In my opinion it is not a junk drawer it’s a utility drawer. This way it is actually more realistic. It is serving a purpose! Two is more than perfectly fine! I love having rooms be as self sufficient as possible so I don’t have to go to a different room. Love it! Go girl! lol 🎉❤

Good morning! My goodness Ashley, seeing Savannah helping you, she is growing up so fast. I can’t believe how tall she has gotten! She’s a little lady now! It’s so fun when they’re old enough to help us! I always love tackling projects with my daughter! It makes it way more fun!😀
17:34 Yes! Every self-respecting -true mid-westerner has a junk drawer! I think two works for you, you have the space for the 2nd one in your utility room and it saves you time and energy to store those items for easy access instead of running to the basement or garage for often used items.
You have the space for two, be comfortable in your home and don’t worry about going down to just one.😊 I loved this and you are motivating me. Tomorrow I will tackle the desk in my home office😊
To help with overbuying makeup/skincare/hairspray/random whatevers, I find it easier to cut back when I look at the expiration dates to see if I can use it up before that. If I have anything approaching the expiration date & I'm not going to use it up by myself, it can be fun to invite friends over & do a makeup exchange/makeovers, or to just give it away as gifts. It makes me feel less guilty when it's not being thrown out.
You should do what you like. It is your house & if you want a junk drawer in your kitchen as well as your utility room then go for it. I love the black labels.! For my cord organization I use plastic pencil boxes and label the box such as kindle, apple, etc. Savannah is so tall now! She is starting to look a little more like you. She has looked so much like Chase since she was little & you started RUclips.

I say if you have 2 "junk" drawers but use them both regularly and have the space for it without compromising storage for something else then keep them! There's no reason to empty one and try to combine it if it's working for you and not needed elsewhere. Great video!
“ I’m gonna organize my organizers”. I felt that in my soul :):). My mom laughs at me at organizing so much. But it makes your life function so much smoother ! Esp with ocd / anxiety

Handy is best. Two junk drawers is fine. Even three if you need three. Whatever makes your life simpler & more efficient. Also, some people insist on calling it a utility drawer. Nothing wrong with calling it a junk drawer. 😊
We love cloth napkins! They will stain but if you wash them and then hang them in the sun while they are wet most of the stains will fade away. My boys are under 8 and didn’t realize that you could use paper towels as a napkin when we visited family. They just assumed everyone only used cloth. I like buying our everyday ones at ikea

Cloth napkins are amazing. I’ve been using them since my early 30s. I’ve never been a fan of paper products like paper plates and paper napkins for eating but especially dinner. I started with Sunday dinners. Although we now use paper plates occasionally, I still prefer cloth napkins for everyday use. I have drawers on my dining table with sets stored through-out. Less waste and less cost is a win. I’m trying to not be so reliant on paper towels overall. I’m still not there yet but we are now using less which brings my Sam’s bill way down. Team cloth napkin!!
Paper napkins like Paper plates, plastic cups and cutlery are for a casual party or barbecues. Nice to have the dinning table layed nicely for your meals. I don't have a junk draw any longer in the kitchen I had noticed above the junk draw it was turning into a catch all area.
I love all the organizational ideas. Thank you. Keep the junk drawers. My feeling on that is always have a drawer like that. Odd things can go in there until disposed of, donated, or you get a few things to put together in a new organizational place. It gives your mind a break for things you don't know where to put right away. It also gives your family a place to drop things that are odd (don't have a home yet). I put a designated white basket in my office where anyone in the family can drop off anything they don't have time to put back or don't know where to put it. That way there is zero clutter on tables and other places. I can then carry the basket around and put things away easily. I am 100% with you. I cannot tell you how much better I feel when things are decluttered, cleaned up, and organized. I truly believe in decluttering things you don't need and donating them so someone can get some use from them. I donate to charitable places so it's going to a good cause. I loved this video.

Quite some time ago, I started ordering clear organizers and use them all over my house too because you taught me how much difference it makes and how much better spaces function using them. I thank you for showing me many ways to organize and clean these past years. I have two junk drawers; both in my kitchen. They get used almost daily. I retired two years ago this month and one of my pre-retirement things was to switch to cloth napkins, Swedish dish towels instead of using as much paper towels and let my hair go grey so I didn’t have that expense. All are still working out great.
Great motivational video. Because I’m fairly lazy, all my containers need to be open on the top and I need to be able to get to something without having to move another container out of the way. I use clear plastic drawers under my kitchen and bathroom sinks. I agree that everyone needs a junk drawer, which I call a utility drawer. I have one in my kitchen and one in my laundry room. The one in the kitchen holds the things I use frequently. The one in the laundry holds batteries and things I don’t use that often. I switched to cloth napkins over 3 years ago and have no plans to go back to paper.
I'm going to start my comment with a compliment. I love the clear bins under the kitchen sink. Now for my real comment. Just once I would like to see realistic organization. We don't all live in $500k houses. Some of us live in ordinary houses under $100k. To have my closet look like a department store is unrealistic. I just want to see how I can store items without tripping over my lack of storage space.
Hi there, thanks for watching! I totally understand that alot of people have less storage space and I have been there too. Our first apartment and house were 800 sq feet and 1100 sq feet respectively with VERY little storage space. I actually used alot of the products I am showing today in this video back then in those small spaces to keep my items organized so I wasn't tripping over things or to keep it from overflowing from closets. So spaces can be different sizes, but these items can help in both scenarios. Great question, hope you have a great weekend!
I say it’s okay to have junk drawers idk why not. I have one a few of them in our house. I even have one in my bedroom that I know I have to go through one of these days and drop procrastinating this could be the motivation I need to get up and do it already lol. So nice seeing Savvy helping you organize and so cute she cheers ya on and helps ya of what outfits to save and give away. And such a sweet moment you 3 were looking at the scrapbook too. Girl, have as many junk drawers as you want! It’s very convenient to have them in the areas that you do. Also, your videos could be an hour long and I’d still press play. Sometimes I’m sad when they’re short. You’re a lot of fun to hang out with and always inspire me to get up and get cleaning and organizing. Job well done.
For your size house you can have as many junk drawers as you want ! Lol It so nice your daughter wants to help and learn. Could you some of the cords in the garage?
I have a kitchen utility ( junk) drawer, and one in my laundry room, and one in my basement bar area. It’s no different than keeping cleaning supplies in every bathroom! Put things where they are easy and handy to get to! 👍😊☺️🙌
I have a small child hammer, pliers, and a multitool screwdriver in my junk drawer and then the big stuff is in the garage. So I don’t always have to go back and forth. Also I have a small to tiny screwdriver set in the house. It’s so helpful. I even have a clear bin for each kind of battery so then especially at Christmas I just take the bin of AA and go around the house and refill.
I saw another home organization where they did that to the bags and as the event coordinator at my office, we have a lot of games with therefore the little bitty kids, the junior high high school, kids, the adult kids I took all of them out last year and put them into those bags and like you took and cut the top or just the side where the long name was at and put it in the bag along with the instructions and talk about eliminating wasted space I actually have two grocery bags is what they are that I bought from a kids school function and they had all of our games now instead of them BNN four boxes so that suggestion right there is a great idea!❤
Love watching all, totally inspiring!! I have to junk drawers that are nice and organized!!! One in my laundry room and one in the kitchen, so yeah! I think you need 2!! Cloth napkins all the way❤ love how elevated it makes the table feel, tho I wouldn't have red ones😂 I to don't like color! My house is black and white 😅
If the junk drawers have different functions, then just leave it in two drawers. Living in a home is all about comfort and purpose. If it serves, you do it, no matter what somebody thinks.
You obviously have enough to fill 2 junk drawers so leave them. They are handy where they are. Everything looks great. I just bought new bins for the top shelf of my closet & I now have room to spare. Amazing what the right bin will do.
People are so silly. You should have as many junk (aka utility) drawers as you want. We all have more miscellaneous items than we used to. When my grown kids come home for the holidays, they love getting ideas checking my drawers out.
We keep our garbage container under the kitchen sink, so that takes up a third of the space. I use the white coated wire shelves for the rest of the space underneath and only a couple small bins underneath the wire shelf.
I got into the cloth napkins last year when I got some in a subscription box... I was like what am I going to do with these but they are just great - feels like were eating at a nice restaurant and they are so much better than paper - never thought I would switch, but I just love them now. Don't like the wrinkles but now that I have the little steamer it's all good!

Such a satisfying video! If you have room for a second junk drawer and it makes sense and works for you, then why not?! and YES to cloth napkins. I have been using them for a long time. They are cute and better for the environment which I love.
I’m addicted to your channel. I click on your videos the minute the notifications come in. I have learned so much from them. I’m extremely organized but would get so frustrated cause I would organize and within a week, things would get messy again. Using organizers helps so much to keep things corralled. Thank you so much for all your great ideas. One question, what kitchen towels do you recommend? I too hate color but can’t seem to find drying towels that are neutral. The neutral ones I find don’t dry much. So always end up back to the colorful ones which although they do the work, the color overwhelmes me. Any suggestions?
I think we all have at least one junk drawer haha. I don't like to run out of things, so I have backups of cleaning supplies, batteries too (I need to get one of those battery organizers). I'm the same way with food. I wish I could have a walk in fridge and freezer with everything I need/want at my fingertips, what a dream. Thanks for sharing all your good tips Ashley!❤
Junk drawers are designed to save you time. If you are continually leaving the room to get that item, how is that saving time? You obviously need a drawer in each area. Don’t worry about what someone else thinks, it’s your space. I love what you’ve done so far - it looks great.
Girl, I have junk drawers all over my house. Not to say my house is a disaster, my kitchen is on the small side so I utilize drawers in entry tables and pieces like that. You have to have a junk drawer!! 😅 I live today’s video! I really really need to get better organized! I try, it’s just an on going process. I can’t believe how big Savy is! Hi Ashley! I knew you would have a problem with your under the sink organization and wasn't surprised that you ended up with pull out drawers. I am always into things under my kitchen sink and the pull outs work the best for sure. Nice to have Savvy as an organize buddy!!!
For your cords, I use different sizes of office binder clips… form the looped circle then clip the binder clip over one side of the looped cords. The interior space of the metal part of the clips holds the looped cord and then fold the metal parts back flat. Then you won’t have a messy cluster of cords. Hope that makes sense!!?

My mom always comes to help me declutter and organize. She's an interior designer AND has endless energy 😂. Also...protip. One thing that should NOT lay on its side is breadcrumbs. When you grab the container the top WILL pop off and you WILL be showered in breadcrumbs.
I love the length of this video it's awesome! Definitely not old getting cloth napkins I have been thinking of doing the same and I think you just get to a stage where you realise it's just nicer and a lot cheaper and better for the environment. I love that you showed how you changed the organisation under your sink, I always do this too, and then have to re do something so I really love you showed this, it makes me feel better that others have to do it too and that we (as in all of us) should remember it's a journey and a process. Since you have the space you can definitely do 2 miscellaneous drawers. I have a small drawer in my kitchen and a cabinet in my laundry room that’s in desperate need of decluttering and organizing, I just keep putting it off. One day!!!

Keep both junk drawers, you have the space and it comes in handy
The best & cheapest way to keep your sheets ,doona together is put them in 1 of te the matching pillow cases

Less waste and less cost is a win. I’m trying to not be so reliant on paper towels overall. I’m still not there yet but we are now using less which brings my Sam’s bill way down. Team cloth napkin!!
Same here - I actually also have my junk drawer in my utility room, and I keep it organized like you with bins.

Paper napkins like Paper plates, plastic cups and cutlery are for a casual party or barbecues. Nice to have the dinning table layed nicely for your meals. I don't have a junk draw any longer in the kitchen I had noticed above the junk draw it was turning into a catch all area.

I love all the organizational ideas. Thank you. Keep the junk drawers. My feeling on that is always have a drawer like that. Odd things can go in there until disposed of, donated, or you get a few things to put together in a new organizational place. It gives your mind a break for things you don't know where to put right away. It also gives your family a place to drop things that are odd (don't have a home yet). I put a designated white basket in my office where anyone in the family can drop off anything they don't have time to put back or don't know where to put it. That way there is zero clutter on tables and other places. I can then carry the basket around and put things away easily. I am 100% with you. I cannot tell you how much better I feel when things are decluttered, cleaned up, and organized. I truly believe in decluttering things you don't need and donating them so someone can get some use from them. I donate to charitable places so it's going to a good cause. I loved this video.

I retired two years ago this month and one of my pre-retirement things was to switch to cloth napkins, Swedish dish towels instead of using as much paper towels and let my hair go grey so I didn’t have that expense. All are still working out great.

Great motivational video. Because I’m fairly lazy, all my containers need to be open on the top and I need to be able to get to something without having to move another container out of the way. I use clear plastic drawers under my kitchen and bathroom sinks. I agree that everyone needs a junk drawer, which I call a utility drawer. I have one in my kitchen and one in my laundry room. The one in the kitchen holds the things I use frequently. The one in the laundry holds batteries and things I don’t use that often. I switched to cloth napkins over 3 years ago and have no plans to go back to paper.
I'm going to start my comment with a compliment. I love the clear bins under the kitchen sink. Now for my real comment. Just once I would like to see realistic organization. We don't all live in $500k houses. Some of us live in ordinary houses under $100k. To have my closet look like a department store is unrealistic. I just want to see how I can store items without tripping over my lack of storage space.
Hi there, thanks for watching! I totally understand that alot of people have less storage space and I have been there too. Our first apartment and house were 800 sq feet and 1100 sq feet respectively with VERY little storage space. I actually used alot of the products I am showing today in this video back then in those small spaces to keep my items organized so I wasn't tripping over things or to keep it from overflowing from closets. So spaces can be different sizes, but these items can help in both scenarios. Great question, hope you have a great weekend!

I say it’s okay to have junk drawers idk why not. I have one a few of them in our house. I even have one in my bedroom that I know I have to go through one of these days and drop procrastinating this could be the motivation I need to get up and do it already lol. Girl, have as many junk drawers as you want! It’s very convenient to have them in the areas that you do. Also, your videos could be an hour long and I’d still press play. Sometimes I’m sad when they’re short. You’re a lot of fun to hang out with and always inspire me to get up and get cleaning and organizing. Job well done.

I have a kitchen utility ( junk) drawer, and one in my laundry room, and one in my basement bar area. It’s no different than keeping cleaning supplies in every bathroom! Put things where they are easy and handy to get to! 👍😊☺️🙌

I have a small child hammer, pliers, and a multitool screwdriver in my junk drawer and then the big stuff is in the garage. So I don’t always have to go back and forth. Also I have a small to tiny screwdriver set in the house. It’s so helpful. I even have a clear bin for each kind of battery so then especially at Christmas I just take the bin of AA and go around the house and refill.
Closet poles pull down things are Rev-a- Shelf. Special order at Lowe's.
I saw another home organization where they did that to the bags and as the event coordinator at my office, we have a lot of games with therefore the little bitty kids, the junior high high school, kids, the adult kids I took all of them out last year and put them into those bags and like you took and cut the top or just the side where the long name was at and put it in the bag along with the instructions and talk about eliminating wasted space I actually have two grocery bags is what they are that I bought from a kids school function and they had all of our games now instead of them BNN four boxes so that suggestion right there is a great idea!❤
I just got those push back drink dispenser organizers and reorganized our fridge and it is a game changer - also the esthetic is divine! :)

If the junk drawers have different functions, then just leave it in two drawers.
Living in a home is all about comfort and purpose. If it serves, you do it, no matter what somebody thinks.
You should do what you always tell us, and that is to ‘do what works for YOU’ 😊 if two junk drawers is working for you, then two drawers is fine.
You obviously have enough to fill 2 junk drawers so leave them. They are handy where they are. Everything looks great. I just bought new bins for the top shelf of my closet & I now have room to spare. Amazing what the right bin will do.

People are so silly. You should have as many junk (aka utility) drawers as you want. We all have more miscellaneous items than we used to. When my grown kids come home for the holidays, they love getting ideas checking my drawers out.
Isn't that the point of decluttering? So you don't have a bunch of miscellaneous junk that you don't really need?
We keep our garbage container under the kitchen sink, so that takes up a third of the space. I use the white coated wire shelves for the rest of the space underneath and only a couple small bins underneath the wire shelf.
I have one of those lazy Susan clear acrylic things in my fridge and under the powder room sink as well as the kids’ bathroom. I love them.

I got into the cloth napkins last year when I got some in a subscription box... I was like what am I going to do with these but they are just great - feels like were eating at a nice restaurant and they are so much better than paper - never thought I would switch, but I just love them now. Don't like the wrinkles but now that I have the little steamer it's all good!

I’m addicted to your channel. I click on your videos the minute the notifications come in. I have learned so much from them. I’m extremely organized but would get so frustrated cause I would organize and within a week, things would get messy again. Using organizers helps so much to keep things corralled. One question, what kitchen towels do you recommend? I too hate color but can’t seem to find drying towels that are neutral. The neutral ones I find don’t dry much. So always end up back to the colorful ones which although they do the work, the color overwhelmes me. Any suggestions?
I think we all have at least one junk drawer haha. I don't like to run out of things, so I have backups of cleaning supplies, batteries too (I need to get one of those battery organizers). As for the two junk drawers: I say since you have the space - keep both and if you ever find yourself needed the space you can combine in one.
Junk drawers are designed to save you time. If you are continually leaving the room to get that item, how is that saving time? You obviously need a drawer in each area. Don’t worry about what someone else thinks, it’s your space. I love what you’ve done so far - it looks great.

Hi Ashley! I knew you would have a problem with your under the sink organization and wasn't surprised that you ended up with pull out drawers. I am always into things under my kitchen sink and the pull outs work the best for sure. Nice to have Savvy as an organize buddy!!!
For your cords, I use different sizes of office binder clips… form the looped circle then clip the binder clip over one side of the looped cords. The interior space of the metal part of the clips holds the looped cord and then fold the metal parts back flat. Then you won’t have a messy cluster of cords. Hope that makes sense!!?

I love the length of this video it's awesome! Definitely not old getting cloth napkins I have been thinking of doing the same and I think you just get to a stage where you realise it's just nicer and a lot cheaper and better for the environment. I love that you showed how you changed the organisation under your sink, I always do this too, and then have to re do something so I really love you showed this, it makes me feel better that others have to do it too and that we (as in all of us) should remember it's a journey and a process. 2 junk drawers are good. Kitchen drawer houses stuff used while in kitchen and the utility holds overstock and all the other stuff.
Since you have the space you can definitely do 2 miscellaneous drawers. I have a small drawer in my kitchen and a cabinet in my laundry room that’s in desperate need of decluttering and organizing, I just keep putting it off. One day!!!
