I agree I grew up off this show and it was the hottest show on The WB. But it had too many comparisons to Martin. That's why it wasn't bigger. And thats my take before even watching the vid
@brownin329 The WB canceled all their black sitcoms in the late 90's and replaced them with white ones and teen dramas. Look it up. It was a Dave Chapelle Skit.
Just watched that episode on Netflix and I can believe it because they had a chemistry even on screen that made you believe they could date in real life.
He was also in Johnson's Family Vacation with Cedric The Entertainer, Steve Harvey, Bow Wow, Solange Knowles, Pre-Boondocks Gabby Soleil, Vanessa L. Williams, Jennifer Freeman (Claire of My Wife and Kids fame) and Shannon Elizabeth
The Jamie Foxx Show was and still is my favorite 90s show. Over Fresh Prince and Martin. I love those shows, too, but the Jamie Foxx Show is number one.😊
Thank you for this story. Can we please get stories on the following underrated 90s shows: Roc Hangin With Mr. Cooper The Parenthood The Wayans Bros The Steve Harvey Show In The House Smart Guy The Hughleys Malcolm & Eddie
One of the BEST 90s sitcoms with a GREAT cast! Loved the chemistry between Fancy (Garcelle Beauvais) and Jamie! Jamie Foxx proved himself as a force to be reckoned with once this show became a WB hit! I'm so glad Garrett Morris was BLESSED with a much needed comeback! ❤❤❤❤❤
Besides Braxton on the Jamie Foxx Show, Christopher B. Duncan also did other shows and movies such as Martin, Family Matters, Living Single, The Parkers, The First Family, Original Gangstas and Johnson Family Vacation.
I hope you do stories on The Wayans Bros, Unhappily Ever After, The Parent'Hood, 7th Heaven, Malcolm & Eddie, Sparks, Dawson's Creek, The Steve Harvey Show, Reba and All About the Andersons next
Back when the JFS was on I was living in Central Texas,so it'd come on pretty late for a sitcom, but,I'd stay up to watch it.This also includes the Wayons Brothers tv show. Thanks for giving this GOOD sitcom some shine.
And both Jamie Foxx and Garcelle Beauvais both starred in the 2013 movie White House Down with Channing Tatum, Joey King, Maggie Gyllenhaal and the late Lance Reddick
I was in Middle School when The Jamie Foxx show was on the WB and I was watching it quite a bit during its original run and I enjoyed the show and I still watch the reruns on MTV 2 to this day. I honestly did not know that the final season had only 12 episodes, it reminds me of the final season of The Steve Harvey Show being so short as well.
Christopher B Duncan also played in Original Gangsters. He was also the voice of Luke Cage in the first incarnation of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Ahh , I remember that show. Unpopular opinion, Even though I didn't care for the show and my younger years as a teenager I think it's a fit for people who enjoy that type of comedy.
Fresh Prince, Jamie Foxx Show, and Cosby Show were addictive🔥🔥🔥🔥No matter how much times I watched the same episodes of each show throughout the years, I'd never get tired of laughing at the same comedic lines and jokes.😂😂😂✊🏾
My favourite episode is the one where Jamie and Braxton flew with an airline, and the pilot was a drunkard, so Jamie landed the plane himself. I also like the one with Ron Isley and Mary J Blige - he was a preacher, and she was his daughter. The latter wanted to sing secular music but the father refused, even though he liked that style of music himself. And there's the one where Jamie, Braxton, and Fancy got trapped in the fridge.
The Jamie Foxx Show is a classic!!! I used to watch the show every single day. I remember the time Jamie Foxx was getting started in the music industry. He is a great keyboard player who is originally from Terrell, Texas. He played Ray Charles with no problem, but he showed look just like him. I wish the show would come back on television for the re-runs. He had an all-star crew like Garrett Morris, Christopher B. Duncan, Garcelle Beauvais and Ellia English.
Christopher Duncan (Braxton) was also on “Martin” as the smooth brother who Gina was dating in the 3-part episode where she and Martin broke up. It’s crazy seeing this dude go from appearing on “Martin” in its prime, to appearing on “The Jamie Foxx Show” while “Martin” was on its last legs (1996 - Jamie’s first season; Martin’s last season).
The Jamie Foxx Show was a great show. I looked forward to watching every week. Bro. Christopher shoulda checked anyone or everyone about his name. Especially if he’s seeking other roles to play.
IMO "The Jamie Foxx Show" kinda reminds me of "Martin" in a way. Both are funny sitcoms. Jamie playing different characters just like Martin, Jamie had singers and rappers on his show just like Martin, Jamie and Fancy get married just like Martin and Gina, Jamie would clown Braxton at times, just like Martin would clown Tommy, Cole and especially Pam. Jamie had the same music playing in the background as Martin. Some TV shows are like that, but all in all a very funny sitcom.
I had a huge crush on Garcelle Beauvais when The Jaime Foxx Show aired. She was and still is beautiful ❤❤. She's also the one bright spot on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
One of the best 90s TV shows brings me so much nostalgia back to when I was 12 years old in 07 watching this EVERY morning on BET now they have it on streaming and I’ve watch every episode and will do again because that’s how much I love this show I put this over any other show Fresh Prince, Steve Harvey, Martin, those are all good shows in they own right but Jamie Foxx show just hits a little different for me
Man that driving school episode is top tier and hands down my favorite episode when he sung I will not exceed the speed limit like prince I die laughing Every time lmaooo
Christopher B. Duncan is underrated. This show was my absolute fave. I friggin loved Aunt Helen. I'm just happy we got a resolve for this show and it didn't get cut before it ended. Garcelle started out as a model. She was featured in alot of Mary Kay catalogs. I saw her pictures at the museum and said, 'That's Fancy!'
The jamie foxx show was my ishhh for older millennial! But honestly I was watching for garcelle beauvais aka fancy cuz I had a crush on her back in the day. Not to mention gary payton, vin baker, shareef abdur-rahim, and Kevin garnett made guest appearances on that show. Definitely 😴 on sitcom.
One of my favorite shows of all time. I remember the day this show premiered on August 27, 1996 I was in junior high and my big bro was in high school, and we were glued to the TV from the first second of that pilot episode until it went off. Good times.
What ends up happening is that these black shows get the audience built up. After they start getting more press and want to expand, they cancel them and whiten up the shows and characters It happened with WB and UPN when they made the CW
Jamie Foxx Show:WB Sunday Night Classic……Tyrone Koppel was a hoot and still have the Jamie Foxx show in my RUclips playlist……also the WB network did so many Sunday night shows dirty through the years…….smh
Christopher B Duncan played an attorney on Soul Food the series and of course it was a contrast to Braxton. I thought he did an awesome job playing that role so I understand why he doesn’t like being typecasted.
Honestly both theme songs cooked. I like the first one cause its so bouncy as opposed to the sentimentality of the second one. But as i said, they both slide 🎵
The season finale was beautiful! Christopher Duncan was phenomenal in original gangstas ! He can really act they should’ve gave him more chances it’s not his fault he did good at his job braxton p hartnabrig was a funny , respectful, nerd !
The 2nd intro sounds like a smooth Jazz with a Neo Soul type of theme, similar to the the early 00s era, which had a lot of Neo Soul themes in music, and movies.
What a great show. You had to be watching every week bc the whole school would be taking about it the next day! Since you mentioned them, do you think you can do an episode on the Wayans Brothers show?
I used to watch this show! I was always making comparisons between it and Fresh Prince, especially Jamie and Braxton reminding me so much of Will and Carlton.
The Traffic School Daze episode with Mark Curry is a classic
The funniest episode of the show
GOATED EPISODE
Jamie was hella swole after doing 1000 pushups 😂😂😂
HILARIOUS!!! One of the BEST!!!! 😂😂😂😂
That’s my favorite episode too🤦🏽♀️🤣🤣🤣
The Jamie Foxx show was underrated and never got the praise it deserved during its run.
I agree I grew up off this show and it was the hottest show on The WB. But it had too many comparisons to Martin. That's why it wasn't bigger. And thats my take before even watching the vid
Yes it did. It's just that praise back then looked different from what you are comparing it to today.
Because it was on the WB.
That's not true. You must be young.
@brownin329 The WB canceled all their black sitcoms in the late 90's and replaced them with white ones and teen dramas. Look it up. It was a Dave Chapelle Skit.
Update: Garrett Morris just got his Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and had a 5 season stint as Earl on 2 Broke Girls
LEGEND! ❤
As much as I love Garrett, he didn't do much on 2BG.
Garret Morris acting Résumé is something else
He did a good job in The Stuff.
He was in Cooley High. That'll tell you how long he's been in the game
Fun Fact:
Christopher B.Duncan married
Susan Wood,the actress
who played Cameron,
the GPS girl on the show.
They have three children.

Wow! Interesting. I wonder if they met on the show?

They did and instantly fell in love.
@@jaylene.turner6524 Wow!
Martin didn't win anything either...smh
Fun fact..... Christopher B. Duncan played a villain in the movie ORIGINAL GANGSTAS before he was Braxton
Yes. He also appeared on Family Matters & Martin.
Fun Fact:
He also was supposed to be in the Matrix but his role went to Harry Lennix
Fun fact:
This is a lie I made up
And he was kinda Sexy in that😂❤

I agree, mine as well
IDC what anyone says. This show would be nothing without Braxton, he owned every scene he was in, I'll stand on that.
(WITHOUT) Braxton 😉👍🏾 I got u bruh 😎
@@riznellousfactory 😭😭
I agree!!!
Christopher B. Duncan OWNED it as Braxton P. Hartnabrig. ❤

Sis I'm watching all the seasons on Netflix rn
Besides Braxton on the Jamie Foxx Show, Christopher B. Duncan also did other shows and movies such as Martin, Family Matters, Living Single, The Parkers, The First Family, Original Gangstas and Johnson Family Vacation.
My favorite episode was when Mary J. Blige and Ron Isley came on.
I didn't like how Ron treated Mary on that episode and neither did Mary, he embarassed the hell outta her like she was his real daughter

I love Jamie Foxx singing
He's a GREAT musician too. Definitely a triple threat! ❤️
Real question is why WB shows dont have reunion show, they have more fans than they realize.
I've been saying this since forever 😭
“Jaimie gets served” the episode were he battled Braxton was hilarious!
The show is on Netflix now too 😉👍🏾
Duncan is hood boss in bmf! Glad to see him working and breaking away from Braxton.
And both Jamie Foxx and Garcelle Beauvais both starred in the 2013 movie White House Down with Channing Tatum, Joey King, Maggie Gyllenhaal and the late Lance Reddick
The GREAT Lance Reddick. Such a TALENT! Bittersweet watching him on Netflix's Shirley. 😔

I LOVE watching The Jamie Foxx Show ❤❤❤😂😂😂one of my Favorites 👏❤
I always wished the theme song for Seasons 4 & 5 was made into a full length song. I love that intro.
