  • @solutioneers1
    @solutioneers1 4 месяца назад +1

    I worked as a lighting person on these interviews (hidden behind the black screen in the interview room) --lit primarily with a "china ball" paper lantern light. Of interest is one of the camera persons was Albert Maysles who co-directed the documentary "Gimme Shelter" the 1970 film about the Rolling Stones Altamont concert. He used his original 16mm Aaton camera (shooting black and white film) which had these clever modifications including a dental mirror and number markings painted backwards so they could be read in the mirror, and a light meter mounted onto the camera. Thanks for posting!

      The Brian Jones era was the best era. Brian brought African American blues to the mainstream and advanced the sound. Brian was a true bluesman with every bone in his body. Doesn’t get enough credit for transforming the entire music industry in the early 60s. As the Beatles were releasing #1 love songs, Brian and the stones were churning out some of the best music at the time. Listen to Brian’s slide on red rooster or the harmonica on Not Fade Away. True masterpiece of sound

      @@henryslatt9041 Not sure. The Beatles, like the Stones were regularly covering Blues staples then, especially live. It was the reason many bands were forming then? After many of the blues performers like Chick Berry, etc toured and got played a lot in Europe.

      @franktheo2055 2 года назад +1

      @@henryslatt9041 From 1964 until 1968 musically was The Rolling Stones most creative period of growth. Brian Jones was able to pickup any instrument and play it fluently. Despite the fact he never sang or wrote a song, what he incorporated into Jagger Richards compositions was the root and foundation and identity of the band. I became a Stones fan since i was a kid during the 1960's and everyone says that Exile on Main Street was their best album ever and it's a great double album, but I always felt that Beggars Banquet was The Rolling Stones at their very best. Be Well !

      The writing credits on the Stones stuff, especially their 60’s and early 70’s songs, is pretty shady at times. Obviously it was Jagger/Richard that did the most of it, but leaving out Bill Wyman and especially Brian Jones from their rightful credits, is the kind of sh*te you’d expect from the likes of Don Arden or Allen Klein.

I know how much Keith was closest to Charlie. Especially now that Keith is FREE from all addictions Im sure his heart ♥️ is especially broken .All the Stones are hurting. But Charlie was especially caring and loving to Keith. Im sure Charlie is in heaven at peace and wanting to make sure Keith stays as sober and loving as he is today. Charlie was indeed loved. I saw Ron Wood standing back of me at a club called Dancesteria in the early 80s. We both said hello to each other. Another lovely persona. All of the stones are . Mick never saw him outside of the stage but never a dull moment when he was always on stage. Always perfect vocals!!!! Once introduced the band members on stage and said: This is our drummer Charlie Watts, Charlies looking pretty good tonight hey. Was very sweet as Charlie for one of a very few times I ever saw him smile so widely onstage. Keith, is tight! Stop worrying about aging! We all have to keep a bit of is at 15 in our minds to enjoy life and not look forward to any wonder still have in our lives!! He is right folks!!!!!!!! I hope to still love music , people, and still love every song they have ever written. Just sorry I have No sympathy For the devil but hey if you do thats your path. Wont knock you for it! Nor Mick! Saw the Vodoo Lounge tour at Jack Murphy stadium in San Diego. It was awesome with one exception(Seal opened up for them) so I had to endure an hour of his music(kiss from the rose ect.). Stones played an epic set that night, huge blow up dolls on stage. I will remember it until the day I day. I saw the stones playing tight,sober and in their prime.

    Jaggers flippant comment about Bill leaving shows me what a jerk Jagger is - -Bill Wyman is a great bass player- the man they chose to replace him is no Bill Wyman

    Yeah, I'm not digging on how they just discard Bill. I think over time that has healed. However, Keith wrote a book and only mentioned Bill three or four times.

    • @Viajealduende
      @Viajealduende 5 лет назад +2

      Bill split and they rolled on. I don't think they were that happy with Bill about leaving so they acted like it's no big deal, especially Jagger. To add to that they were likely put off by him as he had just written STONE ALONE and they may not have liked some of what Bill had to say from his point of view, like claiming to have written the main riff to Jumping Jack Flash. The story went that Mick and Keith were writing the song at Keith's country house and they'were working on the song when an old guy names Jack was doing some gardening adn they named if after him. Plus the riff really is another version of Satisfaction. Bill said he quit more from being tired of the long tours than any other reason.
