- In this video we take a peek in two of my rock tumblers at some really pretty rocks that have been in polish for several weeks. The agates, petrified wood and flint look amazing. Some of the jasper and chert could be better. I think I know what the issue is. Watch and see...

Hi Mike, The bubblegum agates turned out wonderful!! Great job! The AZ. pet wood is always super nice when polished. Thumbs up! Have a great day! Jim
@@rockman531 ya know just the fact that I understand your shorthand scared me a bit. If my teenage self talked about polishing rocks I would beat myself up. But I like pretty things. And my 8 year old son is more excited than me to check the progress of the tumblers. We moved our first batch to polish today. They are mainly river quartz with red staining. Few other rocks I collected not sure what they are but look nice. I may send you a picture of them when they are done to see if you know what they are. Thumbs up Richard
@@rockman531 don't want to bother you. But I know you have great experience. I am just learning. We have no rockhounding in Florida except for store parking lots. Thanks Walmart. I am grateful for what you sent. Probably would have paid you more than you charged. You support Mike and I blame him for showing me how with just a bit of effort I can turn normal stones into something nice. the gold recovery from e waste keeps me busy but the rocks take care of themselves. I was surprised to see some disintegrate into small pieces but figured hey media is good. Anyhow I may lean on ya both for advice and if you have other rocks hit me up.
@@richardhulbert9480 Sounds good! Fingers crossed that they all shine like crazy! Jim
@@richardhulbert9480 I'll take a look around the garage - not sure if there's any tumbling rough left??.The only items I have for sale on Craigs List is what's left of my trade show inventory. One item is approximately 320 polished agates, jaspers, petrified woods, & some quartz pieces. There's over 25 different kinds of rocks. Another item is a box of 24 pieces of Madagascar Labradorite polished pieces, A 3rd item is a 23 piece box of Snowflake Obsidian. Pictures are with the listings on Phoenix's Craigs List. Have a wonderful day! Jim
BEAUTIES MATE!!!
Ya know the slurry would cloud things a bit but was thinking of a clear barrel if you could see through to the rocks? Not sure if they exist.
I used my ultra sonic cleaner for the first time before sending my first barrel to polish. It's taken awhile but they are looking nice. All rocks from my trip to NC
They do exist, but I'd assume they'd get frosted and opaque pretty quickly.
Maybe a dumb question? Forgive. Me but you say we can re use the cerium oxide polish. You pour it into a bucket and let it settle. Can you pour the slurry from the polish barrel to the next polish barrel or does it have to settle out?
@@richardhulbert9480 Some people do that. I just have such a large scale operation going that I empty a lot of tumblers with polish in them at once, but don't necessarily have another one ready to start polish.
