Thandiani reminds me the era of 1962. I am in Michigan USA, retired GM research Engineer, 80 years old. I was visiting a friend in Abbottabad by Firdous Cinema. One day he decided to take me to Thandiani. When her mother heard it, she went hysterical and said you not going there. This place was so dangerous. Tigers would tear you apart. My friend was laughing and telling his mom that he had arranged to go with a friend who was local. So I convinced him to listen to his mother. I have very fond memory of Abbottabad surroundings. I wanted to live there but after I retired in 2005, my siblings took my homes in Peshawar City. The name of my friend is Aurangzeb and his mother was called Bay-Jee. I even worked for chief Conservator of Forests, Peshawar Region, Peshawar, Abbottabad Circle was under our jurisdiction. I could live in guest houses in the Region . Abbottabad changed a lot. I can't locate Office of the Conservator of Forests, Abbottabad Circle in videos. I wanted to live in Pakistan after retirement and based on my knowledge I wanted to help Pakistan. But it didn't happen because of my greedy siblings. If anybody know me, please write me back adpatan@aol.com I would love to hair from you. Thanks. Aaaah GTS was the major transportation.
