  • I doubt many of you knew about this trick! Here is how I clean my crappie fish fillets! Simply soaking crappie fillets in water can drastically lower the amount of blood in them, making them taste absolutely phenomenal! Leave me a comment down below and subscribe if you're new!

    Try mixing in some salt with your water. It will help pull the red out as well. I soak my fillets in saltwater after filleting them and I can tell a huge difference.

    We cut the gill plates on our Walleye before throwing them in the livewell. The fish will slowly pump all of the blood out resulting in clean blood free fillets.

    Wow your views are so high on this video already. Congrats. I was taught to put my filets in ice water after cleaning. I don't know if it helps any better as I've never tried it any other way. I'll have to try your over night method.

      Thank you! Some people have suggested saltwater, buttermilk, and even sprite! I’m going to have to try those and see which works better.

    Salt the water first

    You can do the same by freezing them in water. I personally recommend doing that and get as much of the air out and fish can last longer in the freezer.

      drag on after we clean them we freeze them in quart bags of water 👍🏻
