Since the floor joist was cut, he should have sistered up the adjacent joists next to the one he cut to make up for the loss of structural support. Also, he should use nails vs screws. The way he did it wouldn't pass inspection if you sold your house or had to go through initial occupancy inspections. Looks nice otherwise.
Cross-beams need to be put in. IIRC anything 4' away from the end needs to be doubled up. I recently did my own but was looking for hinged ideas. I don't know the proper terminology but I made sure it's up to code topped off with stainless hardware for extra reassurance.

Great video! thank you, but I have an issue in my closet....What do I do around the crawlspace door opening, and to the cover of it with the planks??? do I glue the planks to the crawlspace cover? How do I cut or nail down or glue around the crawlspace opening??? Nobody has videos about this which is mind baffling!!!!!!

Hi Thanks . I buy it from Amazon UK 🇬🇧 Rotation Hidden Handle, Tiberham 180 Degree Rotating Heavy Duty Metal Pull Handle, Cabinet Cupboard Drawer Handle Hardware (100 mm/4 inches)
Hey. Laminate flooring yes does expand. In the this episode I used LVP flooring ( luxury vinyl planks) its expansion is very low so it can be glue down and a left couple mm around for expansion 👍🏻✅
Looks great! But, one thing - What about the floor framing? ... you took out a section of floor joist. When these are not retrofitted these are framed out pretty beefy. There is no support along that joist now. Not trolling. Actually curious because I am about to do one of these. Thanks!
@@yellosubmareen thanks In my case it was supporting brick walls in each side of the door I made and it went across the joists. No changes for the structure 👍🏻💪🏼

is there some kind of edge inside the opening and on the hatch ? seems there is some kind of edging there?
Great job. Would the part of joist you've cut be a structural integrity issue
Yep, and would immediately fail inspection. lol

Hey
Thanks trying my best 😁

Doesn't the cut floor joist need better support?
Thanks for the question 👍🏻
There is a brick walls under ether side of door holding the floor joists .
Safe and secure ✅
Check with your local building code first.
