Hi Liz 👋, So sorry to hear you have been poorly for 3 weeks and still not better, even worse when your away from home, I hope you do get better soon 🤞, you said how cold it is there , here in Cornwall today we are covered in snow and 1c max temperature, my bike stayed in the garage. Exactly, they would probably have been ok until Germany or maybe even all the way home, but I was convinced they’d go pop or something so they needed to be changed. I’d rather be comfortable.
@R1_Liz absolutely - even something as simple as noticing the rear starting to square off makes you feel more tentative tipping it into a bend. And since riding a bike well is all about confidence, I definitely understand getting them done sooner rather than later.

In Poland usually restaurants outside of cities are cheap (or have normal prices), but quality is better than you would get in a city for the same price. And about speed limits, we treat it like e.g. oh it’s 50kmh here, so I can ride till 99kmh not to lose my license
Ahhh that explains a lot. In the Uk there is this idea that we can get away with speeding 10% +3mph before we would get into trouble, but really it is just how the police are feeling on the day 😅 - 99 in a 50 would get you banned…
Sorry to hear about still feeling bad, although I suppose this was right after the last video when you were feeling bad... Getting sick on a long ride just has to suck, at least if the ride is tightly planned.
@@R1_Liz Yikes. 3 weeks is not great. Tried seeing what the doctors say? Covid can absolutely be a pain in the ass and linger on for a long time if it's that, hope it eases.
That front tyre cupping is like my old RT used to be before I started to run a higher than standard inflation pressure 38 / 39 psi not 36 psi which is standard. Love the pass on the lorry in the traffic jam. Did you try that cheese soup recipe ?

I’m home now, these videos are a few weeks old, and I’m annoyed that everyone in the UK has snow but I seem to be missing it 😂
Once you have it in your head that the tyres need doing - the bike starts to feel bad. New rubber is a great investment.
