As a young teenager me and my friends Mickey & Rickey Sales use to be at almost every broadcast. We would leave our broadcast at New Light Baptist Church on Corlett Ave headed to 71st & Cedar to see Professor Wade, John Campbell on the organ, Eddie Montgomery on the piano and hear the dynamic Rev. A.E,. Campbell Jr. preach out of his soul. This was from 1974 - 1977 then I left Cleveland and went into the Army, but those were good days.

Good singing and instrumentation. Are some of the choir members in this video former members of the broadcast choir from 30, 35 years ago?

Ever so often a group of us would journey from Akron to the broadcast at the Temple, right there at 7500 Cedar Avenue. Believe me, with "professor" Wade on piano, John Campbell on organ, and any number of people directing (sometimes Leon Lawrence), the broadcast choir would be in full effect. Of course, just listening to the broadcast over WCUE at 11:00 pm was spiritually uplifting as well. But there was nothing like being there.

ALRIGHT! Those of us down here in Akron fondly recall the inspirational services held at the old Akron Armory when Temple, under Pastor Ward, and Bethel Baptist, under Pastor Humphrey, praised God in downtown Akron. If you didn't come early you didn't get a seat, if you didn't get a seat you stood up inside, if you couldn't stand up inside then you stood up outside. The armory stood on a hill on High Street, and is the present site of the Ocasek Building. Those services made the hill shake!

I attended Temple Baptist church and sang in the choir. Loved Rev Ugene Ward. Nobody could sing like he could.

Temple Baptist Church founded (March 1952 - Rev. Eugene W. Ward, Sr.) "The Lord Is On My Side!" (Psalms 118:6) theme song for every sunday night broadcast. Dr. A. E. Campbell, Jr. standing tall in the pulpit..Prof. James Wade was Minister Of Music for almost 50 years..What a joy to hear Min. John Campbell playing the organ when the choir sang "The Lord Is On My Side!"..Rev. Sedric D. Veal, Sr."The Mississippi Preacher" is now the great pastor there..A Dynamic Man Of God! (PRECIOUS MEMORIES)
