I haven't thought about it, but yeah I guess every gig job requires a lot of driving whether it's instacart, grubhub, uber or whatever else.

I think it's less wear than most cars. if not, I imagine the fuel savings still outweighs using a different vehicle

Unless you asked before hand you gotta be careful with what you say about Amazon as an employee, as an employee myself you can get fired for talking about the job on social media. Unless drivers have a different contract then warehouse workers.

Just be careful of loose dogs. My brother delivers for Amazon and he was bit by a dog delivering a package.
I drive for doordash and ubereats and the house numbers are the worst. Sometimes I have to Google the address to confirm its the right house. I wish people made their house number clear, on the mail box, clearly on the curb, clearly on the house with big numbers. 😂
Dogs are by far the biggest issue, it's seriously bad in the rural areas. One house had numbers and I swore I took the GPS correctly but it still wasn't lining up, then I finally realized the 6's had fallen over and read as 9's
I've been working inside an Amazon warehouse for about 3 years and I just recently moved to Virginia to keep it going in order to be able to afford my Vet Tech studies. Although many say otherwise, the benefits far outweigh the negatives when it comes to working in the warehouse, all subjective though.

Do you get paid for the trip back to the sorting location when returning undelivered packages?
nothing extra, but you're allowed about a day to return packages. luckily I rarely have undelivered, but in times I do, I just schedule another shift the next day to make it worth the trip
@@GoHerping Oh That's interesting. Makes sense to return undelivered next day when you get another shift. This was one of the reasons I never did Amazon flex. Thought you had to go back same day

I got super confused one morning when there was a package outside super early. I just assumed I missed it the evening before. I didn't realize they get delivered in the middle of the night.
turns out the Amazon machine runs 24/7!
It's interesting to see this coming from a different perspective cause I'm a full time worker getting ready to start yourtube as a hobby. If it turns into a little part time job thats cool but I won't ever make it my full time job. I like having a Roth 401(k) and enjoy the feeling of leaving work at work and being done. Plus I need to socialize and my office environment is great for that! I like being a cog in a machine, less anxiety thay way 😊
I think any form of income diversification is great. Although I wouldn't be surprised if I go back to full-time RUclips at some point. After all, I could always dial back again and restart a second job
@@GoHerping That's definitely true you have plenty of options and keeping RUclips as your primary lets you get into easier entry level positions. Plus as people get older income changes in other ways too. It especially changes if you get married then have the income of a spouse as well as the tax benefits which my husband and I will be experiencing for the first time next tax season.
I'm in the same position as you and you made me want to do deliveries ! When you work for yourself, alone for a long time, Having a work/part-time job with kinda no responsabilities and pretty chill, could be the dream

Very admirable to not beg for money and actually do something about it yourself! There are times where you may need help from others and ask for it which is absolutely ok but, when you are in a position to change your situation for the better and actually do so, it is refreshing to see to say the least. that bit about the supportive work environment i really feel! i recently moved and while my last job was also great, i was a manager for the better part of 5 years in a place with no real corporate structure. my new job every manager and colleague is so kind and even after having a medical emergency and having to take a week off and whf for another week it was very weird but also touching when i went back in and the management was asking if i needed more accommodations and if i was feeling ok. it was so refreshing. it really is nice to have a team that really feels like a team instead of just one dude managing a group of monkeys. anyways i’m glad to see you take things in stride and i’m interested to see how you continue to adapt and bring us along!

I would appreciate if you keep on doing videos here and there, but do what you need to do. If it's like a video a couple times a month, so be it for the time. I think it'll happen to more and more youtubers as the platform ages and more people experience high but temporary income. teslas really are the perfect car for it! The route in this video cost me $15-20 in charging, it would have been over $40 of gas in the subaru

8:54 - Back when I drove for Uber in a rural-ish area the first thing I noticed is how difficult it was to find some homes and I started saying "If your Uber driver or pizza delivery driver can't find you, how the hell is EMS or the fire department going to find you?" Since then, I've ALWAYS made sure I have a highly visible address on my mailbox.
Please do Amazon delivery videos. Your previous driving around and picking/delivering reptiles are my favourite videos.
