Stuart Scott, David Stern, and Bill Russell, all legends of the promotion of the NBA and gone from us in the year 2022. Thinking back to this year makes me remember some of my fondest memories in sports history.

One thing I noticed is none of the guys who left Mavs after the championship ever actually played that great. Barea stayed and look at how well he played.
Exactly the guy I was thinking of! He definitely doesn't know how to be a good sport. Dude literally knocked the wind out of Jeremy Lin this past season and he was like "I didn't do anything." To be honest though, I am glad he isn't playing with Mavs. He would only ruin our reputation.

I've watched him ever since he first came to the Mavs and have been rooting for them ever since. To see all the hard work and disappointments over the years was really difficult for him to experience, and for me to witness. But to see him continue to persevere each season has inspired me on a personal level. Congratulations Dirk! You deserve it more than anyone else!

He had no Scottie Pippin Dirk only didn't match Michael Jordan in Pts because he didn't shoot as often. his percentages were comparable from all ranges. He is one of the only 7 footers ever to shoot free throws well, and his 3pt game is phenomenal. Plus, Dirk had the Stockton-malone problem. He had been on that team for 12 years before winning the finals. I'd say that makes for some sweet victory. It's just like Michael Young in that year 2010-2011. -- Ranger for a decade and didn't win shit, then gets his team. Way to go Dirk!!!! Nobody deserved it more. #loyalty
Congrats to the Dirk, Kidd, Terry, Coach Carlisle and the Mavs franchise. Im a huge Heat fan, winning in 06 was amazing and it hurt to see us lose when we where so close. Wade was amazing all series and Lebron did let us down while his overly passive play. All that aside, Mavs deserved it more then us and it's nice to see Dirk get the respect he's deserved for so long. Im confident and think we (Heat) will come back much better next year
Dirk's performance in these playoffs was the best ever and nuff said. Jordan, Bird, Kobe, Duncan never went through Kobe, Durant and Westbrook, and Lebron and Dwayne Wade in a single run. It was nuts, and you had that feeling he was in complete control at times, something I havent seen since MJ. Dirk is a top 5 player easily or in a league of his own in his own right. Mavs totally made the NBA good again with team play coupled with a real closer.
Plain and simple I can't see why so many people won't give the Mavs any credit. They made it past the best teams in the NBA without a single title under their belt. I have seen the Lakers and the Bulls win many times. Now I have seen Dallas win. They earned it!
