ALRIGHT! Those of us down here in Akron fondly recall the inspirational services held at the old Akron Armory when Temple, under Pastor Ward, and Bethel Baptist, under Pastor Humphrey, praised God in downtown Akron. If you didn't come early you didn't get a seat, if you didn't get a seat you stood up inside, if you couldn't stand up inside then you stood up outside. The armory stood on a hill on High Street, and is the present site of the Ocasek Building. Those services made the hill shake!

As a young teenager me and my friends Mickey & Rickey Sales use to be at almost every broadcast. We would leave our broadcast at New Light Baptist Church on Corlett Ave headed to 71st & Cedar to see Professor Wade, John Campbell on the organ, Eddie Montgomery on the piano and hear the dynamic Rev. A.E,. Campbell Jr. preach out of his soul. This was from 1974 - 1977 then I left Cleveland and went into the Army, but those were good days.
