- Continuing our European mini-adventure we're headed down south from Dublin to Faro in Portugal on this gorgeous green Aer Lingus A330 in lie-flat business class seats that you'd normally only find on long-haul flights. It's sold as economy within Europe so there's nothing special about the service but what a lovely way to fly to a sunny destination with all kinds of space and some great views out the window too. Join us for part 2 of this May 2023 Europe trip!

"Lovely shamrocks, nice accents and friendly people" is a great encapsulation of Aer Lingus' brand. I've always been satisfied when I've flown with AL.
Had a break in Faro a few weeks ago and was amazed to see the Aer Lingus A330 doing the trip.
I look forward every week to Gabriel's videos, they are very informative and just amazing footage on the ground and in the air. Cant wait for the next one keep up the excellent work Gabriel.
I loved that concept! I have had very mediocre food and service sitting in business class, not mentioning the airlines, so the seats are what it is all about, especially on long flights!
Airlines are ALWAYS thinking due to the competition. Thanks Jim
I too am a seat person and the lie flat is the only way to go for me. There would be no question. Great report and some new information. Thanks
Thanks Gabriel for the flight on Aer Lingus I’ve never flown with that carrier but my aunt did from LAX to Dublin and I used of course flight radar 24 to track her flight and they have one of the best call signs I think shamrock I love it I think I even like it better than speed bird And the old defunct virgin America call sign of Redwood anyway, thanks for the video, oh yeah, I love that green color also
Amazing job on the vid 😌
Awesome video!
Hah can just about make out my house at 2:59
Was it the caravan in the industrial estate 😂
@@halitosis75 in the shed behind it 🤣
That's funny 😄
I've always used Advantage fares to Faro with Aer Lingus but last time was bumped out of Business Class cabin because of change of aircraft. I was not happy to be told that it's your "preferred choice" of seat but not guaranteed. No compensation either
Whenever I prebooked seats the email confirmation has a clause saying "not 100% guaranteed due to operational issues", or at least something like that.
Haven't flown Aer Lingus since 2019.
It's a flying Aluminium tube in the sky .... not a country manor for the Queen.....Great vid4o though 👍
Why is such a big plane used on a route usually for smaller aircraft ? I assume it’s for extra demand maybe ?
Extra capacity for the summer schedule.
The aircraft lands from the USA at 5am, then does DUB-FAO-DUB, before heading back to the USA at 4pm.
I get you. Actually a good idea getting more use out of the plane while not affecting the transatlantic schedule
Are Lingus does the same on the Dublin - Malaga route. They can fit a European and Transatlantic flight into a 24 hour schedule, which makes economic sense by maximizing aircraft usage.
I flew that service recently and though I didn't upgrade to the business class cabin, the seating was comfortable with extra legroom which is standard for its transatlantic service.
Catering looks economy style and you have to pay while flying business?! I was looking for SWISS flights from ZRH-PMI on their 777 as anounced in January, but now you can only find flights on the A340.. Do you guys plan anything like that? Cheers
He wasn't flying Business. Its an all economy flight, but you can pay extra to select a lieflat seat.
@@Mugdorna Ooh I see, thanks for explaining!
Aer Lingus has now removed the green from many of its planes' exteriors. All you is is mainly white with the words Aer Lingus in green, green shamrock on the tail fin and green on the engines. I am not sure yet if I like the new colour scheme.
it has grown on me
Yes, the new colour scheme is nice, clean and nice.
How would a person find out the timetable for this aircraft? Looking to book Dub - Faro - Dub
I recommend Google Flights or the Aer Lingus website.
Business Class and you had to BUY food? 🙄🙃
He said it was sold as economy, which kinda baffles me.
@@elevat1on EI offer only economy fares for short haul as the a330's (long haul) are the only aircraft in the fleet with business class. During summer when the a330's fly to popular European destinations they still only offer economy fares, but when you go through to purchase a ticket and you get to seat selection you can choose the business class seats. Not free, €90 per leg but literally it's just a fee for seat selection, you get nothing else
It's sold as economy but with an option to upgrade your seat. It's a popular leisure route during the summer season which requires the additional capacity of the A330, the business seats being made available is simply an added bonus.
It's an all economy flight. But its uses a Transatlantic aircraft that has lieflat seats.
Aer Lingus don't offer J Class within Europe.
@@KevinAndrew350 Well, least they could have done was included the snack and water with the upgrade.
I don't know... Most of the people don't fly on business, so this kind of video are useless for the majority. I stopped to watch this kind of videos (and others from other youtubers) because they weren't for me. The videos are very well done, but sometimes they should cover things for the mortal people.
this is economy class but with a lie flat seat. They dont sell business class on this route
