the steak. My wife does slightly prefer the grilled chicken with mushrooms at Texas. Both places baked potatoes are excellent. One thing (for sure) that I give Longhorn a huge win for is their southwestern style corn on the cobb. That is to die for!! The staff at both places are awesome. I do prefer the quieter atmosphere at Longhorn. We can have a nice dinner and be able to have a conversation and hear each other there. Texas gets crazy, it’s loud and the constant birthday “yee-haws” gets a little over the top sometimes. The ribs at Long horn are always perfect too. Texas’ ribs are the one thing that they do need to work on. Never had a bad meal at either place. They have truly hurt Logan’s and Applebees. Big time. Once again love them both. But if forced to choose ….. Longhorn all the way.
Good info‼️
Not mentioned here, but the Burger at Longhorn is freaking amazing. One of the very best burgers that I have EVER tasted.
I think LongHorn has better steaks and sides. Roadhouse didnt have many options for sides when i went.
I've eaten at both in the past, currently I live in a small market with neither, a larger market about 45-minutes away has both. I have the same opinion about both a you do, I could sum it up that Longhorn is slightly more upscale and Texas Roadhouse is a bit more fun. It would have been nice in include Outback in this group as I feel that they would fit. O f the steak joints I've ever been to, Ruth's Chris and a couple of steak places in Chicago come to mind as my best steak experiences.
Ruth's Chris steaks and the experience at their restaurant does not have enough added value to me to explain the much higher price.
@@AaronKelley1969 One cannot get a greater filet than Ruth's Chris at LH or TR. Yes, RC is expensive, but they do have better meat.
@@TheBigdutchster yes but not so much better to make it worth the extra price and I generally prefer other cuts to fillets
Stupid comparison. Your comparing a $25 steak to a $50+ one. RC better be better.
@Adam S I totally disagree. Is it better? Yes. So much better as to be worth the extra $25? Not to my opinion.
I have to be honest I’ve been to Texas Roadhouse many times as there is one right near my house and I’m ok with it, yes I’ve been to many other high end steakhouses like Ruth’s Chris and Don Shulas among others but if I just want a decent steak on a weeknight and don’t feel like making one myself or making reservations at a high end one, I’m good with Texas Roadhouse, I have never been to a Langhorne not because I don’t want to but there isn’t one near me
Longhorn one of the best steaks period
I like both. I will say they’re both better than outback, that’s for sure.
Both are good, but I like the side order of 6 pc grilled shrimp at Longhorn, best shrimp I've ever eaten.
My wife and I loved Texas Roadhouse, never ever had a problem in the southwest, but since moving east of the Mississippi, it has been one problem after another from leaving things out of the order to having asked medium rare and getting more than well done, very bad customer service . Only now go to Shiloh or longhorns
Longhorn all day. Best steak every time.
Last rib eye steak I had at Texas RH was about 1/2 inch thick! I was less than impressed!
Same. The sirloin I got at Outback Roadhouse was thicker.
I actually had a phenomenal filet at Texas Roadhouse once (I mean really really pro level good). The other time I went they were out of beer, both tap and bottle, and everything was fairly mediocre except for the water.
The smell and who is looks, and tastes that brings you back to the places you love to have a great meal at.
We're not near a Longhorn, so I can't directly compare. What I love about Texas Roadhouse tho is you can have your steak custom cut to order. For instance, I usually get a 24 oz boneless ribeye (medium rare of course). This way I know I'm getting something fresh off the carcass. With all the sides and stuff, I usually don't finish it, but whatever's left will be my steak sandwich the following day.
I'll have to choose Texas Roadhouse as my go to steakhouse choice. Actually, it's pretty simple. There is a Texas Roadhouse restaurant here in town but there isn't a Longhorn Steakhouse. I'd have to drive close to a hundred miles to find a Longhorn Steakhouse.
I liked the lunch ribeye steak sandwich at Longhorn until they stopped offering it. Now I only go to Texas Roadhouse for steaks since I feel that the taste is better for the Texas Roadhouse handcut steaks.
I love Texas Roadhouse !! they are perfect in my book and will go there as much as possible.
I like both but when I want Salmon, Long Horn's Salmon is close to the best I have every had.
Texas Roadhouse is better on good days, but longhorn is much more consistent. TR also seems to have problems keeping items in stock, we get the “ we are out of that” way too often. A couple weeks back, they were out of beer, the manager forgot to order it…
Longhorn hands down.
The best thing about Texas Roadhouse is the rolls they got a WEAK side game compared to longhorn and outback
Both are good but Texas Roadhouse is my best love the onion blossom also the Ribs😊
As a european I'd love to test the real american versions of steakhouses. In europe we have many Steakhouse chains that are smaller with similar names but apparently ?not the same
One is the
"Texas Longhorn Steakhouse" chain opened in 1984 by a Texan. Still it's not the same thing lol😊😮
Texas Roadhouse all day. And much cheaper!
Where are y'all located Longhorn and Texas
Longhorn steakhouse is awesome seems like better quality in my opinion but both r really good 👍👍
Gotta go longhorns. Steaks are delicious. And of course the shrimp appetizer I love.
In our opinion diffently Texas roadhouse love that place, always good food,
Never had a bad Steak. Ribs Salad or anything that was not Tops at Texas Rosd house clean great always satisfied with service…..aiming to please and take care of customers fancy! Texas all the way!
I can't eat at Texas Roadhouse due to having life threatening peanut allergies. (They literally throw peanut shells and peanut dust over every centimeter of those restaurants). So I prefer Longhorn more. I have a Longhorn in my area about 15 minutes away from my house in Flanders NJ. Even though I can't eat there due to peanuts, a Texas Roadhouse in a town in my area such as Rockaway NJ at the Rockaway Townsquare Mall Complex would be cool for people who aren't affected by peanut products and can eat there.
Both good to me
I'd take either over Outback but Longhorn steaks have always been better than Texas Roadhouse in my experience (neither compare to say Capitol Grille or Ruth's Chris in my experience but of course their prices are higher.)
Outback has WAY too salty 🥩. I think they want to get more drinks 🍷🍸🍺🥃
Hyde park, Ruth's Chris, and Morton's all do damn good steaks but for the price I'd take longhorn. They're easier to find.
We have both Texas roadhouse and Longhorns in our town and I always went to Longhorns. I’m usually a ribeye person but since Texas Roadhouse came in and I had their ribeye I think it’s way more flavorful. I always consider Longhorns ribeye to be bland compared to Texas roadhouse so Texas roadhouse is my first choice and their mushrooms and onions that they put on the steaks are to die for there as good as the steaks. The only time I go to Longhorns nowadays is if someone gives me a gift card and then I get steak tips. I have seen a couple of other reviews where they rank steak houses and Longhorns always ranks higher than Texas roadhouse and I can’t understand it.
I like Longhorn over Texas Roadhouse. The steaks are better. The sides are better. The appetizers are better. And the atmosphere is quieter. As an example, Longhorn's rice pilaf is fluffy and delicious and I get some melted garlic butter which makes it even better. Texas Roadhouse's rice is sticky and clumpy.
Longhorn Steakhouse 💯
I like Roadhouse. The one in Montgomery does not have line dancing or peanut shells on the floor. (Interesting, in peanut country.) Steaks are great. So is chicken.
I find steak house franchise steaks very salty. It's hard to taste the actual beef. Even salad greens are soaked in salty water to keep them fresh. The rolls or breads have sea salt sprinkled on top.
We go local with steak houses: Carson's, Gene and Georgetti's, the Golden Steer, Tom's Steakhouse (if you like aged beef), Lawry's Prime Rib. The steaks are lightly seasoned with a little salt and pepper. Regardless of cut, you can taste real beef. Steak sauce not necessary. I'm in Chicago.
Longhorn has killer steaks I usually get the porterhouse chared and cooked to perfect with asparagus and garlic mash omg taste of heaven...although Texas roadhouse has the butter and roles just delicious 😉
Last time I was at Longhorn I ordered the regular ribeye instead of the bone in Outlaw and it was mostly fat and gristle instead of quality ribeye meat! Maybe it was just a bad cut who knows?!
The ribeye is a very fatty piece of meat.
@@Kay21creed True dat!
Higher quality meat has more fat
I prefer to eat at long johns steakhouse but i never see very many locations anywhere
Texas Roadhouse is my preferred restaurant between the two for sure. But overall, my go-to steak restaurant would be Saltgrass.
(And all three are better that Outback - I am NOT impressed by them)
As far as fixing steak at home that can be just as good, if you do it right, my Ninja Foodi Smart grill can do it. I've used this many times and it never failed to give me the results I want. Perfect every time. It's the best kitchen investment I ever made. NO, I'm not a paid endorser for the company. But if I like a product enough, I will brag on it. Paying me is not necessary to brag about things. Enjoy. Oh, yeah, You'll save money fixing steak yourself, not to mention, not having to drive to the restaurant, waiting if it's busy or dealing with a loud restaurant if it's a busy time.
Haven't been to texas roadhouse since about the mid-2000s. Seemed like the food was overcooked each time, and i always got something different. Just stopped going. I found a place like famous dave's to be a lot better. Never been to longhorn
Yeah!, Outback kicks both their asses. 😛
Definitely Texas Roadhouse in our area!
My opinion my not be based on the same thing as most people. I buy full rib primal’s when on sale and cut them into steaks and keep a freezer full, subsequently we eat steak at home very often. Longhorn has the better traditional steak but I can do better at home but if looking for a traditionally prepared steak it’s the best choice. Although we go to Roadhouse if possible because the non traditional steak dishes are better than longhorn.
Love long horn steakhouse
We ordered prime rib and it was very fatty and not very tender. I do not know if I will try the place again. It's the second time this happened here for me in North Little Rock, AR.
both are great longhorn HATE the rub on their steaks, texas roadhouse does not have shell on floor anymore (around me)
I prefer Longhorn. It seems each time I go to Texas roadhouse I get a bad steak. Last time I was there I got a fillet and it wasn’t how I ordered it to be cooked so I sent it back and they sent it back to me burnt where I had to leave and go home. They didn’t even offer to take something off my bill.
While it's mentioned that Texas Roadhouse has a more fun atmosphere, Longhorns has a classier and meshes eden romantic atmosphere. Feels like better quality is all ways, not just limited to the food.
