I like the answer way better that they wanna rely on their younger guys that didn’t get much playtime the last few years to improve. Not saying that’s an excuse, but people forget, WR need, Jalen Tolbert was a 3rd round pick, DE Sam Williams was a 2nd round pick, LB DeMarion Overshown was a 3rd round pick, Mazi Smith was a 1st round pick, Nahshon Wright was a 3rd round pick. They want those guys to step up, and prove why they were picked so high. Even Deuce Vaughn last year, they loved him, fans loved him, give him a shot under a better improved and consistent O Line. I do worry that there is no workhorse RB in the roster, and I wouldn’t want them to sign players that everyone knows won’t do well on other teams. (cook and a Zeke are done and won’t improve off their bad years last year) if they wanna trade for a guy like Khalil Herbert on the Bears I’d feel 1000x better about this off-season. Low cost trade and can battle with the young guys to get the most snaps

I like the 2024 draft class more than the 2023 class they improved in the trenches I cant wait to go to training camp! Mike Zimmer is going to bring alot of energy and accountability coaching the defense I can see him yelling at Sam Williams already

I think this draft means that Waletzko and Ball are out.
Based on what? They already lost 2 OL, I seriously doubt they are letting Ball and Waletzko go after the draft. The draft and the bulk of free agency is over, its a little late to be turning over mutiple other backup positions now. Its more likely at this point both those guys will be back for 2024, and then possibly gone in 2025.
Yeah. They had their chance. They will be backups and eventually replaced. Have not shown enough to be starters. Especially Ball. Waletzko , is still questionable because not enough to evaluate. Twice shoulder injuries though, so wondering if it’s something that will always hinder him.

I think schoonmaker might have trouble getting on the field after I saw the tape of the UDFA TE
We signed two and they’ll be blockers and special teams players. Hendershot will be gone for sure.
@@THEROOSTER92420 Not so sure. He's a beast doing dirty work and he knows the system better than the UDFA's from this year. PLUS, Stephens is going to challenge Schoonmaker. They wanted LaPorta and didn't get him. Schoon was a BAD pick IMO.

But also Schoon was in case Ferguson got hurt or didn’t work out.

@ToddsterSaw zeke isn't a rb worth his co tract but if he is cheap, he would be goof for short yardage. Pollard was getting stuffed on shirt downs. Majority of pollard 1005 yards came when the cowboys was blowing teams out of the water.

The thing I think is way too often overlooked is that Zeke kept Dak from being murdered due to poor Oline play on obvious passing downs more times than I could count over the years. That’s why Dak loves him. There’s value in that
I have always loved Jerry. At this point it's like what happened with Al Davis they have no idea how to build a team. This years team will be much much worse than last years team. I hope they do better than Mazi Smith and Schoonmaker.

As a fan of this team, it's frustrating that they really think they have improved this team to take the next step in the playoffs. Depending on a few young players that were hurt last year to get us past the first round of the playoffs isn't realistic to me. When Philly who is our biggest roadblock to win the NFC East has made major moves to improve. After this year's loss in the playoffs, I have lowered my expectations of what this team could be. I think this year we missed a window to get to the SB. And with the current make up of this team, I don't see us getting any closer this year.

Are you kidding McCarthy is absolute junk. There's no disapline the Cowboys have been the most penalised team in the NFL 3 years in a row now. He won 1 superbowl in his entire coaching career and that's because of Aaron Rodgers. Last season against the Packers in the playoffs, McCarthy didn't have the Cowboys ready to play and he didn't show any emotion at all the entire game even knowing that his team is getting embarrassed. I would have been at least showing I care, yelling at players, throwing crap around letting the players, fans and the owners you care. He just stands there like a fat bump on a log. Just watch I gaurentee the defense won't have many penalties at all because Zimmer cares and won't put up with BS. That's how Jimmy johnson was and that's why they won with Jimmy Johnson.

I envy teams like the Eagles with professional GM's that are not related to ownership, one can see the difference in the draft and free agency. As of Monday morning, the Cowboys have signed one UFA, Spann-Ford TE Minn. a position that has a depth of 4 players, meanwhile, the Chargers have signed 21, the Raiders 17. The Jones are like having a huge gorilla on Cowboy fans backs.

I can't be a hypocrite, as Dallas has overall drafted decently over the past 8-10 years. But it's the actual front office management that gets lapped. I hate the Eagles like Satan, but their front office has run circles around Jerrah and Stephen. If you haven't noticed, Philly and Wash have improved...we are treading water and are content with a division title every 3-4 years which results in what Jerrah loves most....merch sales.

Cooks is number 2, Tolbert out played Gallup later on in the season. Brooks made plays when given a chance. Turpin made some big plays but didn't get a lot of reps. U have weapons. Fixing the oline will help the running game
