- From the documentary "Live Forever" Noel Gallagher 4 ever, man.
"I thought they were just some kids from a special needs school hanging out at the studio because there was free food or something."
"Good little kids man" has got to be one of my favorite Liam-lines ever.
Liam makes me smile when he's like, "They're good little kids, man."
Noel - "What does this mean?"
Those guys are legends ! Damon Albarn is a musical genius.
We need them more than ever in the music industry.
Liam just cracks me up
"Better than them fuckin' other ones..."
He's a legend.
Noel killed me LMFAO!!!!!!!!
Hahaha I love it when Noel does mimes the choreography. Hahaha.
The real truth is they're all sooo hooot! Every single one. Love them
Noel's dance of grabbing the air above and in front... classic Noel, yeah
I'm with you on this mate. I do like Oasis but they could have done so much more over the years, they haven't grown as a aband at all, it's still pubrock. Don't get me wrong, I love a good bit of pub rock, and Oasis do it very well, but in terms of musicianship there is NO comparison between any member of oasis and Damon ALbarn. Whether you like the bugger or not, he is incredibly talented.
Blur and Oasis are my tow favorite bands. To me they are equal.
it's sad to think it's american bands like the strokes and interpol which revived the indie scene in briitan
but Damon has his own style to give his opinion 'bout whatever. doesnt care if you dont like that opinion, it's just that, as the same as me. what we have to do, and I mean, everybody, is trying to support these bands although it sounds like a dream , but if we make an effort whatever they say, we can make they come back. yeah! long live Blur!
My favorite part of live forever!!!! I love how Noel "dances" XD
and Damon: (...)" Great, that's very good news..."
Noel's a rocker, who has occasionally branched out into dance music (eg Setting Sun). Nowt wrong with that; he's damn good at it and I like it. However, Damon has done all sorts of bizarre things as well as Blur - electronica, a world music album, etc - his musical taste is far broader and he's been involved in a variety of genres. He is a more proficient musician.
hilarious!!!! Noel: "What does THIS means???"
everytime I watch this I almost pee my pants!!
@IamLav that song is about the sex culture in greece, basically it's saying that sex should "always be with someone you really love", so it does actually have meaning in the context of the song. i like blur, but i'm not at all a fan of oasis really.
@TheMrbollox
Well Oasis don't move me like Blur or Gorillaz. Damon doesn't follow trends, he sets them.
great film...noels makes soem of the greatest calls i've ever heard
i agree w that, stone roses basically opened the door oasis came thru, SR deserve alot more credit
but oasis is a fav of my
Blur make much more psychedelic pop-rockmusic .. Oasis is more rock 'n roll.. I wouldn't bother comparing them.. I love both of them
Damon has always kicked the shit out of the Gallaghers artistically.... They made the big-headed error of assuming they were the best because they were the biggest. Blur's reputation took a bit of a beating just after The Great Escape but nothing compared to the colossal critical bellyflop that was Be Here Now. Blur are easily better regarded these days - and will be forevermore - than Oasis. And this is coming from an Oasis fan.... who just happens to think Blur are far far superior.
Ya Be Here Now is one of the best fuckin albums ever. But nice try.
Blur is regarded as shitty opportunists and scenesters. At first, they've tried the baggy/madchester thing when it was relevant, then switched to britpop when Suede and The Auteurs opened the floodgates, then went all Pavement/Pixies/american.
Liam: "I don't mind s club juniors, they're all right"
One of my favourite Gorillaz fun facts is that Rachel Stevens from S Club 7 is canon in the Gorillaz lore as one of 2-D's exes. It makes total sense when you remember the entire Gorillaz project at that time was all about taking the piss out of the British pop scene. She makes an appearance in the Gorillaz mockumentary "Charts of Darkness".
The Gallagher brothers may be top-tier arseholes but god damn they will never not be hilarious. Noel rambling on with full "old man yells at cloud" energy about the kid's dance moves, then cut to Liam being all like **takes drag of cigarette** "I didn't mind S Club Juniors, they were better than the fuckin other ones" had me on the floor. Wasn't Liam married to one of the girls from All Saints at one point too? Top tier stuff.
He hated the whole Idea of Pop Idol. He was sarcastic about the good news thing.
i thought they were just some kids from the special needs school
the overweightress hanging around for frr food....
This video is from Live forever: rise and fall of britpop, i found it in emule
Oasis made catchier songs, but Blur did more to expand themselves. Both bands are good but Blur have consistently remained good whereas Oasis have been hit and miss.
I like Noel because he's honest. And I like Damon because he dabbles with a lot of genres.
@BlueJelly23 that's probably just 'cause of how or where you grew up. i only heard of blur when i heard oasis. never heard a single blur song before hearing quite a few oasis ones. and most of my friends have heard oasis but not blur at all. cd shops where i live dont even have blur albums, while they do have oasis. :)
LOL!! Great comments all around. Especially Damon's at the end. Says it all :)
LOL...I love my boys! They are so opinionated and do not give a crap what anyone says!
OASIS IS GREAT.
BLUR IS GREAT.
they make completely different music! it's pointless comparing them! stop being rude to people with a different opinion than you!
(i personally think noel is the coolest human on the planet, but damon is awesome as well)
@BlueJelly23 I like blur better, but oasis are definitely more popular.
He's been quiet since leaving Oasis, but British music NEEDS Noel Gallagher, if only for the entertaining interviews.
Actually, I am BRITISH and carry a British Passport and left a year ago but I guess that's not in my profile. So bollocks!
If Gorillaz is a novelty act then Oasis is a parody of themselves. But if people are constantly getting into pissing matches on the net over this I guess that's just a testament to the quality of each band and how Britain consistantly produces some of the best music in the world
@TheMrbollox Mmm fair point fair point.
But Blur's legacy, The Gorillaz are currently doing incredibly well for themselves, proving the tried and tested formula of lovely catchy lyrics and a warm feeling is a more sustainable musical persona and impossible to dismiss as a 'passing fad'.
Oasis clearly are more popular than blur, and will remain so, but their musical style is not more popular.
@Taporeee Just imagine if S Club Juniors were still around, Liam could have wrote a song for them
I agree with you in the second paragraph , I think he should have said more words, but he didn't. BUT! obviously he said an opinion ....it doesn't care if he was sarcastic, see yah!
liam is sooo fucking calm.
best band on the fucking planet mate. Give me somebody better please
@Taporeee Yeah, I honestly wouldthought of never thinking Liam would be a fan S Club Jr's
I got this out from Blockbuster and then burnt it. Try the video store.
@BGC75 They didn't experience a backlash...because they were never that big.
I daresay that Oasis will make it into more "The Best" "The Biggest" than Blur around the world. And if they are both on it...Oasis are listed higher. So I think your opinion may be incorrect.
We'll have to wait until Oasis have attained the level of nostagia that Blur have.
noel was leader of the biggest band on the planet at one point, i doubt he has much to be bitter about... but to be fair blur are a great band
DAMON !!!!
fuck, I delete all my words by mistake, but let me tell you: Damn! man, you are right. you were so polite to answer and can tell me your opinion. LOL. each one tries to defend our own band. sorry for the time you toke to write me. THANKS. LONG LIVE BLUR. and less OASIS.
I love damon!! and noel is so funny! haha
lol 4 some reason damons voice at the end of the video reminds me of gandalf or something like that!
I hear you man!
what does this mean **mimic with hand**
oasis sully the names of the beatles every time they compare themselves to them.Blur promoted british music while oasis played american radio blandness on definitely maybe..and then did it again with the following 7 albums. the fact that it sold more records is the same reason take that sold records; its sold to drunk masses and 13yr olds that controlled the charts back then. plus blur probably drunk an ocean more of beer than both the gallaghers put together in thier lifetimes.
8 #1 singles, 50 million albums sold and the imagination of 2 generations. you know anyone else with all that stuff?
Still it can't match "Advertisements are here for rapid persuasion, If you stare too long you lose your appetite"
Honest or not, you can't argue that most of Oasis' recent albums have been criticised by fans and critics alike. How can you defend the likes of Little James or Force Of Nature? They're rubbish. Since 1994 both bands have consistently made #1 in the album chart.
And Love Like A Bomb is weak when you've got The Importance Of Being Idle!
tbh I agree with Damons attitude, who actually wants pop to spread anywhere? Its a pile of crap. The music oasis and blur made was incredible.
noel is such a fuckin legend hilarious shit
I totally agree with Damon
I don't really like Damon, but the way he says conspirators is awesome.
But hey, at least they did it. Besides, Paul was born in Britain, so. y'know, fuck it.
NOEL!!!!
@TheMrbollox do u realize i never said i like blur better
It's funny how Oasis fan's can only cling to a decade old victory that was a farce to begin with. Fact is; Damon Albarn is still making brilliant music. Noel Gallagher is hanging on to his own coat tails.
They makes fuckin dancing things!!!!!XD
Omfg WTF is with all the comparing? They're both great bands who've both done amazing things, musically. And this was a hilarious interview. The end. Fuck, some of you just love to pick out every little flaw and talk about it. Seriously? Get over it.
noel is so funny omg
noel is so funny hhhahah
@ThingsWeSaidToday oh don't be like that, it's not their fault. they still have a 1995 calender, bless them.
liamuir, I don't think someone who can't spell genius has the credentials to judge who falls into that category. I also suggest to starshaped68, that providing you are as vehement on the topic of oasis as your message would suggest, don't watch any more clips with 'Noel & Liam Gallagher' in the title. Live Forever.
1 10 "what does this mean" to be exact
I'd like to make a comment on this whole blur vs Oasis bullshit argument that has been going around since the mid 90's. BOTH bands are fuckin great, both made a fantastic impact on english music, both bands created an excitement around the music scene in the mid 90's. This whole pointless argument is just useless, it's like "my dad's bigger than yours", and it just goes round and round in circles. They are both talented, everyone has different tastes in music, just accept this ffs.
But what is your point in calling Noel Gallagher a mediocre musician? He has said himself that he said those things in the 90's to promote the band, and that if he said it enough times, people would start believing it. It makes no difference now many "crap" albums he has brought out, I happen to think he is a very good songwriter, and has wrote some great songs, and you know, if a lot of people get into playing an instrument by learning Wonderwall, then that is great! is that a bad thing? NO.
haha, 1:15 what does this mean?
"what the fuck does this mean?" lol
holy crapp... i just thought of something... noel gallagher is extremely awesome and i love him but his type of wit about things kinda reminds me of stewie from family guy LMFAOOO... that came to me when he was talking about the dance moves lmaoooo... A grown up, non evil version of stewie - with a little bit more of an accent.
blur are alright, some class tunes. Oasis are gods though, on a completly different level
ALL U OASIS FANS DONT GET OFFENDED , but blur are more popular coz i grew up in belarus and i heard a few blur songs when i was little and i never heard a single oasis song !
LOLL noel is funny! and im not an oasis fan at all, but this made laugh out laud XD
Jeez weez Noel LMFAO That is hilarious
lol! albarn is pop idol
good on ya lad
0.29-0.33. HAHA. Noel you nailed it.
well if you don't like them why d'you keep on comment this? Go see some Rory Gallagher's video and write something there, leave Noel, Damon and us alone.
With all due respect, it's not a "fact" at all, it's an opinion.
I think Little By Little was a great song and I do like Oasis, Noel has talent. I stick by my view though that in terms of musical proficiency Noel can't touch Damon. The point being that, musically, Damon is quirky and has come up with some far more original stuff.
NO COMPARISON? Noel is one of the greatest 90's songwriter anf that's a fact, Damon is great but he'll never write anthems like DLBIA wonderwall morning glory live forever stand by me etc. even now Noel writes great songs like the importance of being idle, part of the queue, little by little or gas panic. And thanks god Noel will never do stuff like Gorillaz, with those rap-parts in it
This is for the Blur fans. Why Oasis was and is much more succesfull than Blur?
D'you call one of the best R'N'R bands ever JUNGLE BUNNIES??!
Oh my, sometimes I read some very funny stuff on youtube
hahaha. noel "dancing" is hilarious.
oh my god noel is too funny jfc
wow noel has quite a mouth on him ha ha I dont think he said even 1 sentence without saying the word "Fuck".
HAHAHAHAH best comment ever. I love the Gallaghers more than anything in this awful world. Well, with a few exceptions. Thank you, princess.
Damon rulez
oasis fans were putting you down, so I brought you up a notch :P
Damon
man noel was hilarious!
@ThingsWeSaidToday
Love them both but Damon is a better lyricist and producer. Gorillaz production value is way higher than anything oasis ever did.
thanks.
yeah, they don't like me. I don't know why, either. lmao!
1.28 Noel hits the nail on the head. It's fucking rubbish!
then hit me with your thesis
hahah fockin great
Oh Damon you tortured soul. Maybe you should move to a deserted island with Billy Corgan.
OMFG BEST VIDEO EVER hahahahahahahhaha Noel :'D
