BTW yes I did say a Hamilton by Hilton at the start by mistake! 🤪
Hopefully Sir Lewis Hamilton gets involved and they can have a whole new range by Hilton with F1 or Mercedes theme 🤣
130 a night with a sea view and breakfast tim
Not to mention dolly instead of doily (i'm blaming the sea air)
🤣🤣🤣🤣 didn't overly notice 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Another small mistake: at 8 minutes 29 seconds it says the breakfast was at 8:30PM, that's a bit late ;)
I was going to stay here but IMMEDIATELY cancelled my reservation when Tim dropped the bombshell that the toilet paper isn’t folded to a point! What kind of prison are these people running anyway?
lol
🤣🤣🤣👍🏼
A what?? Hamilton by Hilton? 😂
We stayed in this hotel a few weeks back and liked it too.
Hamptons are classed as 3 star and are basically Hiltons version of Premier Inns. They are supposed to be a step down from actual Hiltons but in many cases the standards are much better. I love staying in them!
Next I'd love to see you review some YHA's. People have such misconceptions about them but we've stayed at some gorgeous places. Basic, but private en suite rooms and stuff for kiddos. Our favourites have been the YHA next to Whitby Abbey and Ilam Hall near Alton Towers in the Peak District.
Nice to see face down cups in this one! The better hotels will pretty much always do it.
Worked many years in hotels and been a GM, then a PA to the Managing director and I really appreciate all the small touches.
A good housekeeping team is really what keeps a hotel going.
From previous over night stays as a kid I always remembered Blackpool accommodation being a mixture of 80s carpets, depressing mix of wall papers and net curtains. But the Hampton from Hilton offers a new fresh modern experience in staying in Blackpool. It would be good to see if other Hampton by Hilton hotels offer the same high standards, especially in the big cities such as London. Yet another really helpful and insightful review 👏
I'd say most accommodation providers in Blackpool are still a mixture of 80's carpet, depressing mix of wall paper and net curtains.,
Having stayed in a few Hamptons including this one, Their generally the same across the brand.
5:23 a room is dated by it's plug sockets. The less there are the older it is, and of course the less around the bed dates it too. You can tell this room is quite new because not only are there plenty of sockets, but there's a small pass through to below the table to hide the charging cord if you so wish
Great little touch from the Hamilton
I go to Blackpool alot. Not many especially who aren't from Blackpool will know but it's a fairly newly built hotel. It was only opened in the last 4 or 5 years and was then extended which you can see by the change in colour to the brickwork on the outside which is why everything looks shiny and new inside.
Hampton by Hilton rates always include breakfast. With that in mind, I once booked the Hampton in Glasgow. That night I was attending a travel industry function (at the Doubletree by Hilton!) and the Hampton was a short stagger away. Unfortunately I extracted myself from bed the next morning just in time to get to the breakfast buffet before it closed. Note to self: never expect a great selection, or in fact a high quality of food, just as they are closing the restaurant. Fabulous hotels though.
Love your videos, I find them very relaxing. Keep up the good work! 👍🏻
Like Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn is usually a safe bet in the States.
Stayed in York Hampton and found it really good, I love how you can check in on the app and pick your room so I picked top floor corner room which gave you and extra window and a decent view over the city! Decent breakfast too!
By far one of the better hotels you've stayed in in the UK. The attention to detail, depicted by the local scenes not only around the hotel but by each door speaks volumes. My only immediate concern was, with the sun streaming it, it could be very hot in there during that summer day we have during August. But I then saw that it does have an aircon grill near the door, so... As for seeing the beds from outside, very poor. Makes it look like a cheap hostel.
Glad you tried it Tim 😊 the breakfasts are so nice 😋
Anther great review Tim. Enjoyed your recent Sunborn stay in Gibraltar video !. Nice to see Gaby and Casper.
Shame it doesn't have more seaside or Blackpool decoration or themes but looked like a very clean crisp hotel, outside looks like flats you would find on the train into London. I think it cost £97 per night if it was a weekday. Thanks for sharing as always!
very very close :-)
£96 or £98 lol.
This looked pretty good to me Tim, if you looked underneath the kettle base you probably would have found the wire was coiled up so you could have just unwound it and plugged it in! Yet again though a hotel charging you to park on their property even though you are a customer, I just don't get it so I would never stay there.
Premier Inn do that on a lot of their sites down south. Yeah I always look for an alternative 👍
Stayed in the Glasgow Hampton and it was class.
Comfy bed, nice clean room and reasonably priced
Blinded by the light… ha ha… I was just about to break out with a guitar solo!
Hi Tim, great vid as usual!
Love Hampton by Hilton although the service and standards do vary from hotel to hotel!
I’m guessing £79.00 for a midweek stay!👍😊👏👏❤️
I like these hotels, and used to use the one at Liverpool Airport lot, and greatly appreciated the included breakfast. Living in Panama now, we have stayed at a Hampton by Hilton in the town of David. It was just like one in the UK, but their version of the cooked breakfast just didn't match that in the UK. I always applied the "sausage test" to hotel breakfasts, but you can't get "proper" sausages here - just chorizo...
I stayed at a Hampton by Hilton quite a few years ago in Birmingham, it was absolutely spotless! even the carpets felt almost new. It must have been refurbished not long before but it was as lovely, the tv was the same size as the one at home. It’s the only kind of chain hotel I’ve been in and it was a pleasant surprise of how nice it was.
Looks like a nice hotel especially on the inside. I would love that room. The free complimentary breakfast looked good especially make your own waffles!
Stayed there ourselves! Absolutely loved it. Food was ace. Service superb. Clean. Tidy. Quiet. Great value! What's not to love?!
Altho the bed on that thin bit of wood was noisy
Thank you tim for another great video looks amazing beautiful always look forward to your videos love from Dublin🇮🇪❤
I love Blackpool and on our last visit we stayed just down from there, front free parking was great.
I have not been to Blackpool yet myself, I grew up going to Great Yarmouth but Blackpool definitely needs to be on the list and perhaps this just may be where we choose to stay! Thanks for the great vid Tim.
you should you would love it!
I just stayed in an Hampton by Hilton in Nashville, TN. It was excellent! Clean, well lit, spacious, good free breakfast and great hospitality. I will for sure stay there if I go back.
Are they same as England?
Oh Tim, did you have to move the kettle 6 inches to plug it in 😢...I don't know how you cope Tim 😉
lol I know its just not on!
@@WalkWithMeTim 😂...👍
Thanks for doing this one. I'm booked in there in September for a few nights. Now I know what to expect. You have reviewed many Britannia hotels, you may want to check out the one in Glasgow. I'm pretty sure it was previously a Premier Inn.
I would stay here in a heartbeat, compared to that overpriced Instagram hotel in London.
Great video as always 💯🤘
I liked the hotel and prefer the neutral colours as it makes it look clean and fresh.
I can honestly say I bloody love this hotel! The place is beautifully decorated, the rooms are comfy, clean and massive. I love the breakfast, the food is fabulous in the restaurant. The staff know me now 🤣
Apart from the bed on that thin wood
My brother stayed there last week. He loved it
I LOVE the body lotion in the bathroom. Leaves your skin feeling amazing. Love Hampton by Hilton hotels. And the breakfast!
I didn't try that lol
It looks very fresh and clean.
I’ve stayed at that hotel several times since it opened. I like that fact that it’s away from the centre of Blackpool, but there’s a tram stop nearby. I also use one of the other Hilton types, Doubletree by Hilton. I’ve never had a problem with any of them, and would recommend them.
Great video Tim, I'm actually booked in for two nights at this hotel this weekend so it's been a very helpful video overall.
Your welcome
I stay at a hampton by hilton at Bournemouth just up from the hilton on cardiac hill... Its lovely.
I recently stayed at a Hampton in Portland Oregon near the airport (I am American) on a weekend business trip & the room was as high quality as this one, though the bathrooms were way bigger. Based on this video, it seems to me that there is no difference in terms of quality (which is a good thing) between the US & UK versions of Hampton. The only bad thing about the room I stayed in is that very similar to Tim, the TV remote would not work at all even when the batteries were changed. Luckily the Hampton in Portland recently upgraded the TV's in all of the rooms to smart TV's which can be controlled by an in-room Ipad (which also controls the in room temperature control system & the lights) or by the Hilton Honors app on your phone if the remote isn't working. This is a growing trend in most Hilton branded hotels (at least in the US).
Hi Tim. This looked a nice hotel. We have stayed at the Hampton by Hilton at the Docklands in London and it was a really nice hotel. Debbie & Patrick
Hi Tim. Yes the hotel doesn't look great from the outside, but once your in it pretty decent. Very clean and comfortable. Breakfast area looks well done too. Price you paid was probably cheaper than we all think as the location isn't good. 95 pounds I'm thinking.
Hi Tim, thanks to your video we have booked the Hampton by Hilton hotel at Blackpool and it’s great! Just arrived and it’s exactly like you said, gonna go to Yorkshire fisheries for tea as well. Keep up the good work lad 👍
Hello Tim,this looks amazing to stay, everything is clean, and when the sun is out I like how it shines in the room.breakfast is nice,i say £175 for the night.
Polishing of bathroom knobs and shower switched is really good n shiny
I'm planning a weekend in blackpool for August and i looked at this hotel and even though I'm on a budget and i haven't quite made my mind up yet and short of booking a travel lodge I'm quite impressed 😊
Looked nice to me Tim. I couldn’t say the price but I would stay there. Hope you enjoyed your stay. ☀️
Yes I see two more Blackpool hotels have been demolished, The New Hacketts and St Chads. Nice hotel review Tim looks a nice place especially with those sea views. Room looked clean and sparkling along with the bathroom. Good price that includes breakfast. Love the idea of making your own waffles. Yes I would certainly stay here.
lol it took be about 15 mins to work out I had to rotate the waffle maker
Mr Tim, try a Premier + Balcony room in Bournemouth Central, the building is a very grand 1930's art Deco hotel that has been converted into a Premier Inn, and is opposite The Royal Bath Hotel that you stayed in a while back.
yes I know I have stayed there!
Great video as always Tim, and really liked those full-length windows. Worth it for the view alone. As for the price, I'm reckoning on £70, but think you're going to surprise us - though frustrated having to wait to find out!! :-D ;)
lol
Het Tim , How about staying at one of the newer Village hotels , I'm sure you'll be impressed with the switchable frosted glass panels that separate the bedroom from the bathroom 😀
Hi, if you haven't already done so, I recommend you visit the Efteling theme park in the Netherlands. They have a nice hotel with themed rooms and a "sort of" holiday village you can stay in.
Tim, Not sure if you've covered this yet but either:
Ibis Hotel - Birmingham International (Not been to yet but will in september)
Premier Inn - Birmingham NEC (Standard) - i was there for insonmia gaming festival I70 in april and other than the USB port on bedside wasn't great it got fixed and the tv not great for PC Connection and no smart feature. it was alright.
I stayed in a Hampton by Hilton in Blackburn and it was even nicer than this one looked. Not monotone, quite chic almost in some parts. I'd recommend checking that one out.
Was talking to a b&b owner apparently south and central blackpool have been awarded, awards for being the cleanest and best areas of blackpool
I've just come back from staying in the double tree by hilton by dartford bridge. It was great (pool and amenities could have some money thrown at it) but I slept well every night, the food was grand and our room had at least 9 plug sockets!! Not to mention the staff were incredible. I reccomend
Woodhouse farm Hotel in spalding. It has a small swimming pool. The kings deluxe room is very nice. We payed 115.00 per night not included breakfast. But breakfast is £9.95 each. Food is very good.
It was a very good blog today of you chilling out and staying in Hampton hotel Hilton tim
Hi Tim, I’m glad you stayed at a Hampton! I’d guess you paid around £97.00. They’re usually very consistent across their properties and I’ve come to appreciate that. I live in the US but travel to the UK frequently and I always look forward to the Hampton version of the full English breakfast. BTW You’ve got me wanting to go to Gibraltar now!
you should .. you will want to go back again and again
Damn Jason. Why wasn't I invited? 😂😂😂
They are only 2 Hampton Hotel near me Ashford and Canterbury. Have never stayed at a Hampton Hotel, they look quite cool.
I have only just come back from a 3 night stay at a Hampton By Hilton in Bournemouth and thought the hotel was lovely, clean and modern. The only fault I found was at breakfast they didn’t do mushrooms or fried eggs, but there was a lot of food to choose from. I would most definitely stay there again. For 3 nights, 2 adults ours cost £325 roughly, can’t remember the exact amount. But staying there at the beginning of July it would shoot up to £700 for the 3 nights and 2 adults 😮 I checked while I was staying there.
thanks tim have a nice weekend x
and you
A modern clean room. Clean being the operative word. Is good to know. If I need one in Blackpool. I will be going there.
Ive always had a good stay at the Hampton Inns here in America. Happy to see they are a good place in the UK too.
your the man wicked vid you have a cool family your blessed always watch keep them coming
Thanks
"I love the localness with the photos of Blackpool...the bums there of the donkeys." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
TIM: "Hamilton by Hilton"
ME: "Oh boy ! He's finally going to do that musical episode of 'Walk With Me Tim' that I've always dreamt about!" 😍
Great mini review tim
Just had a peek at the price for a 1 night stay at this Hotel on Google. Price that came up stated £68.00 for Thursday 18 May, £95.00 for Friday 19 May and £137.00 for Saturday 20 May. Price obviously going up after Thursday and into the weekend but comes back down to £68.00 on Sunday. They seem to have a different price range for each day.
Living in the US is such a rip-off. That room in my US city (not at the beach) on a weekday would be $200/night with tax added on a weeknight (£160). A weekend night would be $230/night (£185).
Oceanfront with a view add at least $50/night (£40).
Pay anything under that and risk sleeping with roaches and/or the sound of gunshots in the middle of the night.
Yes I stayed midweek
I worked in Birmingham a few years ago and stayed at a Hampton by Hilton hotel in the Jewellery Quarter. It was clean, comfortable and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good. Not a lot of character to it but pleasant place to stay.
Nice one, Tim 👌
Hi there, another great video like always. Very interesting to watch. I was going to stay here this year. Are usually stay at Big Blue or Boulevard. I haven’t stayed at Boulevard since before Covid. It was a good place to stay but I think I will stay with either Big Blue or Boulevard Keep up the good video. Can’t wait to see the next one and I hope you’re well
Thank hotel is coming sunday
Looks nice and tidy, but the location isn't ideal (unless you're going to the pleasure beach). I'm there next week in the "new" Premierinn. I'll be checking the Kettle 😉
We have Hamptons in the States, too- they’re generally quite nice, but usually a bit pricey 🤔👍
are they any good like these?
Hi Tim, I recently stopped in the Hilton at the NEC in Birmingham. They charge £14 for parking Having said that. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. Obviously geared up for professionals, rather than a resort family hotel. Also had a great buffet breakfast. I’m guessing £115 a night, with the complimentary breakfast.
So disappointed whe hotels charge for parking
@@WalkWithMeTim Yes I totally agree. It is a bit of a rip-off, considering what you pay for the room.
Nice place to stay. This hotel looks more like a regular Hilton hotel (than the Hilton Bournemouth) -- at least based on the few Hilton hotels that I've stayed in. Thanks for the video!
Looks worth a visit 😊
Great video, love to see u stay at Richardson's hemsby ,know you have walked through it but don't think you have stayed there ,we love it there ,stay every year.
I follow many of the RUclipsrs from Blackpool, can’t say I’ve seen them show this hotel, but it looks good
I find a lot of Hiltons in the UK trade on the name, with some being way overpriced for what you get. Plus sometimes you can think you're getting the better Hilton (a Double Tree over a Garden Inn for example) but it turns out not to be. Overseas however I've stayed in some amazing ones (Turin still my favourite if you're ever over there). I also find that all Hiltons charge a large amount for parking and often it's off-site, hence why sometimes in a city, I'll happily jump into a Premier Inn. That said, that does look like a nicer Hampton, but when in Blackpool give me an old fashioned small B&B any day for that authentic feel.
Speaking of Japan, I think a capsule hotel is one you ought to try next!
Love the video. Now you've tried a Hilton, can I suggest the Milton in Eccles. Interesting hotel and incredibly cheap.
I drove past this the other week and as approaching said to my wife, look at that Carbuncle. Then was surprised to see it was a Hampton Inn.
First stayed in a Hampton Inn, in about 94- 95 in Orlando.
Last one I stayed in was 5 years ago in Hershey Pennsylvania. You had the app to open the door even then and you could also pick your room which was good.
I’d guess £120.
That looks like a nice hotel. Our only experience of this hotel was Gatwick Airport. We stayed there twice with no problems. The hotel is right in the airport which was handy. My husband is a wheelchair user so I dropped him and the luggage off outside and then went off to our parking company a few miles away and came back via their shuttlebus. On the third occasion last year, after driving round the airport in a circle several times and having to pay for the car park, we found that they had actually blocked off the entrance to the hotel and I had to drive to the top floor of the short stay car park where someone from the hotel met us and took our luggage and my husband went with him. In the meantime in order to get out I had to pay for yet another car park. The room was fine. The dinner provision in the hotel was basic to say the least so we had to go into the airport. As we had a fairly early flight we had to use the self-service breakfast area. It was OK for me but my husband has food allergies and there was no gluten or dairy free provision for him whatsoever. He had to settle for a bag of crisps on the plane and had nothing to eat until the afternoon. It wasn't cheap either.
Yes I can't imagine dinner being that great
Hi Tim, that looked quite nice and a free breakfast as well, sorted lol....I am having a guess you paid around £125.00 probably way out as my guessing aint great lol , thanks as always x
I stayed in one in Liverpool back in August 2023 It was great and the breakfast was good 👍
I stayed in the Hampton Hilton at Stansted airport last night and also 12 days ago and the rooms are pretty much identical to yours there. The bed was rock solid, almost no give to it. I slept well because I was shattered from travelling but woke up with really bad neck and back pain and a banging headache. Also, the app didn't work for us either to obtain the digital key. Frustrating, because that was a big selling point for me due to being chronically ill and hoping to go straight up to my room after such a long journey. Spent an obscene amount of time messaging them on Twitter and also through the app to try and get it sorted prior to my arrival but they were no use at all. I thought of you when I lied on the bed (please don't send Gaby after me! lol) and my head sunk in to the ridiculously soft pillows. They looked massive but my head just sunk straight in and you feel like you're being suffocated by them! I wonder if yours were the same.
Wow... That certainly looks like a fantastic hotel Tim! I'm guessing Hilton built the hotel on the south promanade due to the Pleasure Beach, Sandcastle and Blackpool Airport being around there? But it's a bit strange as most of Blackpools regeneration is happening futher north. Who knows.. The hotel might spark a regeneration of South Promanade too!
Blackpool Airport is closed
Have stayed at a few Hampton Inns in the US,they are usually pretty clean and comfortable. Stayed at one in Florida right after Spring break and it was immaculate but the fairly large closet smelled like pee! I thought someone had had their dog in there but the manager said, no, not a dog, just Spring break!
No idea at the cost but the make your own waffles is a feature I greatly miss from one of my regular places purchased by the BC Government in 🇨🇦 for a mental heath/ addiction crisis residence. Their need is greater than mine.
looks a nice hotel and good for us to see how others compare with premier inn which is our preference if we stay anywhere for a night which isnt very often. We are staying at novotel at birmingham airport soon for first time chosen as terminal departures is just across the road
I reckon £95 a night for the Seaview room. I thought the hotel colouring was spot on. Definitely would stay there 👍🏻
i go to wales in two weeks and will be staying at the premier in barry island to do the gavin and stacey tour the day after it’s going to be fantastic
I’ll be staying at the Hampton by Hilton in Newcastle pretty soon. Hopefully it’ll be just as nice and comfy.
The exterior doesn’t do this hotel justice! Maybe not super fancy, but lovely none the less! I’d be happy to stay there!
Tempted to go to Blackpool just to sit and watch the sun set. 🕶
£110 for the night with breakfast. Another good video Tim, love your honesty.
While they can sometimes be a bit pricey, I've never seen a Hampton Inn I didn't like. They're invariably better than Hilton's flagship brand. Their housekeeping is always good, leaving the rooms immaculate. The breakfast is always good as well. Some locations are very bland purpose-built buildings like yours, but they also will convert historic properties such as old banks or warehouses.
Thank you for the review! Found your channel and I love when you stay at the "unusual" places. Loved the helicopter camping one you did. Just as information, here in the USA and NE (Washington, DC area) the average price for a Hampton By Hilton is around $215 (dollars) or &174 (pounds). Yes, had to look up the conversion. Not sure what being a seaside would do to the price... again, over here it would jack the price up. Looking at the other comments I don't *think* it was even as high as 174, so.... who knows? Cheaper than over here I'd wager!
thanks Steve! welcome along .. what's the hotel like compared to over there
@@WalkWithMeTim thanks! Pretty similar. I call the color "hotel beige" as just about every hotel uses it, or a similar "hotel light grey/blue". Never seen the safe inside a drawer like that, pretty clever actually. And over here, I've never seen electric kettles (which seem common in UK hotels), we get coffee makers, when it's there at all. Few minor changes, but I can see a room like that over here quite easily.
The room in Blackpool is almost identical the the Hampton I stayed in last night at Stansted. Nice. Decent brekkie. £119 for one night with runway views.
