The Marchés of Provence - how to picnic like the French

Provence is famous for its markets or 'Marchés'. Set up on the village streets, these picturesque markets have vendors selling seasonal produce direct from the farm, local honey, cheese, seafood and meat as well as delicious cooked meals from paella to roast free range chickens. Then there's the flowers, wicker baskets, kitchen gadgets, soap, linens, clothing, superb table cloths and even bedding! If you can't find it at a market, you probably don't need it! We adore shopping the markets and picnicking with a view of the majestic Mont Ventoux over the vines of the Côtes du Rhône.
