  • We believe in healthy families, which also means preventing children from ever entering the foster care system. How do we do this? We have a passionate and skilled team of professionals dedicated to working closely with families whose children are at imminent risk of removal from their family. Our Intensive Family Preservation (IFPS) specialists spend at least 10 hours per week doing one-on-one work with their families for 28 days to provide a deeper view of the family as a whole.
Today’s story highlights Taren, a former client who worked closely with CHS through our IFPS program. This story describes the concern and fears Taren faced when her children became at risk of out-of-home placement, and later the joy she felt when her children were no longer at risk. You will hear from CHS specialists Freddie Page and Renee Wilson who describe more in-depth about our IFPS work as a preventative measure to keep children from ever entering foster care. Sometimes, families just need some help and CHS is here - and your support can make a difference in the life of a child and a family.
99% of our IFPS families are still intact at case closure, and 94% remain together after one year.
