I learned both pretty easy
hitting five buttons and definitely harder than 24+ frets and 6 strings and picking
I'm sure it's fun. But I'd prefer the *Real thing.*

See, what's messing him up is having to play fewer notes in a lower difficulty. You can hear him trying to play the whole verse riff and he's strumming in time (it's his own song after all), but on Easy the notes aren't there. I bet once he got used to it he could easily be a total badass at it and FC anything on Expert.
Maybe. But maybe not. I was playing Guitar hero like 5 or 6 years ago but then I started playing an actual guitar. And I've recently started playing it again because my little brother wanted me to play it with him and where did I screw up? I kept jumping the frets as if I played a real guitar.

Doesn't Rockstar let you use a real instrument? The issue with rockstar is that the tabs they use tend to be wrong in places, I've seen tabs on Songster that were sourced from Rockstar that were off, like Back Sabbath Children of the Sea.

I like how you can tell he's an actual player by the way he positions his fingers haha.
I thought everyone knew that people who actually play guitar can rarely play Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero is a video game with a guitar shaped controller that you press buttons on, just like the regular controllers with buttons. Being able to play Guitar Hero does not equate to being a guitarist, but a video game player. They are both fun, but you can't really compare them. He actually did quite well with it, considering he was in the middle of an interview. He can really multitask. Dave's the man.
I dont understand why people are so negative about guitar hero? It brings rock and metal back to the mainstream, what is wrong with that? More people who listen to rock and metal = win?
Because people got burnt out playing it. Time to play Heroine Hero!

I understand french, and I frankly have to say he has the best accent I've ever seen from a french dude. Believe it or not.
Also, I had no idea a mistake in french was called a "duck".
Both Dave and Kirk have inspired millions of guitarists to play, they each have a unique style and I appreciate them both and i see no point in argueing who's the better one or if Megadeth or Metallica is the better band or vice versa. They're both great.

im a metallica fan, but i still think that megadeth has some pretty kick ass songs. i bought GH metallica, and if they made GH megadeth i would definately buy it. they are both great bands and each have their pros and cons. its a matter of taste of music.

***** I wouldn't call it easier on real guitar, not by a long shot. It is definitely harder. What makes this seem harder is fighting muscle memory when going from real guitar back to guitar hero/rock band. Before I played instruments I found most songs doable in those games on expert (that's the highest difficulty right?) but now that I play the real instruments I find even medium can be a challenge sometimes.
***** theres no bends or pulloffs in gh, not to mention 2 handed tappings.
The real guitar has 144 buttons with 6 strum bars....
And that's just to produce notes , lots of other things to do in order to play the instrument.

it's great to see him take it with such humor, I usually get pissed when I'm playing this game
same. that's why in a way it's actually easier on the hardest setting because it usually has all the notes in the right timing.

man i would give anything to have a round of guitar hero with dave mustaine that would be sweet.
man i use to be so good at guitar hero. but then i started paying more attention to guitar, now i can the songs on a actual guitar but can barely play them on medium now, haha
I think Easy is kinda hard, because there are more notes in the song than on the track, but on expert there are as many notes on screen as there are in the song.
in my opinion, metallica produced four solid and essential thrash albums, which obviously were the first four. after that it went downhill, the black album had some decent material but they should have stuck to what they were best at. props to dave for keeping thrash alive and he has also produced some of the most essential albums of the genre. but when it comes down to it, they were both great bands.

Hangar 18 made wanna listen to Megadeth. So cool to see a great guitarist having problem with this game. The game is as hard for guitar players as for regular people. Rock on Dave..go and make those clams on GH2!!
yeah thats same with me i play death metal. i just do power chords and a lot of muting. for bass i prefer the top 2 string for deep sounds but when i do chords on bass i use the bottom 3 string. but i play 5 string. i do 3 string power chords also. it just sounds better
