I dislike how everyone saying this game is easy. It honestly really isn't. I don't know what other people are playing but this game can be balls to the wall, nail bitingly hard.
Dante & Holly True, and i'm not gonna lie I made 3 playthroughs already just to get the hang of and use to all the game mechanics. 1st one was crap, getting hang of and use to the controls, 2nd was slightly better then the first but still it felt like garbage. But the 3rd playthrough pheww I don't know about you but i'm feeling really good on this. Your tips and tricks helped a ton man thanks! Especially with the one about holding L2 to block and my being able to dodge at the same time. Seriously would never have figured that out. You're the man! Hahahah
quick tip for people: you can get the 70 saddle bag for free by doing the second horse race in crows perch also! and it’s really easy! 3rd race will also give u a free set of horse blinders and 1st race gives you 40 stamina for your horse instead of 20... so do all 3 of the races, make sure to whip the new gear after each race and it’s super easy
Thanks, I'm starting a second playthrough on new game+ mode with deathmarch difficulty. My first playthrough was on B&BB difficulty and there were some hard learned lessons for sure: 1) Keep an eye on ingredients taken from dead monsters, some are common, others rare. Don't store much of these unless they're rare or expensive or necessary for a build. Don't sell anything meteorite related, that shit is necessary for high value gear and rare! Also the blacksmith can break down monster ingredients, so definitely utilize that (very important). 2) Quen is extremely powerful and necessary on harder difficulty. Don't neglect it. 3) Dodge monster attacks, trying to parry them will usually hurt you badly. This is especially true for more powerful monsters, they just hit too hard. 4) You can travel back to any area. Don't get stuck trying to get every question mark in velen for example, you can come back for them. 5) Pick a fighting style and buy abilities accordingly. Specialize in what you like, don't just evenly distribute them on everything. 6) Fashion is just as important as stats. There are so many cutscenes you're not going to want Geralt looking like a moron all the time. Find the Witcher gear blueprints and pick a school. I like Bear.
*Additional Tips & Information* - Don't drop/gather your items in big cities, they dissapear for unknown reason. Maybe they get stolen :O. FINALLY, I understand what that white bar is doing. I'm almost at level 8 and I thought it was the stamina bar. I tried looking through in game tutorials and didn't see the description anywhere. I kept trying to 'build it up' with different things and didn't know why it would suddenly go down to nothing. Lol! Thank you SO much!
This is so helpful, THANK YOU!! Best beginner guide I have seen here I've been getting killed so much and now I realize things that I've been doing wrong keep. Honestly thank you so much I really appreciate it.
I was replaying the game on hardest difficulty, trying to complete every question mark in White Orchard at level 1 yesterday (because Im stubborn af and Dark Souls imbedded me with dumb fortitude). It was far more intense then the usual 20 minutes or so I usually spend there before moving on, and I kept forgetting to save, but it made the game wayyy more satisfying in my opinion.
Dante, that is a neat way of dealing with inventory space, but you can also do the same thing with your stash, which can be accessed from every single region.
Sorry for spamming comments, but there's so much good info to share! A great tip for using meditation: if you press L1 and open the menu for equipping signs, you can press square to instantly enter the meditation screen instead of having to go into the main menu. After meditating press the touchpad to go back to gameplay right away so you don't have to close menu screens. L1 + Square + meditate + touchpad :D
Just a small tip (most people know this but I just got to a good point ) is that if you are low on money in the early games, do the fist fights and bet all you can most of the time there is a Invisible wall around the area and use quick attacks to get your oppnent into a corner and then spam your heavy attacks thats how at level 7 I got around some quick easy 350 gold by beating level 11s and twelves and I think the last challenger was level 13.. and also if you find your horse running out of stamina quickly or hard to escape on because it gets scared or you run out of carry weight just do the horse race at the First town you go to.. just save before you enter, bet all out do the race and win about 300 coin and get a Racing saddle which is about 50 stamina I think, a Carry bag which increases your carry rating by (I think) 30 pounds and horse eye blockers that allows you to run away to fight another day if a monster is chasing you

I was playing this game for 2 days now and I felt overwhelmed with all the material in the game. I've never really played role playing games like this soo this was a huge amount of help for me sir thank you and sorry for the bad English in this comment
What about the counter attacks? i wanted to know if is possible to counter attack all monsters, because sometimes it feels like Gerald doesn't even try. And finishers, i have finishers on manual, and i don't really know if each enemy has a different way to start a finisher.
Didn't know you could hold parry and save yourself from a bad dodge.. Humans are generally very easy, but that's a good tip against many enemies. Thanks so much!
Great vid great content great commentary Loved how you broke down every situation. And gave a real tutorial ....Great video my dude ...no trollling over here
Super helpful man! Just started the game, and watched more than a few of these... This vid. is by far the most informative, you covered a lot of little things others glossed over. Thanks!
FYI: At 6:20 that icon of the House with 2 swords.. Notice it's bright white.. this is because you haven't cleared all the monsters in the area. You will need to kill them in the day and night as different monsters spawn.. I'm just letting you know since you mentioned you cleared all the places of interest and I dont' know if you where aware to clear this part you need to visit it at different times. As you know once you complete it.. it will gray out. Thanks for the tips thought I'd return the favor.
This is immensely helpful. I'm pretty hopeless and confused when it comes to RPG games, and your info is exactly what I needed. Truthfully, I am usually bored by RPGs, but this one seems very, very good. Thanks!
semple3 You're welcome! Thank you very much, i'm glad it helped out :). The Witcher 3 has an awesome story and all the side quests are really fun, that's to me atleast rare in RPG's that even the side quests are a bunch of fun with little stories.
regarding the bandit archers; there's a combat ability that let's you deflect bolts and arrows. Just equip it and hold L2 whenever there are archers, like the block, it never fails as long as you hold the button.
Rufuz Mitchell Absolutely, i just didn't adress it because even with that perk imo. you should still take them out first ^-^. While you are swinging they can still shoot you for example.
cloudbloom Crafting is fun, but not really needed for me atleast. I always find awesome Armor that are most of the time better, as what i can craft. But if loot like crazy, you also should have enough mats to craft what you want. I always craft the Witcher Gear :3
Dante & Holly the best things to craft are the witcher gear for sure, I've found the griffin set, serpentine, cat set, and a few others. Crafting basic materials like iron ingots is unnecessary but crafting swords and armor will give you much better gear than what you find or buy. Alchemy on the other hand is really cool, I've got about 12 decoctions already and 6 oils, plus the bombs and potions give you so many different ways to play. This game is so good!
cloudbloom I think loot is random, atleast i had 1 or 2 situations where the same chest gave me something else than before. Maybe i just get lucky, until now everything i can craft is not better as what i found :C.
Dante & Holly the devs said that all loot is random except for the crafting diagrams and recipes for potions/oils/bombs. For example, if you go to a ruin and find a diagram for the griffin sword it will always be in that chest.
Bud, wanna conversation? I'm about to pick it up again... Bought at the same time as you, taken three four hour stabs at it and had to put it down each time. The 'equiping skill' thing is what fk's me. I cant work it out, even with these tut's. Reply. Thx.
I never knew about dropping loot and it would stay there forever. This will help me save so much space. I always thought items would disappear after you left the area, well thats how it is in some other games.
just bought the game over the winter steam sale. I've found that there are marked places on the map called "storage" in most major town centres including the first inn you go to where you can store items and the description says all the stored items can be accessed by using any other "storage" locations in the world. Did they add this feature in an update?
Adrenaline points are awesome, by far the best use of them in the early game is one of the yellow abilities that let's you use an adrenaline point to cast a sign if you are out of stamina. That way you can technically cast 4 signs in a row of you have 3 adrenaline points. It works great on big enemies weak to igni like werewolves
Coming back to this game after not playing for a year or more... and I was like "How do I play this game again...?". This video was really helpful, cheers!
loved the video a lot, very helpful! Quick tip about English (if you care) when comparing two or more things that have DIFFERENT values (more/less) you would use 'than' (more gold than silver) when comparing things of the SAME value, you would use 'as' (it is as blue as the sky). Take it or leave it, I still loved the video regardless:)
Hey Dante, tks a lot for the tutorial, it was the only one that I found speaking about how to use the alcohest... it was driving me crazy to find it out... great job, I have played for around 20+ hours and had found out about it or the tip for defending as you perform other options....
ps regarding the sword use that auto picks ye that only happens if you have the manual sheathing off!, if u have it on it doesnt get the right sword out etc by default its d-pad left for steel n right for silver i think might be wrong hehe
The most terrifying aspect of death in this game are those damned loading screens.
Mikeal sklovenski Yeah, they are quite long ^-^
Mikeal sklovenski put the game in an ssd lol...
Mikeal sklovenski I have it on PC and it takes around 7-8 seconds to load.

I was playing this game for 2 days now and I felt overwhelmed with all the material in the game. I've never really played role playing games like this soo this was a huge amount of help for me sir thank you and sorry for the bad English in this comment
bigbosssnake21 Your english is great! :). Thank you very much, i'm glad it was useful to you C:
What about the counter attacks? i wanted to know if is possible to counter attack all monsters, because sometimes it feels like Gerald doesn't even try.
And finishers, i have finishers on manual, and i don't really know if each enemy has a different way to start a finisher.
I don't think so. Every time I try to counter attack monsters I get a claw in the face.
Despite this video length,it's worth it
Thanks for this, really helped my combat. I was getting my ass kicked by lvl 2 dogs :(
Now I'm hunting like a pro!
You got a new sub! :)
CD Baksu That's great to hear! :) Welcome aboard c:
Didn't know you could hold parry and save yourself from a bad dodge.. Humans are generally very easy, but that's a good tip against many enemies.
Thanks so much!
I spent all my coin on gwent cards :/
+itube141 I spent a lot of coin on them too :'D
Got to feed that Gwent habit.
What a legend
Just started playing this....again...after not playing for about 2 yrs...thx for this video...you have another subscriber..👍👏👏
This helped me so much! Thank you Dante ^-^
ChiikaGaming Simone You're very welcome! Glad it helped :3
Great vid great content great commentary Loved how you broke down every situation. And gave a real tutorial ....Great video my dude ...no trollling over here
Amazing guide,
thank you for the effort, it really helped me out.
You rock!
Super helpful man! Just started the game, and watched more than a few of these... This vid. is by far the most informative, you covered a lot of little things others glossed over. Thanks!
Very helpful video.Thanks for uploading!
I'm glad the video was useful to you :)
Another tip : While on the horse you can slow down time by holding the attack button to time your strike
perfect, great video
this game can be really complected sometimes
***** Thank you very much! Glad you liked the video C:
Extremely helpful, excellent excellent stuff.
Lucky Plays Thank you very much C:
FYI: At 6:20 that icon of the House with 2 swords.. Notice it's bright white.. this is because you haven't cleared all the monsters in the area. You will need to kill them in the day and night as different monsters spawn.. I'm just letting you know since you mentioned you cleared all the places of interest and I dont' know if you where aware to clear this part you need to visit it at different times. As you know once you complete it.. it will gray out. Thanks for the tips thought I'd return the favor.
Jedi Gill Gaming Oh i see. I knew about the greying out, but i didn't know it was for that house too with day / night cycle. Good to know, thanks! :)
I really appreciated your video. Very helpful!
+Joseph Land I'm glad this video was helpful to you! :)
Finally a guide that actually helps me! Thanks dude.
Playing this in 2019!
Tnx for this video..its very helpfull. i hope you make more.
Ernest Ereno Thank you very much, i'm glad it was helpful to you! :3
Dante your assuring voice alone makes me feel like I can take on this whole game THANK YOU😭💗
U got this lmao
I love it when you mispronounce words.
ALIEN DRONE Well thank you i guess :'D
MutaJIN-Correct pronunciation FYI
Best witcher 3 guide on youtube!
One might even say I have a passion for fashion...
As a series noob, this video was very informative and well put together. Thanks for the help!
Realist2615 That's great, i'm glad it helped out! Thanks c:
I spend most of my time in this game lighting candles, torches and braziers...
i do the opposite :-p
regarding the bandit archers; there's a combat ability that let's you deflect bolts and arrows. Just equip it and hold L2 whenever there are archers, like the block, it never fails as long as you hold the button.
Rufuz Mitchell Absolutely, i just didn't adress it because even with that perk imo. you should still take them out first ^-^. While you are swinging they can still shoot you for example.
Dante & Holly ah yes, you are absolutely right about that! :)
Thanks man, helped alot, keep on butchering English ;)
elisorrirokk Glad it helped! ^-^. Of course c:
Lmfaoo!
Great video! Love the Witcher 3, looks amazing in 4k on Xbox one x, really brings everything to life!
You butchered the English language a bit 😆 but Nice guide though 😁👍.
Crafting is fantastic in this game. I'm only level 6 but I've explored so much that i found lots of crafting recipes for weapons and armor.
cloudbloom Crafting is fun, but not really needed for me atleast.
For example, if you go to a ruin and find a diagram for the griffin sword it will always be in that chest.
cloudbloom Ahh that's what i thought :3
There's way too much going on in this game. Feels like a chore to figure all this shit out. Fuck this.
Juan Quevedo hahaha i know the feeling. it's a lot to get used to and learn. takes hours to "get in the swing of things"
Juan Quevedo but its ridiculously worth it
Bud, wanna conversation? I'm about to pick it up again... Bought at the same time as you, taken three four hour stabs at it and had to put it down each time. The 'equiping skill' thing is what fk's me. I cant work it out, even with these tut's. Reply. Thx.
Juan Quevedo dam right this game is just too complicated for me i dunno
what's it like to be dumb?
I never knew about dropping loot and it would stay there forever. This will help me save so much space. I always thought items would disappear after you left the area, well thats how it is in some other games.
bankaiYYH Great! :)
That potion recharging thing was crucial. I never used potions because I didn't realize that they would replenish so easily.
Really helpful thanks man! Love your delivery too.
Get in the Lab That's great! Thank you very much :)
Dante & Holly I hope you do more tips and tricks videos for witcher :) there's so much to know!
Get in the Lab Unfortunately it's not really what our channel is about. I just like to do these videos now and then if i find the time :3
oh gotcha, yea understandable, anyway, i appreciate it all the same. :)
just bought the game over the winter steam sale. I've found that there are marked places on the map called "storage" in most major town centres including the first inn you go to where you can store items and the description says all the stored items can be accessed by using any other "storage" locations in the world. Did they add this feature in an update?
Yes, it didn't exist back then
Best video in this regard.
Al Ka meee . Awesome video bro! Super helpful. Just bought the game and it's insane. Thanks for the great start!
At the beginning of the game the viper swords are really good. They can be used up to around lvl 8 if you don't find better.
Maybe I sticked too hard to the quests / side quests so far and should go for all the question marks for now. Useful video, thanks!
Velios TV You should yes, because some side quests disappear if you progress to much. You're welcome! :)
Side quests on this game is just gold. I loveee it.
very helpful. the best witcher 3 guide I have seen on youtube
+jehk72 I'm glad you enjoyed this video, thanks! :). Holly tells me that all the time, I still fail at than & as :'D
Hey Dante, tks a lot for the tutorial, it was the only one that I found speaking about how to use the alcohest... it was driving me crazy to find it out... great job, I have played for around 20+ hours and had found out about it or the tip for defending as you perform other options....
+Joao Ferraz You're welcome! :)
ps regarding the sword use that auto picks ye that only happens if you have the manual sheathing off!, if u have it on it doesnt get the right sword out etc by default its d-pad left for steel n right for silver i think might be wrong hehe
