What great role models you are for your children. God Bless. Love watching , been watching ever since you made that cat "house" for the stray outside cats someone left many houses ago .
Hi Doug and Ashly. I have followed you both since kokomo Indiana. I’ve restored muscle cars for 25 years. I love seeing young people taking interest in refurbishing a vehicle. I love your work ethic . Stay blessed..
When I started watching your channel Maverick was just a baby, and now just look at him. He is such a big boy and a really good helper. After all these years of watching you two fix things he has learned so much. He and Belle are so lucky to have such good parents. 💖
Great project for you guys, Ashley has a noticeable peace emanating from her soul. Husband and wife being able to spend time together and do a project like this is awesome. The sweet satisfaction that comes along with fulfilling goals as you progress is even better. Huge props to you both for taking it head on !!!!! Be safe and truly have fun!!!
I am enjoying watching you two transform a neat little car into Ashley's vision. I always wanted a Festiva but you almost never see them even when they were new. Can't wait to see your vision complete. Phil
I love the look of determination that Maverick had when he was removing the carpet clips. He looked like a mini Doug. It’s fun to see how he has grown up so much over the last few years. You guys just never cease to amaze me! That car is going to be sweet when it’s completely restored. Keep up the great work👍🏻Thanks for sharing😊
Hi Doug and Ashley. Wow! You guys really took it apart....great job! How cute is Maverick helping his mom🤩. Thanks for sharing guys....keep safe and God bless your beautiful family 👨👩👧👦 🤲💐
Several years ago, you mentioned in a video that Ashley suffers from some depression and anxiety. This is such a great project for her. Having been diagnosed many years ago with depression, one of the things I learned was keeping my brain occupied and my hands busy! So you aren’t living in your head. While she tackles rebuilding a car, I use cross stitching reproduction samplers.
Love the change of pace with the car videos. I worked in the auto upholstery business all my life and taking out the carpets is the best thing you could have done. Once the padding underneath gets wet the smell never goes away. Thanks for all you videos, Love you guys!
Awww, look at Maverick helping his Mom! So sweet. I loved watching him with the tool helping with taking the carpet out. Belle is a beautiful young girl and looks like her Mom!😉💕
It was incredibly wholesome to watch you and Maverick remove the carpet. Very awesome to see you disassemble the interior. Thank you for taking us along with you on this project. I’ve been following you guys since almost 2 years now, and I do not plan on stopping. Can’t wait for more updates! Much love from The Netherlands. Be safe and take care. 😆❤️
What a fantastic learning experience for ALL, including us! I just can't imagine putting it all back together again, but I'm trusting in your abilities. I especially loved watching the hands on teaching of Maverick.
ACC might make a carpet kit for the Festiva. When I dis-assemble cars I bag and tag the bolts and fasteners so I know where they came from. You night also want to take the hvac box apart to clean out possible mold or mouse droppings and replace the heater core now while it's easy to access. There are more seals to be replaced on the mode doors in the hvac box. Great job, I'm a car guy so I enjoy this part of your channel.
How amazingly awesome. Maverick has got the “ just get it done” gene from u two. Watching him work in the middle of this increases it’s cool level. Great job Maverick!!
What a fun video! Working together on a unique project, Ashley explaining, Belle peaking in, and Maverick learning by getting tools in hand...it all made a great video.
I relish in your smiles, nothing gets you two down-amazing❤️‼️Oh! What a great gift of that impact tool, just the best for making quick work of some of the tough stuff‼️‼️
I love all the interesting projects you two come up with! It was awesome seeing the kids joining in and helping. Maverick sure is growing up! He did a great job helping pull up that carpet! God bless yous!
Love watching you diy everything. It's how we've always done things too. It's like I'm right there, enjoying the new creation. I'm an old girl now (84) and can't do or don't want to do as much as I used to, but people think that girls of the 40s and 50s didn't do much. It's just the oposite. We did it all. I raised 4 kids, fixed and painted everything around home, helped fix the cars too and held a full time job. All my friends did the same things. There's a lot of misunderstanding about us. Carry on Ashley. You've got a great teacher, and a great attitude. Nice to have a rig you can say you brought back to life. Enjoy.
Good Morning Doug & Ashley,I just love your personalities & attitudes. You both are awesome.I have no doubt that you will get the car running.Have a great week & Bless your family!🌷💕🌷
So far, apart from the gross mess of dampness and water, the shell is looking sound and not damaged, so a great basis for your project. It is a sound idea to get all that mess and water removed before it can cause any further damage, and see if you can find out which drainage point let the water in the wrong way, heaters and vents are prime candidates. You are now the proud owners of car inside components that will appear to have the volume of 3 or 4 times the size of the vehicle they came out of, it is always the way. It was lovely to see Maverick doing and learning what it was all about, making this a family project as well as a life lesson on using tools the right way.
Doug, Hi Good morning, just watch your video, awesome...!, I just wanted to give you some advice if you allow me to, Cars are my passion, and I have been a Mechanic all of my life, so cars are no doubt up my alley. when you get the used engine, make sure you take care of these things while the newer engine is out and not yet installed. Change the thermostat, change the timing chain, change the hoses and belts, change all the gaskets including the Head Gasket, change the valve springs and boots. it is so much easier to do all these changes before you install this newer engine, also you want to be sure that these things are already done before you install it, and also it will save you time and headaches down the road, you can relax knowing that these things are done, good luck with that Doug, I will be following you through this whole project because this is something I love to do, it is my passion to work on cars. Carmen & I send our regards to you, to Ashley & to the kids. From your friends in Lima Peru George & Carmen
Hi Belle and Maverick! You two are growing up so fast and you have such a wonderful Mom and Dad who are teaching you very important lessons every day. Belle, I cannot imagine a better place to live to help you further your interest in nature and your beautiful art work. Your drawings are exquisite, just as you are. Little Maverick, I am so impressed by your ability to help Mom and Dad with any chore. You did a great job helping Mom remove the carpet in her car. You are very strong and I know Mom appreciates your help! I like the boots you were wearing. I have similar boots that I wear out in my yard when I work with my flowers. Ashley and Doug, thank you for another interesting video and for taking us along with you. Sending big hugs and much love from Tennessee!
Maverick is getting so Big! I loved seeing him help. When he said, I'm helping you mommy to Ashely, I melted. So cute. The car will no doubt be amazing when your done with it. 👍
Well... even if you never get the engine running, you'll have the coolest yard ornament/kid's play area in the neighborhood! What a wonderful family project.
Love watching Belle and Maverick's reaction to remove inside of car parts. Maverick really wants to be a part and is learning so much from you two. Belle is so beautiful. I love watching you two work together. Thank you for taking us along on your projects. I love them all!!!
Ashley looked like she was having so much fun there, more smiles than in all the previous years I have been watching. Maverick is growing so fast he was just a small baby when I first saw him.
I’m amazed at both of you. You tackle projects that most people would or could never do. You don’t let fear of how to put it back together stop you. I am really impressed. Looking forward to seeing what color Ashley chooses to paint her car.
Not everyone can make deconstructing a junk car into drama that never bores and positively educates! My hat is off to you. I eagerly await every episode.
Ashley you are so cute and tiny, and you have come so far in the last few years, when you absolutely refused to be on camera 📷 😊 it's so good to see you smile, love you all,and praying for you
Why are people so quick to make judgement statements? If you don't like, fine. Ashley wants this car. It's practical and economic. And she's happy. And her husband is making it happen for her.
Essence of "Detail Geek". Love it!! Can't get over what tremendous shape the car's body has!! So wonderful to see Maverick jumping in there and learning new skills, too. Your children are a blessing to you both, but you don't need me to be telling you that. God keep you all.
Nice job love to see Maverick working, that’s teaching him to see work as something fun and that he is capable to perform any task that you allow him 👍🙏🏼👏🏼

You did a great job Maverick helping your mommy. Ashley and Doug it's great how you let the kids get involved. You're teaching them how to do stuff that other kids want ever learn. Doug you are a great husband by helping Ashley to obtain something that she wants. I love camping and when my husband got sick needing a liver transplant we lost everything we had. We are doing OK now and he said something about a camper so I told him not to mention it. But he told me this morning that he's put money in a camper fund so we can get another one. Used of course but the last one we had was used so that's OK. Love to your family!
We're gonna make this car cool again... I did have to laugh on that. Doug & Ashley, I never thought of a Ford Festiva as a cool car but I know you like them so to each his own. Having fun watching you though. Keep up the good work!
You two are so cool and never fail to entertain. I know how capable you both are but to see Ashley turning wrenches is pretty neat. The sword in the stone reference, priceless 👌
That was enjoyable Ashley you go girl pulling That car apart like it was nothing and when Maverick got in there to help that was so sweet you guys be safe and God bless
I love seeing Mav help too! Great job and I was happy to hear you say you’re painting the dashboard. Keeping a lot of the original parts and painting them is awesome!
Mavrick did a great job removing those plastic retainers, just like a professional tech. Glad to see him getting involved in the project. Just something you want to consider while the dash is out. If it was me, I would get a new heater core and replace it, especially since the thing has had regular tap water running through it, which tends to rot the bottom of cores out. I would hate to see you guys get the car back together, running and a few months down the road having a wet carpet because of a leaking heater core. They are not that expensive and that would save you from having to pull the dash again.
Wow, when you 'take out the interior' you really take out the interior!! LOL One thing - thank you so much for being such awesome parents that you let Maverick take his time to help you on the dismantling. Growing up, my parents were never patient enough to wait while I tried to help and learn so they would just do things and had me watch.... never really helped me to learn.
I can see how amazing that car is going to be. Hopefully now the naysayers can see the potential in this car it's going to be practically new and oh so cute and practical! The gas is going to be wonderful. Perfect family car small but perfect.
Any chance we can get a video on how you guys are living while working and waiting on being able to work on the house more? Like are y’all still in the van? Etc. just a video idea. Love you guys! So inspirational!❤
@ 11:45 on the red painted wheel well is a frog. I wasn't expecting to see that ! 🐸 I'm loving the Festiva rebuild !🚙 Love you all, been subscribed since the red and white mobile home, I just don't comment very often, but I never miss one video . 💕

I'm so thrilled the whole family got involved especially Maverick I think it's good for him to learn auto mechanics even if it's only taking apart and and I enjoyed seeing the anthropologist both of them are growing like weeds it must be the Florida climate and you two are looking good I think Florida is good for both of you and the family
Oh wow! When you both have a break could you come help an old lady out with replacing a water pump and cleaning out the carpet that has been soaked with antifreeze on the passenger's side? 🤣 You both inspire me to learn and try to fix things on my own. I noticed in today's vlog just how much Maverick has grown since you've been in FL! He's such a good helper. I still think Belle should have some of her own videos teaching kids and adults about all kinds of flora and fauna. I enjoy seeing her bugs, insects and such. Take care and God bless! 😊🙏🏻🌻❤️
This has been such an awesome and fun video watching Ashley so happy tearing out the inside of her car. She is so amazing it’s usually you Doug with the power tools. Festiva is going to look so cool❤️👏🏻👏🏻

I really like watching these videos, reminds me of my youth. Running around in sports cars, get my elbows dirty. Enjoy your life now, age sneaks up on you. Great Video !!!
I had a little Ford Fiesta and I learned to drive a stick in 4 hours. It was either that or continue to walk to work. Oh my goodness! Maverick helping out in removing the carpet was just too cute! He had a blast doing it. Way to go Mom!! And Ashley...your smile is getting bigger and brighter! That was a fun video to watch. Thank you!

Yep. I don’t care for Fords and I’ve owned a few lol

It's really not even a Ford, technically. It was made by Kia Motors and has a Mazda engine. :)

I love small hatchbacks (had a Geo Metro and a Dodge Colt) and I'm really happy that you're giving this little guy a second chance at life.
Might as well go for it you guys!❤
This has been such an awesome and fun video watching Ashley so happy tearing out the inside of her car. She is so amazing it’s usually you Doug with the power tools. Festiva is going to look so cool❤️👏🏻👏🏻
I am so impressed with the amount of knowledge Ashley has on automotive things! Great job!
Good morning wow alot of work but it's done and can't wait to see what's next ! I'm so excited for you Ashley and for your new car cause it's gonna be pretty much new by the time your done . Later you all
I really like watching these videos, reminds me of my youth. Running around in sports cars, get my elbows dirty. Enjoy your life now, age sneaks up on you. Great Video !!!
I would never remember how it goes back together after removing so much at once; good thing you made this video!
Once again you two have tackled what most would think impossible. I have faith in you to create something far better than it was! As usual…
Wow you guys can’t wait to see your next video on this build …
When you guys finish with that car, it might be a great little car for Belle to learn to drive! 👍👍
Thank you!
When you get the interior all pretty again, invest in the Weather tech liners for the floors. Soooooo worth it!
i honestly never doubted one bit ya'll get it up and runnin wow dandy tool these kids will grow up being jack of all trades
