I went to look at the vods to see if it was an exaggeration or something but no, it’s legit 3 years since he’s streamed it 💀 I remember being so excited watching the vod as it came out
The silence and then cut to Hallowstream schedule had me rolling. Im sorry to miss Ellen's stream but this was great substitute. Thank you for the LOLs.
Oh dear, I heard Luke speaking dramatically without looking and for a moment I thought he would do one of his amazing horror story readings, sitting in the horror chair with his iconic chalice, talking about a horrible horse.
14:25 Already dead. Luke: "Continually surprised by spiders!" Me: "The Luke Westaway story!" Luke: "The Luke Westaway story!". I may have been a fan for a while.
Watching the Ellen's Souls Academy for the last weeks, after your enthusiastic "enemy number one!" and the horribly funny fall to your death, I wanted to say in a calm voice: "Luke. The game is working as designed, you are learning and will overcome this. Well done!" and burst into maniacal laughter afterwards.
Luke's original bloodborne stream series is legitimately one of the best let's play experiences of my life, because Bloodborne is my favorite game of all time. Seeing him go from a baby doe struggling to walk to him coming back years later and just obliterating this nightmare in half an hour is absolutely crazy, and it brings me great joy.
Same dude. I’ve never played it because i don’t have a playstation, but lukes play-through is my favourite play-through of this type of game. Possibly on oxtra too.
During that fight when he killed the Orphan, I thought, "It's a shame that this won't be the time. It's going so well, but the video is two hours long, and we're only half an hour in." Congratulations, Luke!
I missed Ray Sunshine! Luke's 1st Bloodborne playthrough is what finally convinced me to get into soulsborne games! They're hands down my favorite now! Cheers, mate!
Kudos Luke! Not just for defeating the Orphan in about 30 minutes but for your flexibility and willingness to try such a feat last-minute. In any case I always love watching your Soulsborne streams as it's a fantastic demonstration of patience and mental reframing (lost my souls? I'm so much lighter now!)
Such a relatable moment when Luke collects his blood echoes anyway, even though he knows it’s pointless because he’s died multiple time in a row without getting them
Missed this when it was going live, but it's cool to be watching this after the fact anyway. Your playthrough (which I didn't watch live either) was what taught me everything I needed to finish Bloodborne for the first time and now I've gone on to finish it like 6 times and platinum it. Keep up the good work!
Hallowstream ratings! Content warnings: blood, gore, screaming - and that's just from Luke, never mind the Orphan! Horror rating: 2/5, though the fear mainly came from watching his healthbar drop! Entertainment rating: 5/5, unexpected stream but boy do I miss Bloodborne! Luke was on fire (literally by the end)! Favourite moments: "Enemy number one" and "End of stream, bye!"
I dare anyone to name a more iconic Soulsborne series run than the player psyching themselves up, only to meet their first fate at the hands of gravity
I'm currently playing Bloodborne for the first time. I'm just at Laurence The First Vicar in the DLC.(He can get in the f@*king sea!) This is going to be such a treat! Watching Luke play Bloodborne is one of my favourite Let's plays.
I cannot believe what I've just seen. The joy the origional bloodborne stream gave me has all flooded back at once. I am so proud of how far Luke has come since he started. Thank you for another wonderful bloodborne stream.
that was very impressive killing Orphan of Kos in 3 tries, contrasting with dying the first enemy on screen and both times Luke choose to bring up the end stream screen lol though where was the celebratory bolt paper
Woohoo! Well done! Like others have said, it was watching you and Ellen with the Souls games that has gotten me trying Elden Ring! So thanks and congrats again! :D
There was just something, dare I say magical, about Luke's BB playthrough 3 years ago. I never watched let's plays, let alone entire playthroughs up to that point, and I've already beaten Bloodborne before those streams. Yet after watching Luke play it, and visible loving almost every second of it, made me want to play it again. And I have, platinumed it no less. It's now one of my favourite games ever. Luke you truly made people fall in love with this masterpiece. Well freaking done mate.
Man Luke's celebration is an example of why I love these channels. The pure relief and joy they are willing to display raises my heart whenever I see it.
This was such a lovely surprise. I’ve been watching Luke while doing my first play through of Bloodborne and I’m up to Orphan who is teaching me a hard lesson. Luke you are so calm and a joy to watch. Hopefully I’ll beat Orphan soon too. Thank you
Update! I just did it. I really didn’t know if I ever would. These games teach you that perseverance will pay off and the euphoria of success is amazing
Congrats, Luke! It was amazing to watch live. It was so good to watch a live Bloodborne stream after so long. I'll say it again that those Bloodborne streams are why I got a PS5, got Bloodborne, and got more into gaming. Don't feel bad about Laurence. He was the worst for me on my first run, so I'm dreading NG+. He's one that is almost broken from NG+ onward. He already has the second highest hp in the game; only Living Failures have more hp. He drops a pathetic amount of echoes for how tough he is. They should have adjusted him to be less powerful or adjusted so he drops a lot more echoes instead to make it more worth it. Oneshot attacks, tough to read moves, etc. One of the worst boss runs in the game too, imo. I hate that fight so much. I go so stuck on him my first time that I went off and fought the Orphan instead and had way more fun. Orphan of Kos and Nameless King rank up at the top of my most favorite and fun Soulsborne boss fights. Very difficult fights that also feel fair and are very fun. Laurence and Sister Friede are, for me, polar opposites of those 2 and are fights I cannot stand at all. Very difficult but they don't feel fair to me; just a lot of bs.
Loved your first playthrough, and didn’t realise how much I missed Ray. Don’t forget to claim that first death was a completely intentional homage to the famous Taurus Demon moment! BTW, massive congratulations - not just the Orphan, but the NG+ Orphan. And so quickly! You need to replay this clip every time self doubt or imposter syndrome hits.
It's cool how doable the bosses become after you've worked out how to beat them. Something similar happened for me with Sekiro. It took me 5 hour+ long sessions to beat the final boss the first time. When I went for the platinum achievement, I beat the final boss on my first try in ng4
LUKE! What do you mean.....What.Do.You.Mean!? You make this look so easy....gives me the absolute false confidence that I can do this. That was so impressive. I'm both immensely happy for you....and also furious. I just....wow.
I love that Luke did the intro in his Victorian Gothic Horror Storytime Voice. Makes me want to go back and readalong to some lovely M. R. James, or William Hope Hodgson. "Horse of the Invisible" sounds like a bloodborne boss. So happy to see Ray Sunshine back again. I missed his handsome face, elegant rolling, and massive saw cleaver.
I was listening to this on wireless headphones while cooking, and as soon as I heard him narrating Kos's moves in a monotone voice, I knew he was at least gonna get close early on. *salute* Well done, sah!
Amazing job on the Orphan! I picked up the DLC after completing the game for the first time, and made the mistake of doing my first DLC run on NG+. It's no joke.
It really is astounding how easy souls games can be on a second playthrough Not because you're better leveled, since that's only really the case in the first half of the cycle, but because that skill sticks with you. Awesome work, Luke, utterly blitzing the Orphan of Kos (or some say kosm) without Bolt Paper
That was quick! Kos is nasty, but I will always view Ludwig as the tougher DLC boss. The pain he has caused me still lasts with me years later, but in a good way. He's my all time From Soft favorite, that monster. And long live single healthbars. I finally finished Sekiro last week and those healthbars resetting (and posture restoring) is pure frustration.
I made the mistake of fighting OoK for the first time on NG+. 83 blooming attempts, almost broke a controller. Once again Luke "One Shot" Westaway takes the absolute pisscatarian (because its a fishing hamlet, cue groan)
Although I'm sad for no fear academy, at least we got Luke fearing and raging at one of bloodbornes hardest bosses for our entertainment. Nicely done Luke for rescuing hallowstream and send regards to Ellen, who was probably not best pleased to have her flight delayed.
When Luke said it’s been 3 years since he streamed Bloodborne I think a part of me died. That series kept me sane that year, where has the time gone.
I went to look at the vods to see if it was an exaggeration or something but no, it’s legit 3 years since he’s streamed it 💀
I remember being so excited watching the vod as it came out
Three YEARS???
Luke easily killing an orphan? Typical
Deep cut, man. Deep cut.
O' kos he does
You didn’t have to kill Luke like that…. RIP
@@doctorwhy6366well he didn’t need to make the orphanage out of of orphans did he?
Got 'im RIGHT in the jibblies, too. >:D
Stream starts at 3:36! Orphan's screaming starts not long after.
Trust you to get there first you legend 😅
I don't know, I keep thinking I will but I just can't skip past this banger of an opening. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year
Thanks my dude
Spoiler : stream ends at 34:08 , anything after that is bonus content :)
@@lilianlepesme6935 you might as well not even put the word spoiler if you're not going to space it out🤣🤣:
Spoiler:
Stream ends at.....
10:14 Enemy N.1
I laughed out loud several seconds later and immediately liked the stream. Don´t change, ever
Elite Bloodborne gameplay starts at 10:06
Ha, saw this comment right when the elite gameplay started
Trust Luke to have Ellen's flight delayed just to play more Bloodborne on stream
Or she delayed it herself to postpone fear academy 😅 With her reaction to getting got in the brief footage of her trying out Help Wanted 2
Ok I came here looking for this comment when I couldn't find Ellen's video for today. Thought I got my days mixed up
Legend
Sounds about right.
😆👍
Still obsessing over Bloodborne years after he has beaten it, Luke has now completed the cycle of every Bloodborne fan
I miss those, loved listening them while studying.
Loved it, particularly "enemy number one!" from 10:00 onwards 😁 Should be in the end of year highlights, lol
Oh fine I'll take a break from my yearly luke plays bloodborne rewatch to watch luke play bloodborne!
"Let's overwhelm our enemies with sheer violence" - Luke Westaway, 2023
14:25 Already dead.
Luke: "Continually surprised by spiders!"
Me: "The Luke Westaway story!"
Luke: "The Luke Westaway story!".
I may have been a fan for a while.
10:14 That was too perfect 😂❤
Excellent stream Luke! Huge congrats on the quick boss kill!
Holy hell Luke that first enemy was the hardest I've laughed at any youtube video in a long while, possibly ever.
10:13 I felt that in my soul
Clearly, accepting bolt paper into your heart (if still not your game) gave you the good energy you needed. :)
What exactly is bolt paper. I’ve never played bloodborne
@@thejason755A consumable that adds a flat amount of bonus Electric damage to every hit with a weapon. Generally one of the best items in the game.

The enemy #1 flub literally had me laughing so hard. Absolute gold.
Don't let Ellen off her Fear Academy! >:3
Must simply reschedge~
Don’t think she’ll get away with it 😅 Especially if Andy or Jane was going to ‘help’
Man I need more Luke and Ellen FromSoft game streams.
Unbelievable. To even consider attempting this after last time. Señor cojones grande. I bow before you Mr Luke.
Enemy number one: gravity. Checks out. 🤣🤣🤣
Such a relatable moment when Luke collects his blood echoes anyway, even though he knows it’s pointless because he’s died multiple time in a row without getting them
