Well mike got the most skill in hardware and streaming so make sense its less scuffed so he can start on time. The others are late because technical gremlins even though they prepare before the time
@@Amaranthyne why delete the comment tho? It’s a fact that the others often start a little late which is not a bad thing. It’s just a fact. I don’t think anyone minds (and I assure you especially the others from oxtra don’t mind) so it’s just a nice compliment on Mike’s tech skills
My God that Colossus race was so exhilarating towards the end. I started watching this video casually while working but had to stop and cheer Mike's amazing overtakes and the final team win!!

On the Outside Xtra F-Zero alike stream the other day, Luke said something about maybe needing to invert a control in one of the games, and I was like whaaat? Might be something to do with original F-Zero games, but it did feel a bit like maybe Mike had rubbed off on him, ha
I thought this evening after work: "I'll check in on the Oxboxtras. I hope they've had a well deserved break over Christmas and new year but they're probably back to work now and there might be a nice list or something..." But instead you spoil me with two hours of Mike and Luke!! We don't deserve you but we do appreciate it. Happy 2022 pals!
I could just be forgetful but I don't remember many streams with just Mike and Luke? That was lovely to watch, you were so chill together I enjoyed every minute of the stream. I also enjoy Forza so would be happy to see this a regular thing!
For a high-octane racing game I love the combined ability of Luke and Mike to make this such a chill stream with really nice vibes. Watching this the next day while working and fighting off a cold and it's cheering me up no end.
I love the relationship between oxbox and oxtra. We have Jane tempting Ellen to the dark side in every oxventure episode, Mike tempting Luke to the chaotic side every chance he has, and Andy just overseeing the two of them as the cantankerous, disapproving but ultimately loving father :P
oh mannnn that last leg of the colossus was SO GOOD. when they hit the finish line i realized i had tensed my neck during that entire section. we felt the tension! amazing!
Was on the edge of my seat for that last race, excellent driving from the both of you (even when Mike put it upside down). I enjoy the F1 references as well. I'd love to see some more racing game streams down the line. Maybe if Luke does get into the more serious stuff, I think that would be great! "Learning about racing" Luke is one of my favourite Lukes.
Tuning is not easy, especially with some of Forza Horizon's little idiosyncrasies. Brake bias, for example, is the reverse of what you'd expect in the tuning screen: Want to increase pressure on the rear brakes so they'll lock up in sync with the front? Well, you don't move the slider to Rear-- if you want to increase the rear brakes' pressure, you move the slider to _Front_ at around 60-65%. Then there's the utter joy of spring rates, damping, and anti-roll bar tension. At least there's a long, straight highway to dial in gear ratios. Most maddening of all? Most would-be tuners probably never try because of how hard it is to bring up the telemetry HUD-- it's not mapped to the Xbox controller on default and they have literally run out of buttons to map because the game _insists_ you must have some really useless controls there before playing-- namely ANNA, a map button must be assigned to a controller button for some reason (when you can still use the Start menu instead!) and the horn. If you turn Rewind off, you do not need a Rewind button on the controls-- FH5 insists otherwise, so now I have absolutely useless buttons on my controller.
Honestly that last race was amazing. Luke keeping cool staying steady in the 3 4 spot the whole race, and Mike having trouble in the beginning and flipping his car at one point and clawing his way back up the pack was amazing.
I'm always enjoying car racing games on this channel. Not car racing games in general, I don't care about them but in Outside Xbox it's always very fun!
thanks to Mike's enthusiastic recommendation, i've also been playing this game a lot and it's really fantastic. it doesn't matter how little you know/care about all the side activities like tuning/stunts etcs, you can just start any race with whatever car and it will be fun. lately i've been playing too many games where grinding side tasks was a necessity to even play the main game and this is a good break, just jumping right in and winning if you race well enough
When Luke suggested the viewers might be 'even more tense' I realised my left hand had an absolute death-grip on my armrest. I was absolutely riveted to that last race and as ever you guys did a smashing job!
32:54 I make the effort to mention the tire class and the intended racing venue (road, rally, or drag) in my tunes' descriptions. I hope others would take suit. PS: Turns out that they now include such helpful info in the tune's description screen (tire type, drivetrain, motor swap) so now I have room to get poetic.
I could happily watch a couple hours of outside xbox "racing with friends " every week ! (•n• i rarely play racing games myself) Good job guys, that was fun!
Talking about boxy Toyota's from the 1980s, my parents had a 1981 (I think that's the year) Toyota Tercel. We called it the Brown Car, because it was this light tan color. 5 speed manual transmission and what I learned to drive a manual on. We still have it, but it's up on blocks. Engine was still good, but the interior was falling apart. I loved driving it. It's a pretty light car, so it could go seriously fast even with its little engine. No tachometer, so I learned to change gears by ear, and I still do that when driving a manual. It was the best car for taking out onto the dirt roads in the middle of nowhere and drifting around way too fast, lol. We had a new mini in the late 00s and early teens, and that one was pretty fun as well.
Army generals dismissed the idea of using airplanes for reconaissance because flying a hundred miles per hour everything below the plane must be an incomprehensible blur.
When Mike was trying to catch up during the Colossus race as it looked like they were about to win, I thought to myself "Shake and Bake" and had Talladega Nights memories.
Fun car fact: mike thought he was being offensive when he said "Japanese stallion" but there is evidence saying that might actually be how the car was named. The exact same car was sold in the states a dodge during a collaboration with Chrysler and Chrysler recommended the car be named "Mitsubishi stallion"
Drove the F50 when I was doing my drivers license (driving school offered one ride as a bonus) The fact that you barely need to touch the gas and it goes up to 30 km/h as soon as you shift into first is just insane. Sadly could only push it to 140 km/h, stupid Austrian highways :D

Ive put 100 hours into FH5 as of yesterday, horizon definitely my favorite racing series of all time it was gran tourismo in the ps1/ps2 era but soon as I played Forza Motorsports on the original Xbox I never looked back. I remember just loving being able to leave tire marks and smoke. Its one game I always buy every dlc love those expansions especially the hot wheels. And there’s 3 games this month I want dying light 2, horizon forbidden west and elden ring. I have been buying most games lately on the ps5 or SX even though my pc is more powerful. It all comes down to how much I hate digital games, it’s just a long long rental I prefer having a physical copy. The only advantage to digital is you can be lazy and not have to get up and get a disc out of the case and put it in the console. And it would be different if digital was cheaper and 85% of the time it’s more expensive which is really stupid.
Stream starts at 0:31!
Thx
Thanks my dude
