Good progress, Grahame. I think you will have kindling for the entire winter. 😄 I discovered both your channel and French Countryside Life about the same time last year. I watch both channels. Cheers-
My first thought,Yess, he is not wearing flip flops 🩴but a safety shoes. You did get the exercise of the day when you hopped on the beans like a rabbit🐇Graham,Hahaha.
Have been watching you since the first vlog Grahame. Love your work ethic and the almost complete gite. Looking forward to seeing progress on the house. Love that 99% of your vlogs are working on the building. Loved watching your woodwork which is superb and you are a man f many talents. x
Hi Graham you’re a very hard worker I really enjoy watching your videos. Lifting the floorboards must have been a struggle, but as always you got on with it. Nice to see Colin 👏
I like to use a floorboard lifter. looks like a pair of crow-bars that are just wide than the joist. it lifts the board with large supports and allows you to remove some boards without damage. the wood looked so old that it seemed brittle and nothing was going to stop them from breaking. with the cost of lumber today, it can pay for the work instead of making more to cut them up. also, I like to try to remove the nails as that can be easy and fast with the right puller. cutting them off can make it difficult later on in the work. but great work in getting the work moving. loved that you like to clean up. nothing is worse than working in dirt.
Morning Grahame. Great video and once again a lot of back breaking work. Nice to see Colin and you looking so relaxed and having a great time. Did you count the number of nails? LOL. Take care mate. Cheers, Huw
Cheers Grahame. That came out really well. It was fascinating to see the old insulation in the bags. I'm guessing that would have come from the sawmills that supplied the boards. I don't think you'll run short of kindling anytime soon. 😀 Speak soon. 👍🏼
I was coming here to ask the same question. In my area older wood is quite valuable even if it is a bit torn up. It can be resold to help fund a renovation.
About the well. You were thinking about putting a pump in it. You should try the GoPro, if possible, to see how the stonework is, down there. It is probably older than the house. And to see the state of the water, as well.
I know it's not to everybody 's liking but I would have kept the old floor as it was (as long as it was not rotten but it looked very dry) and just sand it and oil it 😊
Great to have visitors. The floor is coming along well. Always good to get my notification of a new session.
Great progress on the floor. Lovely to see Colin & Jane spending time with you. They are a lovely couple. Till next time. Mind how you go. 👍🏻😉
Wow, it really looked like you were dealing with the dust of the ages there! Looking forward to watching further developments.
Nice start on the floor Grahame. Nice to see Colin 😘
I was thinking those floral curtains were not bad and could be salvaged, but I guess not....Also: I miss the steel-toed flip-flops!

Well done it looks a lot cleaner already.👋👋👏👏😄❤️
Hard work pays off, and man do you work hard. The place is looking great.
I was hoping you would preserve the beams and top of the below ceiling. Great job.
I bet you're still coughing up dust, great job pulling up those old floorboards and then taking the time to repurpose them into kindling.

I was looking forward to seeing ancient treasure being revealed under the floorboards NOT insulation! Great progress

My goodness they were making sure those floorboards were staying put Graham.
After spending all that time balancing on the beams you will be ready to join the women's olympic gymnastic team.

Hubby was wondering if you know what the floor board timber was.
Those floor boards were stubborn to get up.

Sad to see the floor go but I know it’s too rustic and needed since insulation is a good idea.

Could those floorboards be reused rather than cut into pieces?

Morning Huw...

Great Idea, though a bit nerve racking... but will give it a go on the next trip, in three weeks cheers

trick of the camera, my foot went through them twice... when we originally viewed the house the agent wouldn't let us walk on it.. thanks for watching
Great vid. Why didn't chuck the boards out of the window? Also when you do a time lapse you could have the Benny Hill chase tune.😀😀
👍😎
I’m sorry but I think we have already seen this video before. Was the first part a repeat? Great job anyway 😊
👍👍👍
