I couldn’t agree more. People pressuring people to be what they want them to be are the worst people. He wouldn’t be as good at what he loved if he wasn’t focused enough to do what was best for him. Take notes.

Yup Mister Cowherd nailed it:Mister Goat Jordan is unapologetic and is not trying to smooth whatever it is he said before. He ain't got time for that. And I think he said something great when he said "The way I live is I set the example, and If I inspire you, great. If I don't, well maybe I'm not the person for you" A lot of people need to accept that if certain athletes are not doing what you think suits you, well they are not the people for you.

  • @janmichaeltorzar5033

Yeah, I hope Isiah should be unapologetic too. He likes the attention of being the guy who is being mistreated. To the point it's already annoying. He likes the attention of being the victim in all of this, as if he was never a bad person, as if he doesn't know what he is doing during the bad boys era. Isiah should follow in Jordan's and Laimbeer's footsteps. BE ACCOUNTABLE OF YOUR ACTIONS. Not make excuses. Its either you are accountable of your actions, or apologize for your actions. There is no in-between.

MJ thinking I'm just know basketball, problem is that alot of black ppl wanted MJ to use his likeness against racism. In which MJ dont know how. I believe if MJ had an Ali in him he would but MJ didnt on that side of the fence and that's where black folks failed. Putting all our eggs in these black celebrities basket. When a person doesn't have a clue, we tell them to shut up like Barkley. Same time why get upset at MJ for not speaking when he really cant... he'll end up sounding dumb. At least MJ said about the running candidate.. I dont know him to speak for him. You have some ppl like Diddy and JayZ that goes out and they end up being dumb as hell. Colin answered this question from the perspective of why are athletes expected to participate in politics. The problem is there are blind spots that exist Within white people and so in a situation like this he ignores the fact that it was for a black politician not just a politician and that Michael Jordan being a black athlete and one of the most influential black people in the world being a black man has a certain unspoken duty to his people. And when you are black and Rich and influential and you do not use your influence to help your people you will be criticized.

Yeah, scoring 40 points when the highest team score is 87 is a different experience to see as a kid. The way defense was allowed to be played then, you had way less shooting opportunities, way less space. I love the game today but look at the highlights of MJ vs a James Harden. Look at the amount of space and contact between the defender and the ball handler. To score a third or a even half of your team's points when tough physical defense is the norm, you gotta be the man.

This is an expectation in our community it’s that if you “make it out” you should try to visibly help others ... it’s hard for you maybe to understand , but this is why the backlash from the community. Respect to MJ for sticking to his guns. But this is precisely why Ali - in an age before spin doctors, brand endorsements - transcended his sport, and finally every sport. There's never going to be someone to knock Ali off that perch as the greatest athlete of the 20th century, the century that birthed athletic super stars; I think people were so excited about Michael's rise that they hoped he'd do an Ali. MJ wasn't interested then, doesn't seem interested now. He is as consistent in his apolitical-bent as Ali was political.

1:05 As usual Cowherd only looks at one side of an equation. To say that it's "easy for average players" to take political stances, or they have nothing to lose is just false. If you're an average defensive back or shooting guard, and you're persona non grata in the league, especially American football, it might mean 5 figure earnings instead of 7, and possibly exile from a sport you've spent your life working on. That may not matter to you, a talk show host, but it matters plenty for the guy losing it.
It never bothered me that Jordan didn't publicly support candidates since it wasn't who he was. If he were politically active in college like Kareem and then shut his mouth once he started making money it would have been one thing. But to say he had everything to lose and some nondescript player loses nothing is idiotic. For a figure of Jordan's caliber, he could have lost sponsors, and not all at that. If you're famous enough, and somebody respects you, one sponsor may drop you and another is just as likely to pick you up.

Ali was political, and he remained the greatest of all time. Colin, do you not have the right to be yourself? Do you get owned by the big corporations? Is that what you are saying? Jordan should have been political, he had that responsibility. With great power, comes great responsibility. It is undeniable. Now, did he have to be political, NOPE! But people will look at him differently for not using his voice in ways that he could have and should have. It is unfortunate but yeah, when you are a big start, a celebrity, I am sorry but that all comes with the territory. Some say that parents are role models, yes, but it is an automatic given when you are on television, when you have followers, fans, it is your duty, whether you like it or not. That is just how it goes. Jordan is the GOAT! I am a huge Jordan fan, but that is the one thing that I wish he could have done and have more say in many other things.
