      Such great instruction . Simple and effective. I finally feel balanced in my swing and take it away on plane.

    You guys are awesome. I'm just learning how to golf and from the instruction I've received so far I'm only at the L to L stage. However, everything I've been taught so far is such a caricature that I don't know what I'm supposed to look like. When I watch videos of my swing I look like an old man. The gears stuff that you have is amazing and does the best job explaining how it's supposed to look!

    As a tall golfer, I tend to do the squat thing to feel more athletic and balanced, but pretty soon I am chunking left or dropping too steep because I cannot clear my hips. Love the set up keys. I could almost send my winter just retraining this! Thank you gentlemen!

    Great video. So many players including myself try fixing our issues without addressing essential setup fundamentals to the swing.
    My big set up mistake is squatting and pushing my hips to far out, making it almost impossible to hold my angles when starting the downswing.
    Thank you AMG for the hardwork and effort you put into your lessons.

    Awesome stuff - setup is so critical; clearly i personally need to work on center of spine over ankles - i now see the clear reason for my early extension

    AMG is a model of clarity. Clearing up so many issues here. Could you go into set up with wedges and shorter irons please? Finding neutral on a long iron is easier than with a steeper angled GW or sand iron. And you have to get lower!

    • @AthleticMotionGolf
      @AthleticMotionGolf  4 года назад

      From which perspective are you asking about, DTL or FO?

    • @petergregory7199
      @petergregory7199 4 года назад

      Golf is a 3d game so both I guess! I'm fine with 'Manzanello neutral', holding the club face up etc, but what if the club is a wedge? Then you break your wrist to hold the face skywards! There is a solution and AMG will have it is my bet.

      @@petergregory7199 Why are you breaking your wrists to hold the face skywards?

    Great channel guys. Watch all your videos.
    You talk a lot about what the best players do, but is that really relevant to the average amateur who doesn't have time to practice or play much...wouldn't we be more consistent with simpler moves? As an example my most consistent golf is when I play with extended arms like Moe Norman because it is less dependent on timining and only a single PGA Tour pro is doing something similar...

    • @AthleticMotionGolf
      @AthleticMotionGolf  5 лет назад +4

      Good question. I would argue by looking at what the best are doing, we're showing you the simplest way to swing. A typical amateur swing is way more complex, complicated, and timing-dependent. If the Moe Norman style swing works best for you, don't stop doing it! But it isn't simpler or easier to do for most golfers. If it was, you'd see more pros doing it than one.

    One thing I've read before about distance from the ball is setting the club behind the ball and let the grip drop and hit your leg right above the knee. If it hits too high up on your leg, you are too close, too low and you are too far. Thoughts? It isn't always easy to determine if your arms are directly below your should on the course.

      There are a number of little hacks like that that'll work. The key is to recognize your tendency because that's what will most likely show up under the gun😉

    Love the content gents. If you could address early extension through the downswing in one of your videos, I’d really appreciate it. I have an issue with getting my backswing over extending past my wrists and forearms (long irons-dr.) which then leads to me coming steep through impact and my hips seeming to extend early and not rotate properly through which then causes a chicken wing and ugly release. This is with 120mph head speed so I suffer with consistency. I’ll get into a groove because I’m athletic but my misses are costing me big strokes. Cheers guys!

    Distance from ball at setup. I get letting go with the right arm going straight back with irons. Does the same check point apply to driver and hybrids?
    Thanks

    When determining were you grip the club isn’t it important to determine if the ground is level first.
    If you are on hill and the ball is higher won’t this setup method not workout?

    The " Squeeze it like a vice grip" to the left hand is the perfect analogy. I used to apply 0 pressure to the left grip, so when my right hand came in it would throw off my whole posture. It all got fixed with a good left hand squeeze. Cheers

      A good rule of thumb is to slide your fingers down your thighs until you can touch the tops of your knees.

    I think Distance from the Ball is a bit over-simplified because the ball isn’t already there in your example. When the ball is in a fixed position and you have to build your stance around it, it’s a much more complicated process-for me anyway.

    This is one that I think was a little exaggerated. I don't see many, if any, golfers that are all twisted at address, like you were showing.
