I used to work at a grocery store when insta cart shoppers became more of a thing. What pissed me off about them is some would find you and have you take them through their whole list and basically do the job for them. Thank you for not being that guy.
AGREED! I had so many people ask me in retail where things were. It is a huge problem and I feel like instacart isn't as successful as other apps because of really dumb decisions they make and lack of tech and support.
This guy is great for shopping!! I do instacart and I only ask if im not sure if I'm looking in right spot and cant find it on my own, Most of the time I find it or their out. Pretty much how he's doing it.
Honestly I’d kill it at instacart for my local stores, years of wandering up and down the aisles would finally be worth something but it doesn’t seem like it’s worth the money lol Kroger deliveries are all through instacart and if I ever use it again I’ll tip better and judge less😅
Do shipt, atleast try it, it definitely depends on location , for myself personally I'm right by target, meijjer, and local grocery stores so it's easy peasy and the farthest delivery I take is 10 miles max
I loved my Shipt shoppers. I had one woman do all my shopping for months. When I moved I was so sad. She even gave out valentines cards. I always tipped her really well.
@@emberglar5466 yaa, shipt isn't even in my area. I tried to sign up for it and it declined my zip code saying Sorry, shipt isn't available in your area yet, check back soon 😕
As a very frequent Instacart user - THANK YOU. We appreciate you like crazy. I've considered doing it myself, since I've got tons of experience as a shopper and a Mom (lol), but yeah - seems not worth it. I'm now glad that I'm a really good tipper! LOL
My friend did a little bit of doordash but she said when the offers come up, it gave her like 5 seconds to accept or reject it, and also each one would get progressively farther from her house, so she'd see something pop up and be rushed and accept it and then realize it was on the other side of town or a part of town she's afraid to drive like the highway or something, and it's too late to rethink it. Really kinda gross.
Street driving only offers you the illusion of control. Its way more dangerous than the highway where everyone is doing the same exact thing instead of sideswiping each other trying to get to a mcdonalds on horrible american street/road hybrids
I’m a doordash driver and I’d like to clear up some things all of you are talking about. 1. Doordash gives you 30 secs to accept an order, not 5. 2. No, it’s not too late to rethink accepting an order, you can quite literally cancel it for whatever reason you want. So if you accidentally accepted one, no biggie. Just cancel it. 2. No doordash does not purposely give you orders that take you further away from where you are (unless your acceptance rate is low…😬). Just don’t accept them if you see them. 3. I don’t know if your friend has common sense but doordash literally tells you the miliage and gives you a map on where the house is, where the restaurant is, and where you are on that map all before accepting an order. If they are afraid of driving on highways maybe she shouldn’t take the higher mileage orders…. 4. Insinuating that doordash is gross bc your friend doesn’t know how to work the app was really funny lol 5. Yes, waiting for the timer to end will effect your acceptance rate. I learnt that the hard way after wasting 30 secs not declining orders thinking that it didn’t but it does. Acceptance rate is also important because if it’s high that’s how you get the good orders. If it’s low you will only get crap orders like the doordash base pay ($2.50) with no customer tip for a 10-20 mile order 😭 so keep that acceptance rate up!
6 mins in and I am having so much anxiety imagining doing this. I was slightly debating this as a side gig but nope nope nope. Thanks for doing this. Saved me a stressful failed attempt.
Honestly it doesn't hurt to try, and of course u become better at shopping the stores with time. I see so many older gentlemen and woman shopping instacart and seem to be managing fine.
Instacarting is very stressful and a pain in the a$$ for what you get paid which isn't that much. Idk how people do it but good for them if they make good money. It's just a TON of work 🙃
@@TheeRighteousOnee it's really not. As long as you're being mindful of the orders you take, you can make a lot of money without much time or effort. I've made $190 in 3 hours this week. None of them have delivered more than 3 miles away from the store, and no order has had more than 25 items
I ubered groceries one time when I was quarantined with covid. The shopper picked out a bunch of fruit for me that was rotten and bruised. So I appreciate you actively choosing not to give them the gross strawberries. It gives me a bit of hope with humanity lol
I just recently Moved to a new state, but before I did I was in the same house my whole life. We lived right behind a grocery store that I also worked at at one point. Because I knew where everything was and the town was small, I was able to make $35+ an hour via instacart. I was fast and everyone was within a 20 minute radius of delivery. It was great while it lasted.
Oof, massive props for doing this. I hate shopping for myself, let alone for someone I don't even know. I used to do Walmart spark or whatever it's called. Employees would do the shopping and I just had to deliver it to the house, it wasn't bad. Thank you for the entertaining videos!
@GoHerping from what I've seen, it isn't. Especially since you don't have to shop! And most of my deliveries were within a closer distance to the main store
@kitsune0rei I used to get tips. It was similar to how @goherping explained in one of his last videos, it was completely dependant on what area I delivered to. Not so great in low income areas and pretty decent in middle/high class areas. It wasn't a bad gig
As an ex-Instacart shopper.... your experience is about the norm. They all live forever from the store and they always order the weirdest stuff that you've never seen before. The wear and tear on my car was nuts. You were also VERY lucky that your customers responded to you. Very often I'd have customers that wouldn't respond to messages at all, OR they'd message you back while your walking up to check out with 10 things they want you to adjust. Its so frustrating. The app is also very buggy and I had a lot of issues with the barcodes scanning properly. There were some items that just don't scan, and some produce that scans as different sizes/brand/whatever than what the packaging says so Instacart is like NOPE, despite you being correct. We also have a bunch of like weird little organic stores that are set up weird as hell and Instacart has little to no information on where *any* of the products are (Much better at say, King Soopers but still not ever perfect) and they are a nightmare to find stuff in. Despite being tiny, they never make any sense. In my experience you'd be better off doing DoorDash. The time required for those orders is drastically less 99.9% of the time because you're just driving to a food place, picking up food, and then driving it to them. No shopping involved. The most effort you put into getting the order is walking in to a restaurant and saying "I have the DoorDash order for X Y Z" and then waiting a few minutes for it. Many places have orders set out so you can grab and go, and some you can even use the drive thru. I switched from Instacart to DD because waiting for batches and all the extra time and work involved with Instacart just wasn't worth it. Made more money/hour with DD, even up to 25-30$ per hour during peak times and *usually* about $17-20/hour on average. Note: I was working in a suburban area near Denver so, there was plenty of orders. Not sure how less urban areas compare.
I’m someone who uses Instacart semi-often. I have a disabled child who really hates going to the store because it stresses her out so much. My husband works all the time, so if I find I’m missing ingredients for dinner, or if I need bread or cereal, to Instacart I go. I’ll be increasing the amount I tip after watching this!
Instacart varies so much by the area you shop in and your speed as a shopper. I've been shopping Clifton Park, NY since April 2018 and I'm making around 25-30 dollars an hour. Try moving around to different areas in your state and see where the tips are the best. Also, there's no way you can use an electric car for Instacart. I'm driving anywhere from 100-200 miles per shift. For the replacement glitch, you have to hit "can't scan barcode" and take a picture of the item.
Some of my amazon days have been up to 250 miles, it never takes more than one charging stop, I just didn't prepare in advanced for this lol. I'll try the can't scan barcode thing for the next one!
I live in Australia and I’m sure we have similar. As you said “mums can zip through because we know where things are” It’s true. I would love this job. I love grocery shopping.
These videos have been great. For people who are trying to make a little cash or are looking to do something different, this is information that is super helpful. Also incredibly entertaining
You can just grab a premade salad for like 4 bucks while at the grocery store. Or a sandwich. Both of which could also be brought from home. I wish I could do this in my area. Amazon flex, uber, instacart, DoorDash etc are not accepting any new people in my area.
I Instacart in additon to my full time job. You have to be very selective of the batches you take and at which stores. Here in Raleigh I go for Wegmans, Publix, or Costco/BJ/Sams Club. People who order from these stores tend to leave bigger tips (where most of your money comes from). I generally make $25-$30/hour.
Ohh I know publix pretty well, plus I actually like it there, but I think it's too expensive, so I may hang around that area next. I know lowe's foods and Target layouts the best but I haven't seen any batches at either yet. Do you need your own sams club membership?
@@GoHerping No, you wont need your own club memberships, just your instacart ID. You may want to invest in little wagon for the lots of water orders though haha ^^
The few times I've had to order from a grocery store, I always clicked "No Substitutions". But, I shop the same way irl, if they don't have it, I'll get it later or at a different store. I'm mostly jealous y'all have brown paper bags, lol. I just started dashing about a month and a half ago myself. Been enjoying your vids :) Great info, thanks!
I used to work moving specimens around to different major hospitals in my state. One that I went to daily was a 3 hr drive out. When you talked about food, it made me remember all the shit I used to eat while driving. It's so much easier to grab fast food, but it adds up so fast and is just generally so bad for you.
1. I’ve been doing instacart part time for about 2 years. Everything that you’ve said about it is true. I’m taking a break because it’s mentally exhausting and time consuming 2. All my clothes are black and white. If I wear black shorts or sweats I wear a white top or sweatshirt. I also have two pairs of shoes. Yes, one black and one white. I have a white/light grey jacket and black jacket. Very little thought process 😂 anywho, keep up the good work
Couple tips. Don’t start shopping until you are in the store. Look at the list before starting to shop. Timing is everything Also if your going during the weekdays. You need to be at wegmans when they open or shortly after. Costco and Sam’s club at opening time is good during the week. Also. If you don’t like shopping to begin with, this job isn’t for you. I love shopping and know where everything in the stores are.
My first batch was at a staples as well lol but also had a bad time with instacart. The store map was only available in about half of the stores I shopped. Dope video bro thanks for sharing your experience!
My fiancé is a student and does instacart on Sundays. Here in NC (primarily the Chapel Hill Wegmans). The usual take home is about $200-$230 for ~8 hours.
dang. i feel like chapel hill is mostly wealthy retired people. not to mention all those overpriced organic stores. so maybe it's worth the extra few miles to make it over there lol
If you do end up signing up for Uber or Lyft, see if you can manage to rustle up a referral code from someone in your market. They should each give you anywhere from an extra $300-$1500 after you complete a certain number of rides, but you gotta put that code in before you start. You'll probably make more multi-apping with rideshare than you do with IC/Amazon. At least, you do in my market.
Hey Alex - I've done a lot of these gig jobs & one of the better ones is called Roadie. There aren't *a lot* of orders through them - especially this time of year. I'd recommend them in conjunction with other gig jobs - not by itself, but the jobs through them are usually very "quality" (In my opinion). You have a lot more control over which jobs you take with them. I made about $1,000 with them in 2021 with only one issue that was resolved pretty quickly. Most of their jobs are either: same day Best Buy deliveries, Tractor Supply Company deliveries, Walmart pickup deliveries (you don't have to shop - just pick up and deliver), or "delayed luggage" deliveries. They *usually* pay fairly decent, and you don't have to wait around for notification - you pick the jobs you're able and willing to do from what is currently available. (You don't want to wait too long, though - occasionally more than one driver hits the button & the customer can approve one over the other. That only happened a couple times to me though).
I currently do instacart, and these are all valid points. It took some getting used to, and some of the batches aren't worth it when the delivery is so far away. I try to remain in a close radius, so it's not so much driving. The app is super glitchy at times, and man, does it drain your phone. Standing on long lines while there's a time limit is also an issue because IC doesn't cater for that, so now you seem like you took too long doing the batch but the store is busy and the lines are super long. Also, on waiting for customers to get back to you, the same thing is true for the timer. They don't cater for that either. IC should do better with helping their shoppers be more efficient, but I suppose they leave that up to us to figure out the best stores, routes, etc, so we can schedule our own day. 🤷🏾♀️
time to check into using an instant pot & a few Stanley/Thermos food jars,(12+hours hot /24 cold rated) to save $ from drive-thru impulse buys, if this is the going rate for driver payoff.. maybe rack up some "learning to cook" videos; those were fun to watch & not too cringe-worthy for experienced home cooks to watch.. ;) new experiences, personal experience & reflections: --still interesting to watch/follow.. Thanks .
I was a picker or order filler at Walmart for almost 2 yrs, decision fatigue is something I never heard of, but omg..... Lol, it was the biggest thing that slowed me down. Even with the device telling you what you can replace the item with sometimes, half the time it didn't make sense, so I'd have to pick something for them if they wanted us to find a sub. It was the worst thing for me, lol! That... And the equipment never working. Very very frustrating. The thing I heard about Amazon is you can't pick WHERE you go. Like, you pick the order, pick up the item and they can send you to Boston, which is over an hour from me, I hate driving there and don't know the city at all, so it's not somewhere I'd willingly pick, but once you accept, you can't turn it down. That's why I haven't tried Amazon.
I used to do Uber full time. It's the same way with all the downtime and waiting around with no ride requests, unless you're working on a Friday night it's very hit or miss.
I subscribe to Instacart for grocery deliveries, thanks for showing the shopper's side of things! I wish everyone tipped well, especially for rainy days/holidays :(
I love these videos so much, because I've always been curious about the inner workings, pay amounts and general minutiae of some of the various delivery apps. It sounds like Instacart just isn't worth it in the end.
Las Vegas area ! Look at best shop times in app Only take amount of items you can do ! Know ur limit. When batch comes up see where is store and drop off location Don’t do any 7 dollar batch because insta cart will do an increase batch pay if no one is taking it. I started last year and it’s unlikely to get a tip if you offer replacements. What I do is if they don’t have it message customer and continue shopping while they respond. If they don’t respond, refund that item. If customer doesn’t request contact delivery, there’s a take a picture option! In my app there’s aisles to determine where the item is at To find an item look at BRAND, SIZE and details . My best experience is working 4 hours and making $120 . My biggest tip was $50
noted! So when they don't have an item, do you immediately suggest a replacement, or just let them know it's not there and leave it up to them to ask for a replacement first?
@@GoHerping f they don’t have the exact item and there’s no suggested items on app, I message the customer if they would like a replacement or refund . But at the same time I shop for other items and if the customer doesn’t respond I refund it. The only time I get a replacement (when customer doesn’t respond) is if the tip amount is a percentage. If a customer paid $100 for their order, and they tip $10 then they tipped 10%. So if you refund their items the tips may go down. You’ll get a feel for that and when you do you’ll know when to get a replacement so it doesn’t affect ur tip.
I feel your pain. lol. I manage to average, after gas (I don't think about vehicular wear and tear because denial is golden) about 11 - 12 dollars an hour. You learn to quickly see which store and the mileage before you accept and sometimes you get duped. It gets better. Oh, and different stores of the same chain put items in different places. I think that's a bit of consumer psychology to get people to wander about and make impulse purchases, but it just frustrates instacart shoppers because they aren't browsing.
I’m very ill and stuck at home. Instacart has saved my life! I do appreciate those shoppers. I tip them as much as I can but I’m not rich. They deserve a lot more.
I once saw an article on InstaCart explaining that the majority of their drivers are statistically single moms who deliver groceries while the kids are at daycare, with a sitter, etc. and they make such little money. If youve ever placed an InstaCart order you will see that the default tipp is usually 5%, and it has a note saying it isnt mandatory. Which i get, tips aren't mandatory, but as someone who works for tips, (bartender making $2.13 an hour) it just makes me sad to think that a bunch of single moms are probably doing this while ~majority~ making less than 10% an order. Great Video Alex, really liked it!
That seems about right, the majority of instacart shoppers who did my orders were like 25-40 something y/o women. Meanwhile, amazon delivery is just about everyone. Although there are a decent number of moms and a couple dads at the warehouses with their kids in the cars. I'd never want to have to manage a kid and 50 packages at the same time, but honestly it doesn't seem like the worst bonding time lol
I used to work within the personalized shopper department at a grocery store. We did not have to deliver but we did not have modern hardware at the time. Each substitute item needed to be manually called in from a fucking landline and customers would rarely answer their phones, meaning we had to leave voice mails. The problem was there was a set time limit to complete each order, and if the substitutes were never approved, you could not complete the order without deleting the missing items. Meaning angry customers, who would never check their email for the notification about missing items AND never respond to calls, would get to verbally abuse me in the parking lot as I loaded their groceries in the car. I could go on for hours. Worst job of my life.
As doing these gigs as my main job in a relatively big city, doordash as the main and only take REALLY good orders with a high tip on instacart and make sure it's not some horrible apartment if possible. You have a chance of getting super high pays on instacart but you're better off just waiting and cherry picking those and doing your main as another app or on downtime during the day. Sundays are always good too.
I hated working for instacart, did it for a whole year and went into Covid pandemic during the middle of my experience. I made money but it is a drag. Dealing with horrible customers. Unless they’re elderly or handicapped, the young adults never tipped and mansions NEVER tipped. Townhouses did mostly.
There are a lot of variables that come in to play while working for Instacart I've been doing it 3 years and still going strong. It depends on the zone you work in, the stores that are available to shop at, the income level of the customers who use the Instacart service ...
On the benefits tab you can find access to a variety of car maintenance services at discounted rate. You're 100% accurate about the guaranteed amount. Let's say you make 30 and the bonus says guaranteed 25, you wouldn't get anything.
I do Uber eats sometimes and what wins me over is the guaranteed minimum wage adjustment every 2 weeks off active time on the app. And if you find a good neighborhood to work in most people tip good for such short drives. That’s worth it to do as a side gig for me. The support is also top notch and the have levels in the app that give you benefits.
I used to do a shopping app for a certain supermarket. I’d say that’s better because with each order you have a better layout of the store (if you didn’t already). It was also a big chain so most orders were mostly in the near vicinity. Only problem I ever had was checking licenses (the app said you had to give it to a clearly sober person who was legal when people sent their kids to get stuff) and people giving me a bad review for unknown reasons (feedback was pretty vague as it’s like the Uber Eats app). I considered Instacart since I have moved to a new area, but now I know. 😅
What!? I work for Instacart in California, we don't have a map of grocery location! Some stores do have an aisle number though. I hope things get better for you!
I signed up to be an amazon flex driver after your other videos but my city area is too small and there are never any openings :/ the grocery things seems like such a pain compared. I have disabilities and consistent work is really hard for me to do, so these videos have given me some work ideas!
I just found your channel. I work instacart part time. Try find order either low miles. Before you accept order it show items and tips before accepting. When I shop if the item not a available in the store I send them a pic of items available. I also send suggestions while I'm shopping. If they don't respond and accept by the time I'm at checkout. I just refund the item. Good luck with instacart .
Maybe try Shipt. I know some ppl who do that and you just claim the orders they want to do then shop for it and drop it off or just pick up and deliver it no waiting for batches.
I love pet sitting with Rover. It's a lot of fun playing and hanging out with animal for money. You don't always make a ton of money if they don't tip but the work is easy and a lot more enjoyable than other hustles.
I did instacart a few years ago. Originally they would require the customer to tip and the options were 15%, 20% and 25%. Then they changed the options to 10%, 15% and 20%. Suddenly I would start getting a 25¢ tips on $200 orders that took 3 hours. It sucked.
@@haythe-u3m back then, they didn't tip until the order was delivered. You also used to get paid a percentage of the grocery bill in addition to the tip, so there was more incentive to take big orders
I order from Instacart often, but I don't think I'd want to do that job. Obviously, I hate shopping 😆I Door Dashed for a few weeks early in the pandemic and didn't like that either. All the yummy food smells in my car made me constantly hungry. I could do the Amazon gig you're doing, and maybe I will in the summer (I'm a school bus driver, so I'm plenty employed right now.)
yeah Insta cart is a pain I tried to use it once and I littlerly couldn't find the grocery store it was a block away past a hill and I couldn't figure out where it was and in that moment I realized I was not cut out for that job lol
I've done Instacart for about 5 years and have made over 4000 deliveries. It's gone extremely downhill every year more and more. You used to be able to make $40 a hour. You really need to know your market for when big tippers hit, batches are available and where to be. Before covid the best were office orders stocking their breakrooms usually from 8am to 11am on Mondays and Tuesdays. But you would need a cart because these would be thousand dollar orders that pack your car. I'm in Austin and that market hasn't really come back from Covid. So it's usually 30 item orders for houses in the morning and on weekends that pay about $20. I squeeze them in between doing Whole Food Flex deliveries when I'm not getting instant offers or doing blocks. Just before Costco opens there's usually a bunch of decent offers but in my area they get taken very quickly. So it's very much gambling and I only look if it happens to line up with doing Flex.
As a customer, paying $20 to $30 in fees and $20 to $30 in tips for an Instacart order, it's just not worth it. It's easier to carry heavy groceries on public transportation or pay to take an Uber home from the store. Some Instacart shoppers are amazing. But it's disappointing when items are removed from my order and there's no option to replace. I'll still use Instacart occasionally but it's just not worth it, especially as grocery costs are so high.
I use Instacart for Costco once a month or so, I always do scheduled deliveries so that way I have time to prepare. I will say I have faulted a few in not responding to my Instacart shopper on time, but I always give a good tip at the end and apologize in text lol. Please tip your drivers/shoppers they work extremely hard to get things to and from -- all I can say is if you can't tip then you should not be ordering through DoorDash/UberEATS/Instacart etc. As you an see each trip or shopping event does not pay much, but a tip goes 100% to them and it makes their trips worth while.
Hey Herb I actually do instacart alot in NH, are you close? A good tip I have is go to hannafords. At approximately the 41 minute mark (8:41-7:41pm), not all stores have the items labeled on Isles. Some that do include Hannafords, Stop and shop, Wegmans. Hope that helps! I'm a chef at my main job $24/h and do instacart on the side. Hourly I make 25-30 on average with instacart however it's not always guaranteed. I quit a previous job to do it and it paid well however isn't as consistent as needed. Especially with a potential recession causing people so spend less
I usually order about $250 at Publix through Instacart, but I never see a way to tip the shoppers. I'd throw in a $20 for them if I could. I don't know if its because I pickup at the store, or Publix policy, but I got so disappointed I couldn't tip I stopped using Instacart.
I assume instacart shoppers don't do the in store pickups, but I'm not entirely sure cause I didn't know they offered it. Maybe it's store employees prepping the order, similar to how doordash has a pickup option that doesn't involve a dasher at all?
I'm loving this series. You should try doordash for a month to compare with Amazon next. I do it and it would be interesting to see how they differ in your location
Instacart has been coming in handy especially with the rest of the gig apps are slow. I always try to find items myself vs asking employees which could be annoying for both. I also always make sure whatever is being asked is in good condition. If I wouldn’t eat it why would they? ❤
I can see this being lucrative for people in area's like where i live, the shops are pretty close, there's a lot of housing in the area, and each area is like its own city. The more suburban the area is, the likelihood that shops will be more than 15 minutes away go way up. Then again, I never see the value in using delivery because everything is so close. I normally just go for a walk with a wagon and do my shopping that way. I am the minority though. There's a constant stream of Doordashers, grubhub, Uber, etc. I mean, name it, and I see it deliveries in my complex.
Never take orders that that far unless you're getting like $80-$90 bucks and even that isn't that great for 35 minutes of driving, sometimes it's rewarding to wait a bit and be a lil patient without jumping on an order that you don't think will be worth it, it takes time and experience, but with the right techniques and confidence you should get it.
it all depend on your location TBH if you live in a place with not a alot of stores close together or close by to each othere your gonna have to drive further to get good batches I do insta cart full time for my income and i get batches that are 40$ for 20 items and like 2 mile drive to delivery also there are ways to acess more batches through the app it self your can take quick test and shit to be certifed to deliver alcohol and also perscription but i dont do that also it depnds on your ratin if your have under a 4.2 then your batches are gonna be really bad im at a 4.8 thats why batches are better for me also my area is full of grocerys store to make a lot with instacart you have to be willing to drive my area i can make up to 100 120 a day most days i make 60 80 and i work everyday also there are better times to shop wednesday is really slow begging of the week is good and weekends are good also there are peak times that will reward you will batch after batch after batch i really dont get a lot of down time in my area i do instacart it is very very location based
Sometimes I wonder about getting a job like this. I live by grocery store and I worked there for a couple months so I'd know where everything is. I definitely wouldn't want to travel half way across town tho for it
I used instacart a lot during the pandemic but they raised their prices a lot towards the end of the first year. Kind of disappointing to see how poorly the app works for the shoppers and how little they get paid after all that
I loved being an instacart shopper. Not great if someone is using it as a full time income source, but most days I was making $20/hr+ and slower days I’d just sit at home doing something else until a nice batch popped up. It definitely depends on your area.

I know your channel had a dip in views but these new style of videos are super great i’m glad you’re trying new things
Couldn't have happened to better person karma is a bitch
Yea I did doordash and it would always take me further and further from home to where I was driving an hour back home every time I did it.
You can wait for the timer to run out and it won't affect your acceptance rate! ✨ (Or at least it shouldn't)
4. Insinuating that doordash is gross bc your friend doesn’t know how to work the app was really funny lol
@@ZCaitlyn Doordash tells you exactly where the order is going so you still accepted it lol thats your fault
I am still trying to understand why I feel like I could watch you narrate your entire life and not get bored
I just recently
Moved to a new state, but before I did I was in the same house my whole life.
Thank you for the entertaining videos!
i'm on the spark waitlist! surely it can't be any worse than this...
@GoHerping from what I've seen, it isn't. Especially since you don't have to shop! And most of my deliveries were within a closer distance to the main store
@GoHerping My dad makes around $300 on Sundays for 12 hours of work, on spark. But apparently the app is super glitchy.
I bet you deliver to some interesting places with Walmart. Does it have tips? I would assume if you shop at Walmart, tips would be minimal.
I have been really enjoying these series and cannot wait to see more.
I’m really enjoying these videos. Super informative and has made me think a lot about side jobs to make money
this channel will never die only gets better.
I live in Australia and I’m sure we have similar. As you said “mums can zip through because we know where things are”
It’s true. I would love this job. I love grocery shopping.
Imma be honest those life vlogs are great and i watched every single one.
YOUR BACK!!!! Congrats on being able to reclaim your channel 🙃
AAAYYYYE YOURE BACK CONGRATS
I remember tagging along with my sister to do an insta cart order, I learned I'm not going even try insta cart. Too much work for little pay.
I’m taking a break because it’s mentally exhausting and time consuming
2. All my clothes are black and white. If I wear black shorts or sweats I wear a white top or sweatshirt. I also have two pairs of shoes. Yes, one black and one white. I have a white/light grey jacket and black jacket. Very little thought process 😂 anywho, keep up the good work
these vlogs have become my comfort youtube vidoes
I’m really enjoying this new style of video and looking forward to what else you bring this year
Couple tips. Don’t start shopping until you are in the store. Look at the list before starting to shop.
Timing is everything
Also if your going during the weekdays. You need to be at wegmans when they open or shortly after. Costco and Sam’s club at opening time is good during the week. Also. If you don’t like shopping to begin with, this job isn’t for you. I love shopping and know where everything in the stores are.
cool to se you channel back thanks for the videos because i just got a reptile
My first batch was at a staples as well lol but also had a bad time with instacart. The store map was only available in about half of the stores I shopped. Dope video bro thanks for sharing your experience!
Just discovered you and went back to binge the new content. I've subscribed and am here for your new content!
Watching this was like living through an awful day lol thank you for your sacrifice to entertain us. Love and appreciate you
time to check into using an instant pot & a few Stanley/Thermos food jars,(12+hours hot /24 cold rated) to save $ from drive-thru impulse buys, if this is the going rate for driver payoff..
maybe rack up some "learning to cook" videos; those were fun to watch & not too cringe-worthy for experienced home cooks to watch.. ;)
new experiences, personal experience & reflections: --still interesting to watch/follow..
Loved this 🤍 you're very insightful
I subscribe to Instacart for grocery deliveries, thanks for showing the shopper's side of things!
I wish everyone tipped well, especially for rainy days/holidays :(
i love the new content you always find a way to make a subject interesting keep it up man and enjoy yourself
thanks!
I love these videos so much, because I've always been curious about the inner workings, pay amounts and general minutiae of some of the various delivery apps.
It sounds like Instacart just isn't worth it in the end.
Las Vegas area !
Look at best shop times in app
Only take amount of items you can do ! Know ur limit.
When batch comes up see where is store and drop off location
Don’t do any 7 dollar batch because insta cart will do an increase batch pay if no one is taking it.
I started last year and it’s unlikely to get a tip if you offer replacements. What I do is if they don’t have it message customer and continue shopping while they respond. If they don’t respond, refund that item.
If customer doesn’t request contact delivery, there’s a take a picture option!
In my app there’s aisles to determine where the item is at
To find an item look at BRAND, SIZE and details .
Good to see you got your channel back :)
I hate shopping as well, I find the store so overwhelming. I don’t think I could ever shop for money.
you will have a hard life if you think groceries are overwhelming
@@mikec4308 guess I'm screwed
Yay! You got the channel back!
Glad to see you got the channel back!
thanks!
There are a lot of variables that come in to play while working for Instacart I've been doing it 3 years and still going strong. It depends on the zone you work in, the stores that are available to shop at, the income level of the customers who use the Instacart service ...
Honestly tempted to go on a road trip just to see if it's any better in other states
On the benefits tab you can find access to a variety of car maintenance services at discounted rate. You're 100% accurate about the guaranteed amount. Let's say you make 30 and the bonus says guaranteed 25, you wouldn't get anything.
I hate shopping so much that even shopping for protractors isn’t fun 😐
I have disabilities and consistent work is really hard for me to do, so these videos have given me some work ideas!
that sucks. i'm trying doordash next so we'll see, i wonder if your area has walmart spark? i'm waitlisted but I hear they pay better than flex
Channels back!
Good luck with instacart .
i really love these videos ur gonna become famous again with these videos i can feel it
I use instacart and ubereats a lot since I don't drive. Thank you for doing the job. I appreciate you guys and I always tip well.
Great job! You need to get to Gold Cart to start and with your awesome customer service it wont be hard!!
Maybe try Shipt. I know some ppl who do that and you just claim the orders they want to do then shop for it and drop it off or just pick up and deliver it no waiting for batches.
The service from the consumers side is splendid I’m sure. Comfortable in my house getting what I ordered while it’s raining outside.
It's alright, people would often mix up grocery bags and give me other people's orders
It sucked.
Why would you take orders with a 25 cent tip
@@haythe-u3m back then, they didn't tip until the order was delivered. You also used to get paid a percentage of the grocery bill in addition to the tip, so there was more incentive to take big orders
u got railed my dude...
U sure u can still walk after that one?
😆
I order from Instacart often, but I don't think I'd want to do that job. Obviously, I hate shopping 😆I Door Dashed for a few weeks early in the pandemic and didn't like that either. All the yummy food smells in my car made me constantly hungry. I could do the Amazon gig you're doing, and maybe I will in the summer (I'm a school bus driver, so I'm plenty employed right now.)
Ayyyyyyyy YOU WON!! Congratulations!!
Never travel without a batch for Instacart. I find it fun, but the pay kinda sucks vs Uber
yeah Insta cart is a pain I tried to use it once and I littlerly couldn't find the grocery store it was a block away past a hill and I couldn't figure out where it was and in that moment I realized I was not cut out for that job lol
I pick up grocery orders from Wal Mart at Curbside and just deliver them, minus the shopping. It’s fun. Called Spark, Delivery Drivers Inc.
Blowing Rock! Been there❤️🏔
My experience is, unless you live in a compacted and populated area, these services aren't worth it in the long run.
I'm loving this series. You should try doordash for a month to compare with Amazon next. I do it and it would be interesting to see how they differ in your location
I did Instacart when I lost my job in 2020. Not worth the payout at all and stopped doing it! You spend so long shopping/driving and make 10 bucks. 😒
There's surely gotta be some kind of strategy... no ideas yet though
Instacart has been coming in handy especially with the rest of the gig apps are slow. I always try to find items myself vs asking employees which could be annoying for both. I also always make sure whatever is being asked is in good condition. If I wouldn’t eat it why would they? ❤
I can't imagine the map ever working since they always rearrange them to raise interest in other items
Never take orders that that far unless you're getting like $80-$90 bucks and even that isn't that great for 35 minutes of driving, sometimes it's rewarding to wait a bit and be a lil patient without jumping on an order that you don't think will be worth it, it takes time and experience, but with the right techniques and confidence you should get it.
you’re playlist sound fire 👀
Finally, the boi is back.
Imagine watching this and halfway through an order you realize it was your order lmao
one of the channel members actually recognized and knows the second person that ordered!
it all depend on your location TBH if you live in a place with not a alot of stores close together or close by to each othere your gonna have to drive further to get good batches I do insta cart full time for my income and i get batches that are 40$ for 20 items and like 2 mile drive to delivery also there are ways to acess more batches through the app it self your can take quick test and shit to be certifed to deliver alcohol and also perscription but i dont do that also it depnds on your ratin if your have under a 4.2 then your batches are gonna be really bad im at a 4.8 thats why batches are better for me also my area is full of grocerys store to make a lot with instacart you have to be willing to drive my area i can make up to 100 120 a day most days i make 60 80 and i work everyday also there are better times to shop wednesday is really slow begging of the week is good and weekends are good also there are peak times that will reward you will batch after batch after batch i really dont get a lot of down time in my area i do instacart it is very very location based
Sometimes I wonder about getting a job like this. I live by grocery store and I worked there for a couple months so I'd know where everything is. I definitely wouldn't want to travel half way across town tho for it
no bc i love this style of vids- the odd jobs. could make for a really great series hahah
Your reliance on technology is outlandish.
