Besides that study for the additional rules such as night time flying and flying over people (it ain't much) . Thanks for this great information, 808state! I'm ordering a module today. I have no intention of ignoring these FAA rules. I'm a licensed drone pilot and shoot commercial work for clients. It would kill my reputation if it were known I had violated any regulations. I have another question, sir. Have you tried any of the current generation of Autel batteries in your Evo 2 Pro V1 drone? I need new batteries for mine but Autel would not answer this question for me as they say they no longer provide 'service' to the V1. Thank you!

      I am already on my 12th set throughout the past 4 years . My v1 is my workhorse because she takes off anywhere. I had no issues with any of the later Gen batteries. As long as it's a battery for the evo2pro it doesn't matter if it's v1, v2 or v3 they all work. How do I know ? Because I also own a v3 rtk and even those batteries work with my v1 because the drone itself is an autel Evo 2 Pro

    808, what is the punishment for not being RID compliant? Fines? Imprisonment?
    All of the apps that I found in the Apple App Store do not work with IOS smartphones. Kudos to Apple! RID is unconstitutional. It has nothing to do with safety and in fact, drones have an excellent safety record vs manned aircraft. It’s all just very frustrating that this is being forced upon people.

      Fines vary, depending on situation. If you get caught by Law Enforcement doing something illegal without Remote ID on top of that, the fines can vary from $2500 to $50000 as far as I have seen their rule book. Enforcement will take a lot of time and man power which either the faa nore law enforcement has BUT it's all about the WHAT IF cases that will blow up big time. I am part 107 so I rather be safe than sorry.

      @@808-Stat3How about the the couple million budget drones that are 500 or 300 or 251 grams? The drones all ages fly over an empty field? Do you really think people are going to buy a $200 RID module for the 3 times a year they fly their drone? And yes $200. You can't buy Holystone in Europe and most other countries.
      I will tell you what you and those idiot politicians missed. Today I gave some kid across the street a $40 drone. A toy with optical flow and 480P camera. He was really happy with his present because he loves things that fly. But he can't. In Europe you have to register for all drones with a camera. Unless it's something for under 14 years of age. That leaves out 99,99 of all drones.
      Now you as a law abiding drone guy with your fancy Autel and he knows what don't care. You just pay your registration and buy a RID module or several. It's your hobby. You probably spend thousands. But not everybody likes to fly drones all week. I only have a a drone for that 2 weeks bike trip every year. To use my Fimi A3 I have to pay 10+13 Euro registration, 99+10 on a license. And now I still can't use it without Remote ID. All for 1 or 2 minutes footage in the middle of nowhere!
      So I think I will start another hobby. Collect guns. Buy some in the USA where owning a gun is pretty much free of any restrictions. But a tiny drone!!!!! Oh wow. It's the ends of the world. Weapon of mass destruction. After all hobby drones killed ..........0 people in all those years. There wasn't even a serious injury.
      Sorry. But when I see people who think it's the most normal thing in the world to put a license plate and Karen tracker on a camera just because it flies it makes me realize how f....d up this word has become.

    • @driewiel
      @driewiel 7 месяцев назад

      @@808-Stat3 And I know. It's not your fault. It's nobody's fault. It's THE LAW! Police is going to drive around all day in their cars that kill 1.3 million people every year to catch those drone criminals who didn't put a RID module on their 251 gram drone with camera. If they catch them it will be world peace and all problems are solved.
      But I just wish more people would say to hell with the law. Bad guys break good laws, and good guys break bad laws.
      So since I'm a criminal flying my Fimi without RID already, I won't pay my registration for next year. What's the use? Even with RID I could without knowing fly 1 meter too close to an empty barn. I then get the fine send to me automatically thanks to my RID module. Hopefully the farmer who shoots my drone out of the air won't drop it near the prison or they lock me up thanks to my registration ID! There's no way I can prove it wasn't me flying there.

    I'm so disappointed in autel, how is it that the mavic air 2 was able to simply firmware update... but the evo 2 pro v1 a far superior machine couldn't. Guess it wasn't really superior after all and was a giant waste of my time because I refuse to dump more into it when autel just bailed on their community.

    • @808-Stat3
      @808-Stat3  4 месяца назад

      The E2P V1 wasn't the only drone that wasn't able to support RID thru software update. Chipsets were non compatible with the RID software requirements through out multiple drone companies such as Holystone and even dji itself. It was thru chip changes in late 2021 that apparently made it possible to simply firmware update and meet requirements. The v3 support RID . RID is a must for Part107. If I were strictly recreational I would honestly disregard it lol

    No thanks. Non compliance is the only way forward. Just making these videos is damaging to the hobby. The FAA needs to see a unified push back against this dangerous nonsense.
    I asked the FAA directly what sort of risk assessment they have done for us drone and rc plane pilots, in terms of bad actors using RID to find our location and mugging us. Their response? Worse than none, they laughed and joked that our safety is our responsibility. So if that's the case, then I'm taking responsibility for it and won't ever be complying with their bullshit.

    • @808-Stat3
      @808-Stat3  8 месяцев назад +2

      Not sure how I damage the hobby since it's informational for those who want to comply. As a part 107 pilot I won't have a choice if I plan to retain my license. The issue is the "What If" scenarios when I will have to report a damaging crash during Client work. The fines imposed during non compliance would kill my company and existence. Therefore I decide to comply. New Drones already have it implemented anyways.
