Great project! Thanks for sharing! BTW, your work bench is as bad as 2 of the ones I have! We REALLY need to get some OSB or plywood on them to flatten them out so things don't tilt!
Best of luck to you! Keep up the good videos, I'm learning a lot and I'm 67 and thought I already knew a lot! LOL!!
Indeed, unique, unprecedented, unparalleled, unmatched, masterpiece. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!

Handy mini woodworking lathe! Very well used discarded washing machine motor.
In the Fire Dept...we use these old motors to make fans. Just hook a belt up to the pulley...build a wooden box to cover the motor and blades...and voila...you have a nice, hard working fan. Two thumbs up on the video. 👍☀️👍 (And a video on how to wire the motors would also be a good idea).
This project has given the word 'sad' a whole new dimension! :-))
Well, that was totally straight forward. Required nearly no prep or tools at all!
You have a great thing going. I enjoy watching the girls pull in
those big catfish.
Good luck and good fishing.

You're a natural inventor. You have n an amazing way of thinking out of the box. 🤔💡
Now we know what Gerard Butler does on his days off.....great vid 😎✌️
and that's how you make a file handle! first you need an old washing machine motor...very cool...
First i thought the wood handle will be for some knives but it was for ..... looks good after all this work. Great job.
This Is Extremely Impressive...I could see this for every middle-class Jr high school in the country!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice lawn ornament. But I don't think the neighbors will understand.
Putting the washing machine motor to a good use is a wise idea.
I have an old clothes dryer. And I am going to strip it for the motor and make myself one of these. Brilliant idea. Thanks mate.
Excellent idea! Don't listen to the gripers. Some people have to be negative and find fault with anything to make themselves feel superior. Keep up the good vids
From now on I will go straight to the end of these type of videos first, before watching the whole thing.
Necessity is the mother of invention.
I wish I was your neighbour...I love this

This type of technology must be taught in the I T I Education u bhaskararao
Looks really safe, (especially the wiring!) I'd be happy letting me kids use it
I know you posted this 3 years ago, but i have to have said this:
Pls lookup the following title: Worker killed by forklift.
You have to press Agree several times before you can watch it on youtube these days.
I am talking about the video showing a guy standing next to his truck waiting for the forklift to load his truck.
That man is wearing a safetyjacket.
Lots of light. Reasonably safe location.
And yet the man ends up underneath the pallet because he made a choice.
His safetyjacket, high vis material, did not help.
His safetyshoes did not help.
His training did not help.
The forklift driver's training did not help.
The lights on the forklift did not help.
So my question is: what do you mean?
Kids should not play with equipment in the first place, should they?
Not even if it is labeled safe.
And adults should take care of their own safety, right?
Because all of the before mentioned safety gear and regulations have not saved that man.
And i can show you plenty of other stuff that happens around equipment that was built by professionals, and yet somehow it causes the death of a person.
SO i do not understand what you mean when you say: Looks really safe.
Equipment like this is never safe. Not even if it is build by professionals with all kinds of safety knobs and stuff onboard.
People will still find ways to die using what some call safe equipment.
I've done the "grind a bit of metal and pick it up" thing too ! 🤣
My dad did similar with junkyard parts and yard sale lathe parts. We made countless yo-yo's , pens, lamps with it. Fun stuff!
Nice work done by you intelligently superb video Thanks sir
Nice one. I like doing small projects and anything I can with my welding machine and handy tools when I was younger and living in a rural area. Now older and with kids, just working for a boss full time.
Hey, at least you have a job!
Lppppppppppooo is it I I 9 I pop
Looks easy when you have all the correct tools....
What!!! He had none of the correct tools.
Re-use old washing machine motor..Great Idea! Let's see..OK for my project parts list I'll need a nut, bolt and a washer. A washer? Oh no I'm back to square one! 😆
Yeah just shut up
Great ideas pall, keep up the good work and the videos coming 😁👍
You can use the metal sides to weld together things too for instance a wheel barrow bucket. Or the blades to a wind or water wheel.
Good job with simple tools you are perfect
nice and simple, well done. those motors usually come with 2 speeds 350 and 2800 rpm, probably you worked with the higher speed. it will be a bit problematic with larger wood and probably will need pulley system to get better control.still I am amazed they are rated only for 125\175 whats or so..they look stronger than that!
It is good
Awesome way to lose and eye or a hand...Danger Danger Will Robinson ...
Good job reallly work good
After spending the valuable 23 odd minutes, I saw myself as a druged orangutan...
Brilliant my friend..,
After so many hurdals, arranging several tools and with a perfect alignment of ✋ body and soul... At last we create a handle of an unusual tool for a household
Thanks a lot in advance bro.... for...
.
If I need this in my entire life....
Great idea, but those washing machine motor bearings won't turn a completely round item after they get some wear on them. Eventually they will turn some oddball elipsoid instead of round. It takes special bearings to make a genuine lathe, but for a DIY project this may be good enough.

Its very nice work sir
Good job sir DY ur work amazing
Precios soy el papa de Martin pero esta muy Bonito to do me enchanta
Muito amigo obg esse modelo eu vou fazer valeu
Save the wash tube they make great fire pits
Ang galing naman
Best video of 2019. You deserve ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Measured that chisel cutting angle well lol.
You can also use an old freezer door as a sleigh.
Recycling pretty cool I'm impressed
tool table for cutting needs to be below center of the lath, the cutting tool is at center line for best performance, great idea.
Excellent video, great work.
Eres muy torpe para usar las herramientas, usalas con más precausión, por lo demas muy bueno y para adelante amigo.
Good idea nice piece of work
❤❤❤ from India
Nu
great video, pitty the 50 adds interfered.
I like it.
It saddens me to see so many young "men" who can't drive a stick-shift, or change a flat tire - much less build a lathe out of a washing-machine motor. If you have boys, raise them to be men.
You have to disable the reverse or separate the back and forth rotation by prividing another switch
Very cool, nice way to reuse stuff around the house/city 👍🏻
Could have been cut down to 10 minutes and with no music though. Cool video
I like it. careful not to start a piece that's too out of balance that things got some rpm. I think you might lower that tool rest just a bit.
Great video but as others said before me, show us how you did the wiring, I also have a motor I would like to make it work and it looks exactly the same with the one you are using.
There are already some videos on RUclips on how to wire it.
Hi Jo ki LLP LP
Type in search bar on youtube home page : How to wire up a washing machine motor, look for the one by Hawktail Knives, he talks you through it and shows you as well.
That chop saw set-up is cool👍🏽
Don’t try it,that’s the most dangerous thing to made at home.
Nice idea but...
High speed rotating parts and gloves - ay caramba ;o)
I agree. I know a guy that got hurt using gloves and a high speed grinder.
janko muzykant 👍
my thoughts exactly
Timber is not super expensive, and I get it that it's sometimes great to re-purpose an old piece, but with this project, I'd purchase new timber for a better overall effect to a job well done...........He has the right idea for a cheap and effective lathe, but near enough is not really good enough in this instance, because being a functional workshop tool, the time and effort put into it, would justify it's completion with all parts painted to whatever colour one chooses . Also, the piece of wood off cut was way too small for the pointed screws on the pulley to fully facilitate it, with one actually shown as to come off the side at 15:44 . Another point worth mentioning, would have been to use the proper rubber bushes when mounting it to the angle iron. Slowing down the action to 0.25 speed there appeared to be a rubber washer inside of the steel washer which would do nothing much in dampening any vibration. Presumably, it would have had it's correct bushes when mounted in the washing machine. Still, perhaps he'll upgrade it later. I may be nit picking, but wouldn't pan head screws or 1/4" bolts be preferable. Countersunk screws are fine if you countersink the plates. The idea has merit, so one cannot fault him for that, but purleeeeese, one needs to take some pride in the finished job, whatever it might be...
ผมสนใจมากครับ
I dont have a leg to stand on!!Lottsa fun to watch!!Thnks.
Yeah, sure lier!
It would be great if you ever built a metal lathe. One that can be used to turn external threads and shape bolts.
Just wondering, do you suppose you might be able to make a small cement mixer with a washing machine motor?
is there a way you can adjust the length of the turn? or is it fixed for that size?
I have the same motor, i need to do something like this.
Stop hating y'all!! Awesome video dude...
Lathe? What do I win for guessing correctly just after you threw the washing machine motor on the blocks after cross cutting them free hand on your 'table' saw
Love these videos ,👍🇮🇪
Very dangerous table saw setup! Good way to lose some fingers or worse.
Very good!!! how to connect the electrical part of the motor without the control unit? Thanks
I would like to use a washing motore to brush aluminum
You wire the run coil across the AC mains and the start coil across the capacitor which you also have to dig out of the washing machine. This makes the motor a constant speed motor and removes the hassle of a speed controller.
Great job man ... Bravo ... do not listen haters, you're amazing !!!
Thanks bro
Who doesn't love this music?!
👇🏼
Let me purchase a washing machine to take the motor for this purpose...hahha
Well done mr dk amazing job good luck
Wow that's awesome. The only thing I would've done differently, put glue on the handle before attaching the two pieces together but that's it! Great job! Thanks a bunch for sharing!
After reading the comments I'm a little disappointed in how ppl expect something to be recycled to perfection. If that's the expectation of the viewer they shouldn't watch any how to or DIY videos. Should go to ...How It's Made vids. Just my opinion.
That was really cool thanks
That table saw is terrifying
Nice and talented person.

TV(4) LEGO
Good vid and as long as one can sort if weld then not too difficult a project.
Shame you didn't show how to site up the motor as that is to me more difficult a task.
Maybe a separate vid!

I like this and your other videos but you use heavy duty welding which is not possible for most of us at home.
Because nothing says smack me it the face with a chunk of 2x2 than a make shift wood lathe. Nice file handle though.
Valeu amigo 👍
can we use thise technic for heavier wood like turning wood tree and epoxy vas please answer
You are great 👌👍
That's pretty cool.
👍👍👏
nice video..!! can you please explain me how is the wiring, because i have the same motor and i don't know whats cable is what... thank you!
How much minimum W should be the power of the motor so that the number of revolutions would be like on a centrifuge without wanting to have a worse resistance on the motor.
Thanks in advance for the reply.
you would need to make a cover for that motor and electrics quite dangerouse
Excelent job merci
That's Right That Music Stinks. & You Can't Talk.😧😧!!
Might be helpful and useful if you showed how to wire it up.
How did you gain control of the rpm speed in that motor ? Washing machines run at crazy rpm, and the drive shaft you are spinning from is usually connected by belt to a way larger wheel on the back of the drum, the motor itself could be spinning at 12000 rpm or more. Could be overkill for wood turning.
Getting straight hated on by the music. Ppl need to get a life or their own channel. Nice work man!
Any other ideas of reusing old washing machine motors?

Thanks FOR sharing...

Fabuloso
What size capacitor did you use and how do you wire it up. Is it a start only or continuous capacitor ?
Extraordinário, excelente ideia, valeu mesmo.
Wow Nice hack !!

Peace 🐍
Very good
Great to watch set up and manufacture, connection sequence would be good, got to say, a bit on the dangerous side, running bar should be fixed.
Maybe so, but did you see what he was using for a table saw? Clearly not overly safety conscious...
