- In today's episode we're in Easley, SC at a place called Skin's Hot Dogs, where if you can beat their house record for most chilli dogs eaten, you get the dogs free, a t-shirt and a coveted champion's photo on their wall...
I ordered all my hot dogs up front, but diners can order five at a time to spare their wallet. Each hot dog costs $2.60 and you must finish either MORE hot dogs than the previous champion did in their time (when I arrived the current champion had eaten 16 hot dogs in 1 hour 18 minutes) or the same number of hot dogs as the current champion in a FASTER time.

It's not just the fact the man has amazing skill... it's the humility. He's so kind and respectful of everyone. He's not cocky. Beard walks in, destroys the record, and has an "aw shucks" demeanor about him. FANTASTIC! 😀👍
That’s one of the many reasons why he is the only “Food-Tuber” on YT that i can actually bear to watch! It’s not overproduced or gimmicky, he’s not trying to sell me a product after each video, he’s just a genuine guy with a passion for food challenges which i love. 🤘

Also, having worked in hospitality for a couple years now, I can say from experience that the staff definitely appreciated the recognition. He's just a really nice man.

It's a chain where I live actually. The family has around 10 of them in the area. It is a very popular restaurant. They have good hotdogs.

One of my fondest memories from driving across America is how nice the staff are in diners.
They get what it's all about.

As a Canadian, the fondest memories I have of traveling in the States are of the genuine hospitality we experienced in small southern towns. The smile I had on my face as a kid when the waitress said, “Sure thing, sugar”.

An honest man and honest people, just a stranger who rides up , ok cruises up, out of the rain and stops by to take on the challenge, and great fun and banter had by all.
Don’t know if anyone has shared this yet, but per Google: The original recipe for pound cake was essentially a cake that was made from a pound of flour, a pound of sugar, a pound of butter, and a pound of eggs. This is actually where the pound cake received it's name. Each ingredient added to the cake weighed one pound.
I loved Beard's reaction when the guy told another customer, "I figured you where going to order 21 just to beat him." That was great! GG Beard, love the content!

this is literally the best hot dog place in the world. Every since I ate there with my grandpa as a child I wanted them to franchise them and be everywhere. Skin Thrasher however wanted them to never be owned by someone outside the family so I guess they will stay in the south forever. I will always love that place.

I’m a kiwi who has lived in the US for the past 30 years. During that time I have lived in California but travel a lot for work. One of my frequent trips is to SC specifically Greenville. I have driven past the Skins on Pelham Rd more times I can remember but never stopped to try their dogs. Never again. Thanks for the motivation Mate. Looking forward to tasting their chili dogs and of course the southern hospitality. Cheers.
I work nearby and eat at the Pelham Rd location from time to time that's crazy seeing a local restaurant on here. Two is my limit though. I'd need an ambulance on standby if I ate twenty for sure!

I used to live just a few minutes away from that skins, and ate there a bunch as a kid. Hands down the best hotdog I have ever (and will ever) have. Gotta visit some family and stop by there again some day!

I was a dental nurse for 30 years and I'm pretty sure this man has all 32 teeth (wisdom teeth included) and he has a jaw opening of around 52 centimetres. This gives him an advantage that most people dont have. Its amazing to watch.

Been in SC many times, that particular area, several. SC people are the real deal, very cordial, friendly to all 99% of the time. Now the cities, not as bad as most, but ya know nit-wits are everywhere. Georgia….same.

I sincerely hope that your video promotes their business, I have always wondered if people or perhaps locals "Follow you around" maybe to beat your success or just out of curiosity. This place definitely deserves to be visited, they are so responsible in the sense "don't order too many at a time"
You have done a small local business a great service by visiting them and I think you should be very proud of the way you conduct yourself, that in turn creates a great short term relationship with the owners of the places you visit, the staff and the customers there at the time. It all make for great viewing.

I'm not even INTO food eating stuff. Well, wasn't. It's not even remotely my thing, but this guy draws you in. Every now and again you come across an individual that has a "thing" about them. He does. You just want to sit, have a beer, and just have a good conversation about life. He's interesting and polite and definitely has a story.

Thanks for showing off a portion of a nearby small town. The area is very great and the people here rock. Skins is a hot spot for the older community too. My great grandfather used to live there for meals. This is also one of the few places in the area if you order a "Chili Dog" they give you a hotdog bun of just chili lol

@beardmeatsfood welcome to our humble community. skins has always been my favorite place for hotdogs. There are multiple locations throughout the upstate but i believe the one in Easley was the first. As you stated the moistness of the hotdogs is different than most making them imo better. Anyone from Easley knows that when you want hotdogs skins is the place to go. We also have several other restaurants throughout the upstate SC that has their own competitions as well with different menu items. Can always provide a recommendation. But i hope you got to enjoy a little bit of the community while you were here. Not much in Easley itself although a great Community to live but we usually host the Big league world series each year featuring teams from all over the world. We have Clemson University home of yhe Clemson tigers just a short 15 min drive away and then also Greenville Pickens speedway one of the very first tracks raced by NASCAR and a favorite local track for the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. I have not actually been by the track in quite some time now but the teack has long been operational as a stock car track. Featuring many local racers. Either way we hope you come back
