  • Fitting a WIDE TIRE with a WIDER Fender on Our Budget EG Civic
    By Brian Gillespie and Aaron Gaghagen
    Our K23 turbo head on our K20A bottom end is going to make power (hopefully!) and a bunch more torque. So Budget EG is going to need a good amount of tire to translate that power to the ground. What is the point of making more power if it doesn't make you faster? Exactly, we're drivers and that is what moves us. Originally we tried to space out the stock fenders, but it didn't look great. In fact, viewers told us that they HATED them. So, we sourced some wider fenders from Touge Factory. Fiberglass parts typically need massaging to fit right and Brian shows how much ours will need.

    Coming from a Evo/DSM background… I’ve never liked Hondas…. Never lol
    But having owned a 2010 Honda Accord LX…. This baby has 191000 miles on the clock and she keeps on going! Did the engine timing chain/ oil pump/ chain etc and these things are so easy to work on ❤❤❤❤
    Anyway… I always find myself watching and enjoying all your videos. Keep up the awesome work!

    They need to toss their molds in the trash and remake them. I worked at a place making carbon fiber parts and it’s not that hard to make a good mold that produces parts too almost factory fitment. It’s like they literally didn’t even test fit any of their own products.

    I bought years ago a full front wide kit for my eg6 from NBC racing, a french company, 50mm wider each side plus a front bumper "OEM" style, it fit really well with pre-made holes and kevlar reinforcement for brackets, tabs and every hole. It wasn't cheap but worked perfect. Now when looking for parts for my other cars there are too many companies selling stuff that I don't have any experience or even heard before if they are worth giving a shot, and the good products have their prices through the roof.

    I spaced out the fenders on my 94 civic. I added 1" spacers to the fender bracket and pulled the corner lights with the fender so you couldn't tell. Then I redrilled the holes by the door to be able to pull the fenders and keep them pulled while not being able to see the mods. Idk how much space I gained, but it did stop some rubbing

    Side note. I need a live event. My CRX throws a p1259 and stays in limp mode (4k rpm max). But I just removed the head to replace valve guides, install Type S oil pump, and 45 deg. vtc. I never had the oil switch installed cause Rywire had it wired from an old single wire plug. I installed an oil pressure sensor now. Maybe that code will go away now?

    They probably use polester resin which shrink and warp easier than vinylester and during shipping or storage with temp changes, also wrapping it up tight and getting tossed into a hot truck will warp em.

    Hey this is a tangent but would it be relatively simple to swap a k20z3 into a 06 Acura csx manual transmission with k20z2. What would I need other than engine. The 06 si wiring harness and ecu?.. not a lot of info out there on this swap!

    • @VTECAcademy
      @VTECAcademy  Год назад +1

      You could probably use the CSX harness. You’d just need the ECU and Acura or Honda to reflash for your key to work.
