@@Raspukek-fu8un I don't think that's what they meant, both SOC & COP are where the good story is at. Anomaly is lots of fun but doesn't even hold a match to the glorious lantern that is the original trilogy. (that's to say- The story for the original trilogy isn't too deep either, but there's no canonical events in Anomaly & the story is just the SOC story copy/pasted into a modded hellscape)
If it makes you feel any better, the ending to COP is a little less bleak. (Unless you consider what might happen to the zone after COP...)

@@raizenxddlol dev build does not represent anything, i seen dev build also, and there is not much to see, because it's used for testing game assets, mechanics etc..i played also at gamescon and game is solid, atmosphere and everything is like in original but modernized.

Dev build (from late 2023) that has half finished map with alot of filler space between POIs, awful performance (after downgraded visuals!), casualised gameplay without soul (due to console release) and was scheduled to release early 2024 is very very BIG RED FLAG. Not to mention NFTs, "stop it, ukrainian people are dying" campagin and in general how they still play the victim role beside working from praga getting 2 million usd in donations

ok, looking at it now after the last trailers it really shows they tweaked quite a lot how the single elements fit in togeder graphically, it would be dumb just to say "wow graphics" and it's a prestty shallow comment generally, but here there's the sweet spot of "ok evewrything fits pretty well togeder"

Still no actual gameplay to this day. Only so called teasers and sunny weather. Zone is all but sunny weather.
The Stalker series never had proper gameplay, most of them were different cuts of small gameplay
You must be blind if you think every trailer features exclusively sunny weather, there's an obvious part with the iconic ferris wheel that features a bleak sky that looks almost like it's about to be emission time, complete with a flock of crows.
There's been some teasers of the gameplay (which, despite complaint, IS actual gameplay) and people HAVE played an early demo over 5 months ago now... so the stuff is out there, if you just choose not to look for it, you'll never find it.
Have you seen the Exclusion Zone? I think Drew Scanlon's documentary was the only time I saw weather there that wasn't exquisite.
I really really hope that this is not released unfinished. They should consider delaying it without a release date if this helps making the game better
They've been delaying it without a release date ever since they first teased a Q4 2021 release.

Yes, however, they had announced a release window in Q4 2021, then that was pushed back to Q2 2022, then it got delayed indefinitely after Russia invaded Ukraine (where the studio had to relocate). I'm simply stating that they've already been doing what the original post suggests they should do for almost four years. That is all I'm saying. Now that there is a hard release date, it's likely that the game is finished enough for Microsoft's liking, or they're just going to commit to a release this year for commercial reasons given the lengthy delay and deal with the consequences if it's buggy and unfinished.

The 1st Stalker is still the best FPS RPG I’ve ever played. I really hope this is the same or better.
Fail, this game is Escape from tarkov, although now its own creator wants to destroy it by ripping off its players, TARKOV is light years ahead of any other FPS role-playing game in history.

Well, with this game I understand the lengthy delay considering the talent that left the company to go fight in the Russo-Ukraine war.
This is the first hard release date that we've been given to my knowledge, so this feels like it will be it.
Well pardon them for having to deal with a literal war and devs in the team actually fighting and dying in it. So sorry my good sir for the delay.

I’ve been to Chernobyl and I can say one thing: jaw dropped, especially the kindergarten and the sport center. Of course power plant is like 500 m away from Prypiat which is completely fictional but still :) Can’t wait…
If you want to see the Chernobyl power plant come to Lithuanian, we have an identical power plant there, it's basically a sister plant, being decommissioned in 2009, they do tours even there too, see inside etc..hbo Chernobyl series was filmed there.

@@TheDrunkenPL What does it have to do with where you're from? if you write in English, the transliteration of the term into English is taken from the language of the state where this object is located, in this case Chоrnobyl. therefore, the translation from Ukrainian to English will be Chоrnobyl. Using a different transliteration in English is strange, to say the least. it's as if in English I would write the Polish city of Chełm as Kholm.

Well the original stalker was like cyberpunk, especially clear sky was only fixed with patches and community effort patches.
Wow Truck Cemetery is in the game . Anyways i hope they keep the traditional Factions like Monolith , Duty , Military etc.
They will, been confirmed already that old factions will return with some new ones

It's interesting how game graphics have gone, the faces are earily similar to what you would see on a real person's face.
It's not perfect, it will fold and wrinkle from an expression, even the hairs look like they sprout out from the skin instead of being just a texture of a part of the head as a model. And don't even get me started with the inside of the mouth, we may as well render the insides of a human.
Been around for 17 years since stalker released, imagine if they released stalker 3 after 20 years from now.
It's a far cry from the melted wax faces of old, but I'm sure in 2 years it'll look dated. Cartoon-y or over-stylized graphics seem to be the only way to really avoid that issue though and I couldn't imagine a Stalker game that doesn't look as realistic as possible.
Can almost see the entrance to the power plant that you have to get to before the blowout in Shadow of Chornobyl.
Gonna be doing a tour of all the locations from the trilogy
I wonder how much of the old zone will be explorable. My gut feeling is that we'll get some zones with memorable locations, but they won't be the same &/or they'll be smaller. I suspect most of the game will take place in the areas immediately surrounding the CNPP, Pripyat, Red Forest & the Dugar Radar areas, dead city.
The true single player tarkov is back.
I know the studio has its high share of problems with the world trying to develop this game. I just hope when it releases it lives up to the hype.

@@ikonhero The video also features the Truck Cemetery, a cut location from Oblivion Lost & faithfully recreated for Stalker: Gamma. In real life, it was cleaned up & buried in 2005-2014, leaving the area a massive empty clearing. The zone naturally makes clean up a lot harder, it seems!

I played at gamescon and can tell its very similar, they flank you and everything you expect to stalker AI, but i had anomalies like enemies looking at floor and spinning around, throwing granade to a wall and blowing themselves

@@AdolfoWWolf Yah i know playing stalker since release myself, actually the game was very buggy when it released, but official patches and community fixed lots of things so nowadays you will not see as much as before.
@@Krahamus Definitely, i've been paying Anomaly since 2020, and been having a blast, the stances where the Ai does these things are like 20% of the time, so it's not that often you will see it, but it happens, plus there are still some rare instance where the Ai simply will not react to you at all. Considering the odds, i'm ok with the game having a share of problems on release.

Besides cutscenes and much better graphics of S2, anomaly/gamma has much more things, but than again original stalker trilogy never tried to be like these mods, so S2 in terms of how it will play going to be same as trilogy.

Just got a new pc for about 2.5k euros, hope the rig will run this game. Trailer looks like on mediums settings, some shadows look the same like in the 1st stalker game.
Got a new PC for like 2K euros, it won't only run it but will run it on high. Hellblade 2 now that's the challenge
even a 800 euro pc will be able to handle it pretty well, the main question is if you want to play with a higher resolution and framerate

Im very skeptical... the only actual gameplay ive seen so far looked visually terrible and had serious stuttering. All this pre rendered cutscene stuff doesn't do anything for me
John Linneman from Digital Foundry said the build of the game ge played from last summer was really bad. I don't know how much it has improved, but I am still remaining skeptical with this game.

I have been at gamescon and tried demo, its not what people think, graphics yes not as good as in trailers but still good enough for modern game looks, and 10x times better compared to anomaly/gamma, and who knows what build of the game it was running and graphical full potential.
@@Krahamus They spent a lot of effort on the game (delaying it till Sept.5) in order to get the graphics to where people wouldn't complain anymore, wouldn't be surprised if we got another delay to make sure the ukrainian dub has lipsync

I think only fo english version....
speaking russian/ukrainian requires very little lip movement though it might be tweaked if the cutscene shows up in the released game
English version gets lipsync. We'll see if the finished game has working lipsync for both languages but I'd be surprised. I don't know how much dialogue the game has but I'm sure fixing that would take ages. Just play with english dub first & play with Ukraine dub afterwards so it doesn't break your immersion.

I suspect when extended gameplay and impressions come out that you will want it though.
Developers these days don't like doing full gameplay demos until the game is almost finished. In the past, they've often been smoke and mirrors and take money and time away from actually developing the game.
That's why the gameplay so far is a collection of short clips and they'll put out something like this which is mostly shots of environments that we'll be *playing* in. It's not a big deal.

Well i can guarantee someone will mod them in S2, you have AI machine learning voice nowadays, you can put old stalker voices to AI and then replace original ones in S2
