    While getting a degree in nursing many years ago I took a required Nutrition course. I'll never forget the professor making the statement when giving a lecture on water vs fat soluble vitamins that Americans had the most expensive urine in the world thanks to advertising. Thanks for the reminder Dr Dray.

      I was taught that in my very semester in my psychology class 13 years ago. Our instructor was always getting sidetracked and telling us things like that, but I always appreciated the random facts. Many people disagreed on that one in particular lol

    Happy Tuesday! I have to admit that I purchased Biotin in the Gummy version when I noticed hair thinning. But I did not stick to it and my hair did return. However, it is so easy to manipulate a population due to fear. So helpful when you share the facts with us.

      Yes, governments use the Fear factor too, because they know fear is a great motivator. Big Pharmaceuticals do this. Dr John Campbell, out of the UK has videos on RUclips. He got studies that said those masks that they made us all wear, were found to not protect anyone against getting the virus. Yet, the US media never reported on this.

    Thank you for another super-useful video! If you retain nothing else from this video, the top tip is this--make sure ALL your doctors know ALL the medications you're taking and why--whether they're prescription, over-the-counter, or dietary supplements. A lot of people get tired of filling out all the forms at the doctor's office and skip listing their OTC meds (including minoxidil or Rogaine!) and vitamins. You might not think to tell your gastroenterologist about a topical foam you're putting on your face or scalp, but they can have an effect on both your body and your diagnosis.

    “Just make sure you know what your problem is”. Great advice. I’ve had scalp (thus hair issues) for 20 years. I have a dermatologist and he only prescribes soothing meds. No tests, no cure suggestions. He’s not unusual as the prior dermatologist did the same. Doctors are sometimes useless and my heart goes out to people who search for advice from others. My Primary doctor only ever says “ you’re as healthy as a 40 yr old”. So demeaning, I worked hard to be 75 and perfectly happy being 75. (I have brittle bones). My respect for Physicans has tanked. I sympathize with folk that try to help themselves. Be careful folks!

      M guess is that it’s great marketing and package design for products you can source much more reasonably from other manufacturers. All of those “fuck! My hair is thinning!” supplements and most products (not minoxidil, obviously) are way overpriced and often unnecessary. Slick marketing, capitalizing on this misery. Kinda sleazy, imo.

    I used biotin on and off for a few years. I have bleached hair, and my natural colour is almost black. Whenever I take biotin for a few months, my hair starts growing like crazy. Because I have bleached hair, I can easily measure my roots and by doing so my growth. Whenever I take biotin, my hair grows about 3,5 cm a month (almost 1,5 inch). Whenever I don't take biotin, it slows down to about 2 cm (0,7 inch). My diet and hormones would be very stable, so that shouldnt affect it.
    So my hair absolutely loves it! The only problem is is that I get acne from biotin, which is why I stopped taking it.

    Hello Doctor Andrea how are you ? (Hope well, strong and super possitive as always 😊❤🎉). Today's video really shook me because when i visited my derm when i first had telogen effluvium which now is resolved by following his treatment but the thing i want to talk about is that he did recommended an optional supplement for me but i didn't take because it had iron, zinc,selenium and vitamin e and got scared i did ask him if it was safe and he reassured me it is safe but he did not support his option for supplement intake (like you Doctor 😊❤.). Thank you so much for the valuable information i truly do thank you from the bottom of my heart.😊

      @@21972012145525 Extreme stress my friend was the cause (my grandma was diagnosed with dementia and she started going out of her house and had to look for her) and it resolved with minoxidil 5% and a hair spray tonic combined together by my derm (the combined instruction was from my derm my pharmacist combined them together). Anyway mine it wasn't severe case so it healed up quite quickly 6 months in total.

    Hi Andrea :)
    What are you thoughts on the EU ban on retinol?
    Is it a problem to use a retinol on the body in terms of vitamin a toxicity?
    What would you suggest we Europeans use for smooth skin on the body instead?

    How are these supplements legal? There need to be more regulations around this.

    • @db-gb5xi
      @db-gb5xi Год назад +2

      Because they don't fall under any law that would give the FDA regulation over them.

    Okay so what about the fact that naturally curlier and thicker hair types should benefit from hair supplements to speed up hair growth and achieve longer hair in shorter time? Its pretty obvious to me that thicker hair needs more protein and nutrients to grow a larger diameter of hair strand compared to thin hair, thus taking hair supplements should speed up hair growth in thicker hair. What's your opinion doc?

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  Год назад +4

      people with curly hair do not have a higher protein need compared to those without curly hair, nor do they have specific nutrient requirements because of their hair

    Please don’t supplement anything without being certain you need it and being monitored, guys!
