Draw ANYTHING in 4 Steps (GOAD Method)
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 21 июл 2024
- Draw anything using these 4 basic steps, which I use to start most of my sketches and art. I developed this drawing method over the years and decided to break things down in this quick step-by-step tutorial to help beginners and those looking for other ways to approach their drawings.
After quickly breaking down pencils and the graphite grading scale, I dive into my GOAD drawing method:
* Grip
* Outlines
* Angles
* Details
I do a couple more quick drawings at the end to show you how this method can apply to anything, really.
Subscribe to my channel, if you haven’t already, so you don’t miss any of my how-tos and art demos.
Shoutout to Chris Spiegl (@chrisspiegl) on Unsplash.com. I used his photo for my reference image.

Honestly this is one of the first art tip videos that actually helped me
That's awesome!
I agree.

“Hold the pencil near the middle or end so it’s lighter and flows from the wrist”
Me, who holds my pencil so close to the tip that when I use markers my fingers get a ton of ink on them
LOL. I've been there.
Wow, I’ve noticed a bunch of things I’ve been doing wrong, or at least things that make my art a bit more difficult. I’ve been trying to get back into classic drawing, and this was really informative, thank you!
That's great to hear. These simple things have really helped me over the years too.
Finally, I can practice by knowing what to do, not just getting told to “practice” without getting told what to do, thanks for the tips :).
Hehe. I'm glad I could help you out some.
This is so helpful!! I’m really bad at drawing so this was quite a boost for me!
Glad I could help!

Yoo that’s me
I've done two of your videos, I swear they are by far easier to understand than any other videos I have watched on RUclips. You explain everything so simply.
This really helped me. This guy is Amazing!
Thanks. Glad it helped you!
You're the best I love your work !
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it.
Your an amazing youtuber and I can see you becoming successful
I appreciate that. Thank you!
Np
I do to
This vid helped a lot I saw a big improvement in my drawings thanks
Glad I could help!
Omg literally no one else explains as deep as this!
My sister also really needs to watch this; her “sketch” is holding the pencil close to the lead and marking as hard as possible, so when she erases, there’s a little grey dent in the paper.
Oh, I think we've all been there. Flashbacks to little RTIFEX days - having to erase so hard you put a hole in the paper. 😆
This really helped with my art, thank you so much!
Glad I could help!

**saves to each later for when I’m drawing**
This is very helpful! I've been trying to draw more realistically and this really helped, thanks a lot :D!!
I'm happy to hear that.
Thanks, is this in any way applicable to pixel art? If not, I'm completely fine since you helped me draw on paper
You're welcome. I use this for digital drawing too, but I do find it easier to outline on larger surfaces. It's still possible though. Sometimes, I'll start on paper and then refine the sketch digitally after uploading it to the tablet or computer.
One of the only good ads
This is one of the best toturials. I highly recommend this to anyone who is starting out from no experience.
Thank you very much! I'm glad you found it helpful.

Have you ever used a paper smudge tool? It’s maybe my favorite thing for art ever! It makes shading so easy and fun you should try it if you haven’t!
Oh yeah, I love using them. I even use them to add shading from the stick after smudging with them and building up a layer of graphite.
Your art is amazing! Love this, nice work! 💖💖
Thank you very much!
Great Tutorial. Thank You for taking the time to make this video
I needed to see this. Thanks man. Appreciated
My pleasure, Random ant.
This is such a helpful video, finally something that teaches you how to do proper sketching
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks! I always had trouble with proportions on full body humans so that was a big help for me
I'm glad to hear it. Proportions can be very tricky, but understanding how to approach your measurements makes it a little less scary.
Love this tysm!
You're very welcome!
Thank so so so much 😊😊

I need to practice gosh
I always need practice.

😊
This is really helpful even though I mostly draw digital art. =D
Very cool. I may do a digital drawing video sometime.
finally, a video that doesn’t go from drawing a square to painting starry night
Lmao
Hehe. That was my goal. Sometimes I feel like I'm still going too fast.
I have all the same sets 😅
Nice! I love mine.
Keep going
I'll try!
Be king man
👍🏼
🙌
im not kidding this is work
Some days it definitely is.
My artist dream is going to be successful
Hii! You're underrated!
Hi, and thank you. 😁
Could you please do a a video how to draw eyes on a human body because I can't get the small proportions of it on a small drawing of someone?
Good idea. I'll look at going into details like eyes in a future video.
I just posted a detailed video on eyes, which hopefully helps you some: ruclips.net/video/wDg1P2s33Tk/видео.html. I know you said you're trying to get the proportions of eyes on a smaller drawing, but a bunch of people requested eyes specifically, so that was my focus here this time around. Still, maybe you'll get something out of it. 🙂
I subscribed now
Thanks

@@RTIFEX thanks for this beautiful video

So I have a question. I need help with hands could you explain how to draw them better if not that’s fine
Thanks for the feedback. I'll add this to my list of topics and consider doing a future video on it.
Ok, I just posted a hand-drawing video with some tips that will hopefully help you out: ruclips.net/video/SeHrKx32a5M/видео.html

Im currently drawing with an app! (IbisPaint x) and also learning how to draw and make it not look like crap! 😂 this helps me so much! (Even if you are doing it on paper qwq)
I'm very happy to hear that, Couch! Yeah, I do a lot of my work on paper, because I love the feel of it. One day, I'll probably do a digital drawing tips/tricks video, because other's have asked about it.
Yay!
CouchPotatö Gachå same
RTIFEX since you love the feel of paper then maybe when you do digital art, then if you have an iPad you can buy a paper like screen protector or a matte screen protector
Good idea!
You sound like Zach Braff!
Hehe, yeah? I've also gotten Seth Rogen.
This really helped me all I need to is to find good H4 I lost mine :(
✏
Here king
Haha, awesome.
Noooo! Mine's getting low.
You helped m
So happy to hear it.
I caught another underated youtuber.
Haha. Thank you.
RTIFEX of course, most of the other tutorials from you tubers with like 100k or something it doesn’t help me
Only 1 sentence want to say, you deaserve more subs
Thank you so much!
I'm still trying to draw a dot.
😆
Honestly not much different from doing the skeletal method. But seems effective for the non human parts that can be difficult to draw
Oh yeah. These methods are fairly interchangeable.
Pt 2?
🤔 Adding the idea to my list.
(Him makes something)
(Me: let’s see if I can.*draws circle* I DID IT!)
Now draw a circle inside that circle!
@@RTIFEX lmao ok...
Hey
👋
I got the same pencils😂
They're pretty great, huh? I'm getting low on some now though. 😕
Ya same
I read that as GOD method
Sure, that too. 😆
@RTIFEX, wanna do an art battle of some sort in the next few months or so. If so, I'd be down.
I might do art battles one day when I'm not so busy with other topics I have lined up. I'll keep you in mind! 😄
@@RTIFEX Cool, thanks, man!
He has 420 subs 🤣
I get so mad when I look at your subscribers. YOU 👏 NEED 👏 MORE 👏
I appreciate that!
It kinda looks like tsuki from haikyuu...
This was quite hard can you make one that’s so easy a kid can do cause I’m a kid and this ended up looking like Patrick star for me
Patrick star 😆. I'll look at doing some really fundamental videos that walk through the process more, sometime in the future. Thanks for the feedback!
it took me 3 hours to shade his upper lip...
It's probably the best drawing I've ever done.
Sensible method.
Okay that's unexpected
🤔
Who tf dislike the vid
Haha. Thank you.
See my issue is I can draw but I can’t for the love of god find an eraser in my house
