Lal Nath Temple Jhang City | Lal Nath Mandirلال ناتھ مندر |मंदार बावा नाथ झंग सिटी पंजाब, पाकिस्तान!
A Trident (एक त्रिशूल ek trishool ) is fixed on the top of the peak, saying it a Shiv Temple.
One of the oldest and historical place of old jhang city named as Bawa Lal Nath Mandir or Nathdawara.most of its part was demolished by govt in 90s sectarian chaos. Its main door is preserved in lahore museum. Jhang city was a walled city with four gates. Once it was home to a heterogeneous society where Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs were living peacefully. These historical worship places are evidence of that tolerance.
On the four sides of the tower, we find sculptures of various Hindu characters and signs. The sculptures at lower side have got damaged/faded with the passage of time, but the figures on higher side are in good condition. The lower dome of the main structure is plastered inside, while the interior of the upper dome is yet bricked. A Trident is fixed on the top of the peak, saying it a Shiv Temple.
Location of Laal Nath Temple
The Laal Nath Temple is located inside central & dense populated area of Jhang City (old city of Jhang). It was a business hub of the city also. After independence, Mandi (Fruit, Vegetable & Grain Market) was established in this area, which exists for long time until shifted out of city.
The Nath cult is one of the oldest cults in India. They mostly follow Shavisam. They have established their hermitage known as a ‘math’ or an ‘akhada’.To achieve the highest degree of enlightenment, they practice long and difficult penance. So, Lal Nath was on the toppers in the list of Sidhs.

I have watched this video of yours many a times since you have uploaded it. Thank you very much for your efforts.
My parents and their forefathers belong to Jhang city. How I wish this temple was in a better condition….well I know it’s expecting too much! I had shown it to my father and he got nostalgic as he used to pass this temple daily in the evening while going to Arya samaj for his Vedic studies when he was eight years old before partition. Both his grandfathers had multiple shops in this market. The elders in the family would never talk about their lives there so that they could heal but they couldn’t erase the memories even of young kids then who still at this age of 83 and above still have vivid memories of their homes and still know where exactly there homes were located. Its become a painful history for us and all we can seek is forgiveness from our ancestors for the shameful decision of then politicians for chopping of Bharat mata to pieces.
