I did this Mountain last weekend, wild camped and swam by the Lake, it is classed as a hard climb for good reason, so quite a few people struggle without even carrying back packs, someone died the week before, the Welsh legend is that if you sleep up there you will die, go mad, or become a Poet, if the weather closes in, I wouldn't go up the top.
Congratulations on your summit success of Cader Idris On this attempt mid summer it wasn’t going to be (the wise choice then and in hindsight 🙏🏼) Lucky a few weeks later we where blessed to return and we summited after a wild camp ⛺️ the weather was bad that day too but the extra hight gain of the wild camp gave us the opportunity to summit 🤠👍🏔️🏴 Thanks so much for your comment Best regards Simon 🤠🙏🏼

Waited 11 days for a clear day to run up Cader last August, so it’s not that easy even in summer. I’ve been climbing and running that rock for 43 years and it’s a tough one. You made an excellent call for your hiking party, well done.

It’s a beautiful part of Snowdonia and well worth the effort but a good slog as your start the trail head very low! But on a fair weather day a good climb but as you say it can get very real any time (this was filmed in August) but you’ll love it a feb place 👍🙏🏼 best wishes Simon 👍🙏🏼

Overall a good decision I'd say. Got stuck on top of Parkhouse Hill (which is considerably lower) and it wasn't fun. Great video
Thanks Dan 👍 yes some times an clean pair of heels is the better part of valour. My wife was tired and the weather not the best. Always a downer though 😔but as you know in the mountains there’s no guarantee of an summit

Better luck next time. It is always best to ensure that there is a next time. When you have put in so much effort and are so close it can be difficult to do the sensible thing. Cadair Idris is not going anywhere soon! Have a great week.
