I really can't figure out Shiva and Leviathan at all. I can only seem to get her pressured by the fire spell like a third of the time when clearly stunlocking her with it is integral to soloing her, and I can never stagger Leviathan slowly enough to kill it before it does Tidal Roar, so I just have to summon Bahamut and run in circles for a minute (which does the job of ending Tidal Roar very nicely and I just kick Levi's ass.) Shiva is the one I actually seem to have the most difficulty fighting because I can't pin down any kind of consistency in how she stuns. Once I solo her the rest are ironically much easier, subject to my patience of course :P
The biggest tip that seems to help others with Shiva solo is learning how double pressure her with fire. The 1st time is easy, but the 2nd time you gotta hit her with a fire before she calls out frost familiars
@@jianuzzi I noticed that. She seems to have to "decide" that she's going to start using the frost familiars, and you need to figure out exactly when. If you're just a little too early, tough beans. If you're a little too late... well, get ready to run around blocking or hop around parrying a lot until she uses just the right sequence of moves to run out of them for a couple seconds.
@@jianuzzi I am however finally starting to get the hang of Shiva. She is extremely unpredictable and the timing windows are absurdly tight, but I've had a few pretty nice runs over her now. Absolutely horrible boss fight, my least favourite in the game by far. I'm slowly getting my head around Leviathan and not staggering it quite too early as well (usually I've got it weak enough by Tidal Roar I can just zap it two or three times and it's over, but at least twice I've been able to prevent even that stage.) Now I just need to stop choking when I get to Bahamut, because Umbral Strikes is a real bastard move and I'm not always ready for it. You'd think hitting circle followed by square followed by circle again would be a simple enough concept :P
@ReloadPsi ya dodging the umbral strikes takes timing. Everyone can dodge it, even Barret. I actually went over to Chadley and did some test runs on Bahamut to practice dodging umbral strikes with everyone there. Just bring a heal and have steadfast block equipped. Using parry materia makes dodging the umbral strikes much easier if it gets annoying trying to do a regular dodge
@@jianuzzi Ironically, I'm better at just dodging it the normal way with Barret, but with Cloud I always have to use the standard attack lunge or else I can't get it right :P As for Aerith, let's just say I'd better guess the right time to use an 'aga spell.
Cross slash is faster to get limit. Use refocus, stagger, and limit. With Ascension you need more time after the refocus for it to be available. Cross slash is just faster to get
Hey bro, I see that your cloud's animation in punisher mode is different from mine!! 😮 When cloud lifts the sword with one hand and then hits it at the ground
Interesting strat on Ifrit. I was surprised to see you didn't go for the fire absorb, but I guess the Counterstrike AoE came in clutch there.
Ya don't really need to worry to much about defense when you got the gotterdamerung
What's funny is how counterstance still works on Ifrit when you DO have fire absorb. Poor bastard gets hosed.
Very curious on the summons we may be getting in Part 2.
Same here. I'm curious if they'll still add different Bahamut summons like neo and zero
@@jianuzzi hopefully theyre actually useful then :D
@@vonix9199 real talk! Summons have pretty much been useless since FFX
Insane… good work!
Thanks!

love your videos! BTW any particular reason for choosing cross slash over ascension?

@Cloud CS true. I have hit them both with Ascension before but that was just luck that they were so close lol

That Shiva fight though lop smooth as heck!

Can you also explain the purpose and function of agid aura please, thank you
Algid aura is just free extra damage. Nothing else besides that
@@jianuzzi It also becomes a Regen for 0 MP cost if you link HP absorption to it. Probably not as good as the actual regen, but still.
this is pretty crazy stuff guy, but seriously, there are other video games, horizon 2 is pretty amazing
