As a retired nurse of 37 years, ( with a RN surgical-cardiac & Chiropractic background ), & having worked through AIDS & CoVid, YOU are absolutely COMMENDABLE!!!! Everything that you say & demonstrate is exactly the way that I was instructed! I really appreciate your positive feedback and support! You just made my day and motivated me to hurry up & get better so I can get back to what I love to do best! I appreciate you and thank you for all you that you have done as a nurse yourself 🙏❤️🤗
I am so happy to read that it will be beneficial to your clients. For several years I shied away from massaging the knee until I learned more techniques. Our teacher used to emphasize to be careful with the knee & all the injuries that happened that I became afraid to treat knees lol. I wish I had a video or RUclips when I first started massage. Create a great day!

Patella is the most complex joint with the largest sesamoid bone imbedded in tendons. Anatomy of patella-- 1) Muscles involved: quadriceps, IT band, gastrocnemius, soleus, peroneus, tibialis, Gracilis, Sartorius and Semitendinosus etc. 2) Ligaments: ACL, PCL, LCL, MCL 3) Tendons: quadriceps tendon, patella tendon, pes anserine tendon 4) Bones involved: femur (thighbone), Tibia (shinbone), fibula 5)Others: tibial plateau, medial/lateral meniscus, femur condyle, articular cartilage, Baker’s Cyst To understand above, knee treatment is a lot easier. Piggyback is the new trick learnt today. Thanks for your tutorial Maria. Sorry for Dimple’s Day47 check-in late.

@@MassageTherapeutics915 blessings of love and freedom from Germany, yeah bamboo, wow I can feel the power of strength and flexibility in my bones with that energy... Exiting.
Doesn’t it make you feel good when you know you’re on the right track! Your clients are lucky to have you as their therapist! Soooooo many knee injuries and most of the time it’s just the muscles. I forgot to mention the Pes Anserinus! Hope you worked that out too. Congrats on a good job 🤗
You mentioned that you noticed some crepitus. Would this be joint crepitus? Also if a client has a history of bursa in the knee would these techniques relieve some of the bursa? I am still in school so please excuse any stupid questions. Thank you for your time in advance!
There are no stupid questions & I’ll be glad to answer. You are correct that Crepitus is the sound the joint makes when it releases nitrogen bubbles. There’s bone Crepitus and joint Crepitus. The bone rubs against the cartilage or the bursa has synovial fluid & releases the nitrogen. The easiest to crack are the Hallux (big toe) Pollex (thumb) and knuckles! Hope this helped! Congrats on being a great student and doing your own research & questioning! I love students like yourself that are engaging! Best of luck & create a great day
Correct on not using deep pressure on the popliteal area. You can work the attachments of the gastrocnemius. Always just be careful when you feel a pulse & are in vascular areas that are not protected by bone. Hope this answers your question. Wasn’t sure if I understood it correctly
@@MassageTherapeutics915 yes you did answer. I understood that we have to be careful to do deep pressure on the popliteal area. I like to do gently compress or pumping softly to clean the joint, more when have done lymphatic drainage on legs!! I love your videos!!!
