Cowboys should draft Troy Franklin
It's a B+, like first 3 picks were all top 50 players (Guyton in 20s, Kneeland 40s, and Beebe 50s) on most big boards and about mine as well. Liufau was a reach, but don't think it should drop the grade that low. Get the RB that falls tomrrow and sign an UDFA that somehow becomes a borderline or really good depth piece for us. Go Cowboys!
That Kneeland pick was the head scratching pick that they always do. It was only a matter of time

If you watched the draft process and didn’t listen to the media guys, you’d know Kneeland was a good pick for where he was drafted in the draft. My only question would be, why draft at most a rotational guy on round 2 if he’s not a spectacular player? Could’ve gotten Colson, or Brooks, and others who could be immediate starters. If they swapped the picks, but Beebe round 2 and Kneeland first 3rd, I think Dallas fans would be a lot happier about it.
Decent value, but not a huge need. Guess Jethro plans on playing RB.

He seems solid so I guess we’ll see. Maybe we lose another De during the season and now the pick may look way better.
I don’t like the selection just based on what we needed. We could have grabbed a position of need.
The only head scratching pick for me was the LB pick. You have Payton Wilson, Jeremiah Trotter Jr, Cedric Gray and James Williams all still on the board. Idk what the Cowboys saw in him to feel confident enough to take him over all of those guys

Truth of this is.. noone ever knows until they hit the field with the lights on. Last year.. We drafted pretty bad. But I like these picks better for sure. I have a feeling this LB will be a true savage.
B or B- from me. Decent draft - love the trade back and still got a player they wanted. Beebe was an amzing value pick. Don't mind Kneeland or Liufau much at all.

I must agree to disagree. Dogs don't have a 37% run grade and 3% (yes, three) per cent true run stop. Zero tackles in a big game like Ohio State ? This was a bad pick, even without looking at who else was still on the board... A third down backer and special teamer at best. Niners and Eagles will eat him alive...

I don't get too high or low on draft picks. We've all seen round 1 picks that were busts and late round or UDFAs that became stars. Hopefully Dallas can trade up and get a solid RB without giving away the house.
Mike Zimmer chose Marist because was able to tell him what every player was doing on defense with out being told. I saw he is a solid mix with what we have. The trade down getting another high pick and still getting Guyton was master class. Gotta give them A-. I wanted a center but Beebee could be a center. Now we will be able to run the ball.
I think kneeland was a need, but ABSOLUTELY not a 2nd round need. Definitely should have gone for a running back or linebacker in his stead

I've had a bad day with my physical health, so I haven't followed the draft closely. I've said for several weeks now that I don't want the Cowboys drafting a bunch of offensive talent for Prescott to use to showcase himself during his free agency season. I don't know what players were available at each of these points in the draft.
I would have preferred Ruke Orhorhoro or Junior Colson at pick 56. Regardless of my feelings about picks for the offense, I couldn't have resisted Zach Frazier at 56.
I give this draft a B- so far. I'm glad that the Cowboys haven't gone after wide receivers or running backs to this point. I'm particularly glad that they didn't pick a running back with a history of injuries. I wouldn't have picked Marist Liafu as the linebacker, but maybe they see something that I didn't see. I would have been much happier with Junior Colson or maybe Cedric Gray at 56 and a defensive lineman like McKinnley Jackson, Maason Smith, or Mekhi Wingo at 87.
Assuming that they don't make any trades, I hope that they will use 174 to get a defensive tackle and use 216 to get a running back. Right now, Kristian Boyd and Carson Steele would be my favorites. Depending on how things are looking in terms of likely available UDFA players, they could use 233 and 244 to pick up needed players who aren't likely to come to Dallas as UDFA players.
Because I believe that the Super Bowl window for the Cowboys doesn't open until 2026, I would be happy to see some trades tonight. Maybe they could trade DeMarcus Lawrence for a fourth-round pick this year and some pick next year. With Marshawn Kneeland possibly filling the DeMarcus Lawrence role, trading him could make sense. Another possibility would be trading Sam Williams for a fourth-round pick this year and a conditional pick in 2025. I could even see trading Zack Martin for a good pick next year and maybe a late pick this year. All of that could help persuade Prescott that he needs to accept a trade.
I agree with the theory they want to persuade dak to request a trade. This draft is definitely evident of that, we’re drafting project players who won’t have an impact for another 1-2 years. They do not want to give dak any help and I’m on board with that.

Rico Dowdle is a good back. We got the Rams dude as well and others. Behind a good line and scheme, we can run the ball AS WELL as last year. That might not be saying much BUT....do not panic.
I agree, Rico never disappointed me like zeke did. I think he’s an upgrade, plus the rams dude highlights are fire he could shine as a #2 true. Hopefully our run blocking improves

So for a prove it year for everybody, which player drafted so far can come in and help the team win immediately- this year? Actions speak louder than words. How do you say you're preparing for life after Dak without saying you're preparing for life after Dak? You draft a developmental project in Guyton instead of Barton, who could be a beast at center on day 1, keeping Dak's interior clean and creating holes for the running game. A running game that would help Dak too. All these players could be studs. Next year for Trey Lance. Imagine Tyler Smith at LT, Beebe at LG, and Barton at center. Nuff said.

I agree for the most part on Zeke, but the yards for carry isn't a great example. Patriots online was historically bad and Stevenson was the starter half the year. BB's heart wasn't into it last year

Give the draft so far a B grade. I love what we got in cooper beebe for essentially our trade down in the 1st round. The guy is nasty and we needed that. Marshawn kneeland was a head scratcher, but I’m assuming this year he’s used as a situational 3rd down run defender and for that, yea you definitely needed that. Marist liufau is a joke to me and I’m a Notre dame fan, he’s never in the right position, he gets stuck behind second level blocks, great coverage skills, so maybe a second and 3rd and long backer, I love his tenacity but he needs to be polished hard to be useful. For a one year defensive coordinator contract, I just don’t understand the project picks

I’ll be honest, the only pick I like is bebee. They at least for me they had much better players on the board at the other picks.

I like the trade down in 1st round. I do not like the 2nd round pick where they picked him. Dallas could have traded down in the 2nd round and picked up a 4th round pick. The Kneeland was too high for him. He had a 4th round grade on him and dallas took him in the 2nd. Not good. I really liked the Cooper Bebe pick in the 3rd round. Marist liufatu pick was way too high for him. He had a 4th or 5th round grade on him. Over all not a bad draft just thought dallas took 2 players too early and could have traded down 5 or 6 picks in the 2nd round picked up an additional 4th rounder. Other than that let's hope dallas has a better day 3 and all of these guys turn out to be great.
