To some of us, this rendition can bring on the waterworks...especially if we're healing from old trauma. A soul, be it in a child's or adult's body, can only take so much abuse before they decide "Okay, F this, I'm done putting up with these bullies who want to make me feel worthless, just so they can feel momentarily good about themselves. I need to go have a chat with Karma, let her take care of it. 😜"
My brain is desperately trying to convince itself that the band and those kids aren't in the same room, but it's failing. That's how good this video is.
This is so fucking well-edited. The way the kids touch the floor on the second verse "flooooOOOOOOOOR". The "yaaaay!"s. The 1,2,3,4 cheering. The way the kid at 0:55 looks like she's singing along "let the bodies". The "Shhhhhhh" part. Literally phenomenal.
I mean the funniest part of this is that is basically what the Kid's Bop series does in real life. Take very adult songs and turn them into kid's songs. On another note we now need a lullaby version when where the singer stays at the whispering level of volume for the entire song.
It'd be easy to just dub on jingly sounds and kids cheering and call it a day, but I love how much work you put into these. The kids singing the numbers, the little animations, the timing of the kids dancing and singing, the "shhhh" near the end. It all works so well. Bravo my man.
