they didn't ever finish an ascention for scorch earth because at the time they had a lawsuit from a company as ark was being built behind that companys back as a secret little project
The sun rising at the end of Extinction is such a big thing because the Earth had stopped rotating and it was permanently daytime. There hadn't been a sunrise in decades, maybe centuries. Those Megalosaurus eating your arms while the sun was up isn't an oversight.
RaptorJesusGaming yeah. They said in the dossiers that the aberration creatures evolved over time when its overseer died. Evolution takes millions of years to evolve bioluminescence and the other traits the aberration creatures had.
It kinda confuses me thou shouldn’t the sun be setting, the sun is always up on extinction since the earths rotation stopped
As a guy who likes Space/Sci-fi games and movies, I couldn't help but try to hold back my tears at how beautiful these ascensions and the whole story are.
To be Honest, aberration ascension is my fav, music and animation is top notch and i love how you go through the entire map and everything.

This ascension we are talking about is from extinction dlc whose story takes place after abberation the player whom i like to call 'liberator' personally is the one who slayed rockwell but we forget one thing 'overseers can not be killed' but players cant ascend to other arks and gain more power rockwell is different than a over seer he is a former human who still has a part of consiousness which may hold the grudge ...so in short "i am home" is the last thing i would here

Jp Jp I think what happened was the arks were built on earth and then shot into space to act as satellites around the earth. Interesting enough, I did a bit of research on why it seems like the arks work the way they do. I found some research into how they would work and some parts actually make a bit more sense than you realize

Its such a shame that this amazing story is hidden for most players since they never fought any bosses or read the explorer notes. Maybe some dialogue would have helped to establish YES there is in fact a story :D

All the Arks were doing was deleting the excess. Not all of it, but there needs to be a balance.

The arks were meant as a huge reset button to allow humanity make a comeback due to the misuse of element and caused the extinction of man which started project ARK. Perhaps some of the arks contain a warning for those who find it telling them “hey you got a second chance be careful with your use of technology don’t fuck this up” it would make sense for all element related technologies to be rendered useless since element caused the planet to essentially die due to overuse (based on Santiago’s theory on element)

No, she isn't a hologram generated by micro-overseer. Explorer notes say that. And she wasn't the overseer from the base game. Read notes. About this speaking hologram: it seems to be Helena, there are a lot of clues in explorer notes, even if nothing tells it directly.
She became that by fusing with an artifact in a strange pool, and Mei Yin tried to keep the artifact away from Helena, but Helena stole it from Mei Yin and became a homodeus
To me the best ascension was the aberration one.

Rockwell is Enid Rockwell correct me if I sleep emid wrong but he is Rockwell emid threw himself into melted down element and became Rockwell the final boss for aberration and like some on els said at the end of the ascen for extinction he roared and at the end of aberration you are at the end of extinction

Scorched Earth was 'a challenge' in the middle of the storyline, not a part of the story.

@@aodhGillespie because in THEORY that was the ark of helena, santiago, rockwell etc. And had no ascension because the ark is like unlocked by the original habitants and you don't need to fight the overseer and you can go werever you want. The Manticore is like the "challenge" that put helena to you. Why the ark is dry? I no sure, but i remember that in one note of Rockwell explain that, after beating the overseer, the supply of water that form oceans, rivers lakes, etc wasn't funcionating
@@aodhGillespie and there is a theory that suggest that the ark doesn't have like a proposit, is like the prototype of the ark that hasn't meant to descend to earth and has no ascension because is a prototype and doesn't have a objective and probably is the ark were the overseers throw the rebel humans and die for hunger, thirst etc
@@aodhGillespie and then is valguero, ragnarock, and The Center, the "special arks" that all are variants of the island if you pay attention and are like, the experiment of arks. The Center is the experiment of many islands and to much water and is meant to test how the humans adapt to less land and more ocean. Ragnarock is the experiment to how the humans survive against a very hostile ambient were you have wyverns, desert, t rex, titanosaurs, and very mountains forest and a big large swamp. Valguero is like "what if we put a little more of element in the island" the result is a Aberrant zone that probably expand beuond time, a very forestal and mountains terrains and subacuatic oceans
