  • Guys the original video is one of the most succesful videos on my channel. So thank you guys for that. It went from like 1k to 8k in a week which is so crazy. I want to thank you all for that. I did spend a long time on that video so its nice to see the work paying off. And this video too. Although I have to admit. I don't think many of you read the description but if you do be prepared. I did not write a script for this video. And i usually do. So it probably could've been written better and honestly I probably should've scripted it but since i was looking at comments i wanted the responses to be genuine. I don't think this video had to be super serious and well made. Just a fun time. But yeah.
    Guys honestly im getting pretty tired of talking about fictional rules. With my video blowing up i have also been exposed to way more stupid 3 iq comments than ever and that bothered me for sure. But I did see a lot of other good comments. But those bad ones. Oh my. But yeah this is probably the last speedster video. And i do not like talking about super hero science because it usually is so inconsistent and it hurts my head. Infinity war had so many plot holes that it was crazy. But it was still a good movie. And thats what matters. So to all these 10 dollar npc people who actually care about fictional characters winning fights, go back to the adoption center please. And for people who like tik tok edits, go clap yourself. Love yourself.
    Alright but yeah guys thanks for watching. I guess ill post random links down below.

    I think it’s important to note that if a person has super speed they automatically have super strength, whether traditionally or not. A speedster may not be especially strong, but if they can hit someone at a few times the speed of sound that means their fist is travelling at thousands of kilometres per hour, that’s a lot of power no matter how strong they are.

      Durability too. Just the speed alone. The reason a bullet kills you isn't because of its sharpness. It's the speed. You can take a bullet and tap it into your chest. Does it kill you? No. It's not a scalpel. It's the velocity that kills.
      You moving at the same speed would hold to that same rule. If you move at bullet speed (take a 9mm, let's say a bit below Mach 2), almost the exact same as a bullet hitting you would happen to your entire body. You'd be a pulp INSTANTLY. And if you were to hit something at that speed, it'd be outright identical.
      So yes, speedsters are also insanely durable and strong. Your durability always matches your strength and speed. It's inevitable. If you can lift a skyscraper, your body still has to hold that weight, and thus your muscles and organs and vessels are more durable than the entire mass of that skyscraper. If you can run at Mach 100, you can basically live without oxygen and have enough durability to withstand over 2000 degrees celsius.
      It's why I like The Flash. As usual, he's the best written Speedster, because The Speedforce is literally a reality altering power. He phases in and out of existence essentially.

    Speedsters shouldn’t lose at any point of time, but when you have speed equipped in your arsenal, you have some type of chance to counter and have those abilities in some sort of way.

    • @teshayweatherspoon9704
      @teshayweatherspoon9704 11 месяцев назад +27

      I think speedsters should be able lose based on their personality. And you don't have to be a speedster to beat a speedster. Alot of speedsters are cocky and tend to heavily underestimate their opponent. Which the opponent can use to bait them when they are lax and confident. Maybe you can't move fast but you can react fast and your power is fast, with that you can get a speedster. Knowing that their opponents lack super-speed, speedsters might overestimate their abilities and become overconfident. This can lead to lapses in judgment and strategy, allowing their opponents to capitalize on their mistakes.
      Many characters who lack super-speed can possess powers or gadgets designed specifically to counter fast-moving opponents. This could include traps, energy-based weapons, or even telekinesis to immobilize the speedster. Utilizing super-speed consumes an enormous amount of energy. Characters with this power can't maintain it indefinitely. They may tire quickly, leaving them vulnerable to opponents who can outlast them in a battle. If an opponent can survive the initial onslaught and wear down the speedster, victory becomes more attainable.
      There are a bunch of ways speedsters can lose. Some just aren't as believable because the writers don't show the speedster full weaknesses and strengths.

For the majority of speedsters, this is how they are portrayed, so this statement works for most speedsters, but you said "ever" and this statement doesn't work as an absolute.
      Dash, for example, is basically shown to NOT have super reactions. Yes, his sense of where he is in relation to himself seems to match his speed, but his outwards senses don't have that, as shown by him running into the swarm of bugs during the "100 mile dash".

    • @Levyafan
      @Levyafan 10 месяцев назад +49

      One thing to note about Red Rush is that he was, by all means, holding back. The rest of the Guardians were confused about why would Omni Man attack them, even theorising he was controlled, and he was a friend to them still - meaning they were at very least trying to pull their punches somewhat. Until Red Rush got caught lacking, that is.
      But why was he caught lacking? Why, it's because he was pulling punches! You can notice, during the fight, that he slows down a little every time he punches, and I think it's because punching somebody at full speed would fuck them up enough that he's just anxious about doing it - Omni Man IS a friend to him, after all, even if he's acting weird and dangerous and obviously needs to be stopped. Stopped, but not killed - and, therefore, Red Rush pulls his punches. That, or it perhaps would actually hurt his hands to do so?
      Regardless, he slows down his punches to only punch at a fraction of his speed and only starts going all out while being crushed alive, but at that point his speed is no longer relevant, aside from his punches being strong enough to make Omni man cough up blood. Which is, uh, no small feat (that's internal organ rupture we're talking about here), especially against somebody as durable as Omni Man.

      Admittedly I haven't seen Invincible myself so I don't know if this is true, but going by what clips were in the videos, I imagine it's a matter of "Limited animation" where to save money they animate less frames, and use different stylistic things to try and mask it, in the case of punches, usually waiting a few extra frames on a connected hit to emphasize power.
      Realistically though, and this is just my opinion, if you're gonna do a show about a speedster it might be better to go the extra mile for animating special sequences, or in the case of Red Rush vs Omniman, maybe show that RR is just booping him quickly and dodging out of the way, deliberately _not_ holding on frames where his punches connect to emphasize that "Yeah, he's hitting him, but it ain't doing much"

      Yo! Appreciate your video, how do I get in touch with you?
      I'm working on a comic book about different types of Speedsters vs each other with something like organic mutants vs science lab metas using tech to create fields that allow them to create a "time bubble" that slows their environment that negates a speedsters powers.
      Beside absorbing or depowering a Speedster I'm trying to figure out how other supes can genuinely can put up a fight against FOX X-Men Quicksilver when he isn't being tripped...because speed react, like any task demands attention and you can be playing a sport and not see the ball coming right at you because you're still in the middle of another demanding task and...not concentrating? And even when a Speedster trips doesn't that turn them into a ball of flame like projectile? Not that they die or get seriously injured coz they have to get up but how much damage would that mistep cause? Think A-Train but in a crowe full of people.
      So basically the speedster in my story is on the run for making a mistake that kills TONS of people and now like the original Hulk is on the "run" from different Supers with their own reasons like Superman (Justice) + Homelander (Corporates want his DNA) + Reverse Flash (Revenge) + Flash Family (bring him back home coz people who can access the Speed Force are like Wonder Woman's people, hidden from the world of man) + Magneto (to recruit or kill). Thus far my version of Magneto is the only solid non speedster or Superman Iike I can see "easily" defeating other speedsters using magnetic fields.
      Absolutely NO TIME TRAVEL because no. If I could run a couple of ideas by you it would be much appreciated.

One moment a speedster is able to slow down time to almost halt and other times they get beaten by slower characters. Yes you can say that Omni Man or Apoclypse also have fast reflexes but then they also loose to bad writing because they find it difficult to deal with slower enemies.. like Omni man was able to react to red rush means he has faster or same reaction time as red rush but he finds it difficult to use that reaction time against normal enemies.

    Question, can't a speedster just react to the stimuli of something like a fist or a bullet touching him and just grab the bullet or get out of the way? Like how the flash did in that one CW episode? Wouldn't that just make them even more broken?

    • @achimdemus-holzhaeuser1233
      @achimdemus-holzhaeuser1233 11 месяцев назад +9

      No thats BS.
      There is always Momentum. You can't just stop and reverse direction, less so, the faster you go. 90 degree turns should be impossible for a speedster.
      If you react to stimuli, the stimulus allready touched you, even with superspeed you can't reverse this, you could slap it like a fly or something, but taking it of the skin is stupid.
      I think running into something, even a bullet is worse for a speedster than anybody else because of the added momentum.
      In comparison it's like you did not drive a car in the wall, you actually flew a jet in the wall.
      And I think flying a Fighter Jet or Rocket is the best comparison to a speedster. Every Movement has to planned in advance and every deviation can be fatal.

      Yeah but to most speedsters momentum is non existent. How many times have you seen speedsters take 45° corners without slowing down? Also when in bullet time, a speedster's sight is adapted to match him, the exact reason that he can see stuff in slow motion. Why should the other senses be any different? Like try poking yourself, but do it very slowly, now imagine that is a bullet, your telling me quicksilver would not be able to save himself? And then you could say: "Well he's not in bullet time" but by the time the hot air from the bullet touches him he will be. All this to say, a flash like speedster should not be killable.

That along side with experience in combat would make it a lot easier for omni man to anticipate where he would be. Keep in mind he also trained with him so he is probably very familiar with rush's tactic of trying to confuse him which he likely has used against countless other villains before. Is it *really* a stretch to say he can move at that speed in very short bursts (Superman can do this too)? Not defending it because it's Invincible, just saying.. I think the door is open to an actual explanation to that one. When Omniman threw that first punch, it was moving at *just* under Red Rush speeds, why he barely moved Immortal out of the way in time. For BVS I think one of the reason why superman didn't avoid the gas either is because he didn't think it would hurt him. He stopped the bullet to inspect what it does and it exploded into gas. He had never experience kriptonite or know about it existence (there was none in MoS) and never get hurt before (except when fighting Zod) so he have no clue there would be something that could potentially harm him. All of the previous batman devices was useless on him so he probably didn't think it would hurt him either. If I was him I probably like: "Ok another bullet and it explode into gas, that is all? Moving on Batman." So that was probably why he didn't dodge the gas and just inhale it like normal smoked bomb that Batman just used a few second ago.
    And isn't doomsday also has super speed because he is also Kriptonian? And superman wasn't as strong as before. He regenerated from the nuclear explosion and cameback instantly. So the fight with Superman, WW and DD was probably at super speed but Batman was watching it as well so I am not sure how fast it is.
    But I am not sure if it is justify or not.
    About Snyder cut. I guess Flash was so focusing on building charge he couldn't do anything else or all the charge would be lose. That may be why he get hurt. But if you don't agree then it is ok too.
    When he fought Superman. Superman also had super speed and he never could catched flash. Their only interaction was Flash tried to push Superman and then he got pushed back as well (probably a part of superman also pushing and he was like a wall so Flash instead pushed himself too).
    Anyway the thing with BvS is that. After the first reaction with Kriptonite, Superman got hurt a little but didn't know his superpower was heavily reduced. He was about to full strike on another normal person at that time. He could have killed batman if the kriptonite gas didn't last that long. That was so bad for someone that called Superman. And just the scene before he also threw batman over from a high fall. That could easily kill another person.
    I think either way of thinking those are bad writing is fine. Because BvS really has bad writing and so does Snyder Cut.

      The terraforming machine in mos generated kryptonite and visibly weakened superman, which is how batman got the idea to harvest the stuff. Lead dust and a kryptonite nade coated in lead disguised the material, and superman would have no idea how much he could be weakened by direct exposure. Also, superman was holding back but he also wanted to physically stop batman and put on a show convincing enough for lex.
      What part of the writing did you not like for bvsu? I thought the writing was better than mos - especially the dialogue -, although it makes the same mistakes with batman that mos made with superman, and it is weakened considerably if damaged joker isn't actually robin. ...actually if damaged joker isn't robin I guess Batmans motivation and 'reawakening' don't actually make sense. I knew about it before going in and understood the film as superman / Lois reminding the 'criminal' batman of his original purpose from before he decided to 'be a symbol' for change, which was to protect the innocent. What happened to Robin shows what a sisyphean and ephemeral goal it is to change others when they can be ruined so easily, and superman was like a super powered reflection of his own hubris, as well as a tremendous danger if he ever loses faith like batman did. I liked the film because every major character was trying to be a hero / superman in their own flawed way, including lex, and I thought that was clever. I can't watch most clips from mos without cringing but bvs is actually pretty decent by comparison, and I love all the little Easter eggs and references.

    You touch upon a bigger and larger issue in these vids: that is, that in fiction in general and not just where superspeed or even powers and abilities are concerned, consistency is actually very hard to come by so much so that when it's seen, it's rare and often lauded, such as in the (first) Incredibles and Avatar: The Last Airbender (but not Korra, but Korra is awful). Sadly, is so many things, the rule of cool really does take precedence over the rule of making sense via implications and applications and other things, even internal sense, and the superhero genre, as much as I love that genre and is my personal favorite, very much suffers a lot of the time from this. Because superhero stuff is by its nature so flashy and is so prevalent nowadays, it also gets called out on this more often than other genres even tho many examples in those other genres are just as guilty if not more so. I will say this tho: at least in those instances you mentioned, the characters were, at least generally in character and consistent with themselves. I saw a couple scenes from the Halo TV series that, while impressive in that they finally give spartans feats more aligned with the non visual/book stuff in a visual medium rather than that slow as molasses dreck we got in Halo 5 between Locke and John, were vastly outweighed by the full on character assassination of Chief that I saw in other segments. All that to say, the Mario movie slaps the Halo TV series so hard in actually being faithful to the source material from a character, setting, and plot standpoint that Mario now owns microsoft and uses Chief as a footstool while playing Kid Icarus on his SNES.

    Speedsters themselves are a big ass piece of bad writing. Super Speed isn’t just running fast. It’s doing everything fast. The faster things get, the more impulse they have. Someone like Quicksilver moving faster than the speed of SOUND?! Villains wouldn’t be flying away. They’d be straight up exploding from the sheer force of his punches. I haven't seen the X-Men movies much, but if the main villain's entire deal is that they adapt to superpowers, then it makes way more sense that he'd be able to stop Quicksilver. I'd need to see the scene in its entirety to get a sense of the timeframe, but it does at least seem like Quicksilver engaged for longer than a nanosecond, and I think the eyeball shot was intended to show Apocalypse gaining that sort of speed perception we see Superman with. But again, this is coming from an incomplete understanding, it may not be entirely accurate.
    Red Rush was absolutely a victim to bad writing though. He shouldn't have been going on the offensive at all, instead using his speed to nudge his allies out of the way of Omni Man's attacks. He also should have been able to escape in the moment when Omni Man switched from holding his wrist to holding his head; either he put one hand on his skull first and then readjusted his grip, creating a window where RR is virtually unrestrained, or he went to put both hands on his skill, making RR literally unrestrained for a moment.

    The argument I'll make for Omni Man is that he planned how to handle Red Rush. To bring up MMA like you have, some of the best wins were purposely letting an opponent over extend themselves and responding.
    How Jones completely embarrased Gain or recently with O'Malley vs Sterling, he knocked him out with a hook after Sterling threw a jab. It feels split second but it was a purposeful plan to attack on an attack.
    This has been done even on contact as McGregor won a fight tanking a hit but getting a better one in as the punch landed. So imagine if you didn't have to worry about taking any damage on a hit.
    One of Omni Man's main characteristics is being significantly more experienced in battle and tactics than everyone else combined with Superman powers. So I wouldn't put it past him baiting an attack he knew he could punish.
    And Omni Man is shown to have super speed immediately, not just from inertia. He does speedster things like change clothes immediately and others. So he clearly has speedster powers even if it's less than Red Rush, but enough to utilize it.
    I am definitely giving it some leeway for the theory as the animation doesn't portray it well but it's why it makes sense conceptually.
    I don't think they were written into a corner, I think they thought it looked cooler (as opposed to the comic that was trying to be more accurate) the way it's shown than something more accurate.
    They could have made it that Omni man tricked Red Rush into too much momentum that he just couldn't physically respond and countered in a more believable way but the arm grab is just more intimidating which was the point.
    These are fantasy entertainment properties and often how something is portrayed is more important than accuracy of the portrayal. Though most of the others are bad writing imo.
    I think the issue with the writing is the final episode when those abilities suddenly seem less powerful for the plot to happen, he shouldn't have been taken down by cyborgs.

  • @battlecraftsteve8574
    @battlecraftsteve8574 Год назад +3

    I think that I could explain why Red Rush died to Omni man logically but it more because the writer stumbled upon on it rather than because of their actual skill as writer. First we need to understand that Red Rush just need to make 1 mistake for Omni man to destroy him. He doesn't have super healing or super durability. When he died he break his hand try to punch Omni man away.
    Second, Viltrumite have weird physic. They can push on nothing to generate force and fly. This is explain in the scene when Omni man teach Mark how they are able to fly. So he can just stand his ground and not be moved by Red Rush. He have worked with them for years so he know that he will need to do that beforehand for Red Rush to not be relocated into a disadvantage position.
    Third, Red Rush know this when he feel his hand not moving Omni man at all like how Quick Silver able to juggle Apocalypse. So he have to stop and not fully commit to his punch because if he didn't it will break his hand and like trying to run into a wall. So in the small in between time when he have to stop he can be catched by Omni man if Omni man is expecting it. And sadly Omni was expecting him after a few punch to the face and was able to learned his attacking pattern. And we know Omni man is still fast as in routinely from nowhere to apeared to save the day fast. So in the small window Red Rush have to slow down and speed up, it was in his speed bracket to catch it.
    Fourth, because of the situation and confusion, Red Rush didn't go all out. (Omni man was their friend and have save some of them one point or another) So he didn't fully try to murder Omni man and was just trying to knock him out or something. And pair this with the fact he was the first to engaged Omni man, he wasn't as cautious as he should be like not speeding up as fast as he could and/ or got cocky because he was able to land a few hit or feel conflicted that he have to neutralize His friend / coworker.

So in response to being juggled at super speed, he could automatically start getting faster. Once he's able to perceive what's happening, he could push his body faster than its anatomy is adapted to, allowing him to act but at the cost of damaging himself. But since he can regenerate, then he can heal up afterwards.
    I think it would be simpler to just write it such that getting hit causes him to automatically adapt to the power used against him. The he just becomes fast enough to fight back. Then the scene could play out like how we see Superman start reacting and moving super fast in response to noticing the Flash.

    The secret to making speedster fights interesting is to give them opponents with lower-grade super speed, but a stronger speed react power, or vice versa. Make them *not* just a mirror match, and not a trash heap where the speedster is shown to be able to basically stop time with their reaction speed but somehow gets shot not even with a noraml bullet but a slow-moving sci fi energy blaster shot that even makes fancy noises and glows to be sure you can't miss seeing it coming.
    Also, I can see a valid argument for a fast enough projectile (like lightning bolt or laser or something) catching out a lower-greade speedster whose reactions haven't been shown to be sufficient to make such things seem like they're moving slow enough to dodge. In the wrong position, a speedster with that kind of power could be caught out against the wrong kind of weapon that they aren't able to effectively neutralise before the trigger is pulled. Get them in the right position to shut the shooter down before they pull the trigger though, and if they still lose... it's bad writing.

    I think while speedsters only lose to bad writing, they are only OP in bad writing too. Speedsters are only ever as quick as they need to be because writers seldom have an accurate sense of scale when it comes to motion and the implications that such speeds have. Any story that features a speedster is likely using them purely for spectacle, not likely considering their power so much as their impact; because how do you actually write them well without going mad from the academic-level research that would go into making them believably functional?
    I have noticed that a lot of the narrative failings with most speedsters comes from the failure to account for their secondary superpowers (ie super-perception, super-endurance, super-durability, super-metabolism) that would logically be necessary to facilitate the primary ability of "run real fast". Literally no speedster should be defeatable, as anything that can move fast enough to be considered "super speed" would have to be a biological brick shit-house. And yes, I realize I totally just contradicted myself; point is that Speedsters are bad characters to write.

  • @monke1419
    @monke1419 Год назад +9

    In most stories looked at as objectively as possible in fiction at this point, if character 1 reacts to an attack from a different character who has been established as a speedster type of character, it just has to mean they have reaction speed somewhat around the established “speedster” because we literally just saw them react to the speedster. You can say it’s kinda dumb because the writer isn’t giving proper emphasis or description to character 1 having reaction speed like this, but that’s pretty much what it means.
    That means even potentially if they’re just “peak humans” in the story somehow reacting to a character who can catch bullets, that just means the “peak human” can obviously do stuff that wouldn’t really be considered real peak human level just cuz it’s fiction. Just depends on the world their in and whether that’s reasonable given they like train or whatever maybe.
    As weird as it is to say, speed of movement in animation or live action scenes with super humans isn’t always indicative of how fast their going. Like Character A can block a bullet, and they’ll have a super wild visual where the whole thing happens in slow motion and the camera work is used super well to emphasize that it’s all super fast. Then in the next movie or episode it can have a Character B stated to be faster than Character A, and have him dodge a bolt of lightning, but the animation or camera work looks super flat and doesn’t really give off the impression it’s very fast at all. Then Characters A or B can fight an enemy and they can be trading blows at equal speeds, yet it looks like they’re just going regular human speed despite the fact that we know this is technically happening at bullet speed or lightning speed. Even though it doesn’t really look like it we have to give the benefit of the doubt and assume the established information is still true. So if omni man at some point dodges lightning and then he gets boxed up by some cyborgs, we kinda just gotta assume the robots have near lightning speed combat or reaction speed even if the animation doesn’t emphasize that at all.
    I do think this is really a problem in live action though because Superman is so fast he’s invisible in one scene, and yet later he fights an enemy and we see the fight go on and it doesn’t look as fast as it did before, because they’re live action it’s far easier for us to naturally assume they as just going slower than they were before for some reason even though they might’ve said something like “I’m trying harder than before”, “I have to go faster than I ever have”, or even just if the actor is clearly trying to display that the character is trying super hard.
    I think all this stuff is definitely the writers fault a lot of the time for not portraying the reality of their world in whatever medium it’s in (comics, movies, animation) in a way that makes it clear when a character is going as fast as they are supposed to be in order to catch another character. I think rather than looking at the scenes and going “all these characters shouldn’t be able to hit these characters who are way way faster than than them”, I usually complain like “this is dumb because there’s too many characters being made randomly fast enough to react to our primary “speedster” type character due to plot. And/or they didn’t even make it visually telling enough to assume without question that they are that fast from a purely visual perspective.” Of course sometimes it also makes sense for the characters to be that fast, and of course other times it’s literally just cuz the writer forgets that these speedster were written to have their super speed reaction time that activates reflexively, only to have them just get surprised by weapons or characters established concretely as considerably slower than them! To which I have to cope by trying to make sense of it by saying “oh they were just so off guard (even though they shouldn’t have been in context) that they’re super speed vision lagged for just long enough to get tagged.” But I’m just mentioning a possible alternate perspective to some scenes while still agreeing that it’s a failure of the writers.
    Also not really super important, but I will say I think most speedsters with established super speed vision/super speed reaction speed can turn it on and off whenever they please, and even sometimes have it activate as a reflex if that’s portrayed. Unless you’re someone like red rush, who I think sadly has his slow motion vision on at all times making his life super hard to live. But his dialogue with his wife to me definitely implied he literally can’t turn off his slow motion which is why he kept getting bored during their picnic conversation, and he is just somehow extremely good at talking super slowly for people to understand. Cuz if he just turns it off while he’s talking to people why would he bring it up as an honest excuse in regards to getting bored having a conversation with his girl?

      I'm fine with the idea that some superpowered kinds of reaction can work as if their owner had a much faster reaction speed than they "really" do, as if the nature of the superpower has basically created a new layer of the subconscious that works on different principles than the brain and can instigate a reaction to something that the brain itself (or in some cases, the person's sensory organs) is still unaware of, possibly sending the record of what its response still in advance of conscious awareness of the original act. Of course, the nature of that response ought to be at best an approximation of how the person would prefer to respond if they had the time to notice, stop, and think about it - but the same is true of real-world reactions.

    In defence of Superman, he had never faced Kryptonite before. The closest was Zod’s ship replicating Krypton’s atmosphere but even then, it wasn’t even toxic to him, it just negated his powers. This isn’t Christopher Reeve’s Superman where he’s learned about the existence of Kryptonite, how it affects him and then tells a reporter he likes all about it. This was the first time he had ever encountered Kryptonite, so he wouldn’t have any reason to treat a random green gas as a threat to him until he breathed it in (in which case, it’s too late)
    Also, he wasn’t going into the fight to actually fight. I still think it’s ridiculous he didn’t directly say “Bruce, Luthor’s behind all of this, he’s kidnapped my mother and is ordering me to kill you, but I think we can stop him and save my mother if we work together”. Sure, he tried saying that all at the start of the fight, but he had so many opportunities even before the Kryptonite went into play to say something

If he does than the RR fight is closer to making sense (still has the problem of the slow punch) but every other fight with Omni-man now is terribly written because he never uses that power. If he doesn’t have super-react all the other fights make sense again, but the RR fight is back to being total nonsense.

    It seems simple enough to write an interesting, "balanced" speedster. Instead of their speed/reflexes always being available, just establish that they can only slow time for a little while before they run out of energy, or need to eat, or get tired, or their heart explodes.
    Or like Feruchemy in the Mistborn series, where Steelrunners can save up speed by slowing down, and then later draw upon that stored speed to go fast.
    If you want a "Time in a Bottle" scene, then provide the speedster with an external energy source or amplifier that lets them go more fast for more time than usual.

    Anyway I was playing the new Spider-Man game on PS5 when something happened to make me think of your last video. BRO Spider-man totally gets the Speedsters writing treatment! One minute the precognition of his spider senses is almost god-like in the way it warns him of danger. It allows him to dodge and block everything from hidden traps, surprise punches, bullets traveling at the speed of sound and, even enemies who have the power to turn invisible. Hell! The precognition power of his spider sense is so broken and so overpowered that he can even sense people's bad intentions even if they're laughing and smiling. That means in a way he can almost read people's minds... that's crazy!
    Yet, when bad writing pops in Spider-Man can be knocked down because he failed to dodge a poll thrown by a common nobody henchman; all because the plot needed a reason for the main villain to get away. Bad writing! That's why they shouldn't give serial characters god-like cheat powers and expect the story to still have challenging obstacles. Or for readers to have tension, fear and, doubt about if their favorite character will win.

      I think that the whole perception thing that Red Rush had going on should’ve not been written in order for it to make slightly more sense. It’s probably what makes the fight worse, even if Omni-Man does have apparent speed react relative to his speeds, since Red Rush should still be virtually untouchable if he had a better strategy. But it doesn’t even matter at that point since Red Rush doesn’t need a sound strategy when he is essentially throwing darts at a slug.
