I am Christian and had a random strange urge to want to start wearing a head covering. This felt like a craving honestly. And this is not the first time God has communicated to me in this way. So I felt like this was God communicating with me and trying to tell me something, and so I went into my Bible to look it up and looked at a few different scriptures to find consistency for charity. I then came to the realizations that YES! as Christian women, we are supposed to be modest and cover our head during prayer, prophecy and when married. Now in the year 2024, the Christian faith and the churches have been so watered down and luke warm that we lost sight of God's true word. We avoid it even! I've come to realize and learn that even pastor's intentionally avoid scriptures in the Bible because they don't want to steer their church members away, instead of being honest and true to God word. I really sat and thought about it and also realized God wants women to wear a head covering for her protection. To protection her from lustful men, from being Ingolfed in ones own vanity and need for external attention that can lead us to sin, and protection from the enemy influencing our minds and thoughts while praying and prophesying.
This comment hits home. I’ve been experiencing this same urge. What has really changed my perspective on my own faith walk is seeing myself and a couple of my friends consumed with appearances and vanity. It struck me how superficial and worldly that tendency is, and am currently doing a reset since the start of this year. I’d love to headcover more consistently, but the most consistency I’ve ever done is wear one for church- for the past 20 years. That’s never been hard, but my goodness wearing one daily is. Moral support can be hard to find sadly. Working on strengthening my faith and relationship with God to combat the enemy and my own pride.
May I ask if it refers to prayer alone also? Or is it prayer and prophecy in public? And where can I find in the bible that we have to cover the head when we are married? Thank you! I am new to this.
Hi friend! There is nothing that specifically says we must cover when we are married. There's no direct command from God that we have to cover at all. This is a teaching from Paul (with good reasons!) and I believe it came based on what the Hebrew culture did --- a regular practice of head covering, specifically for married women. Orthodox Jewish women today cover after they are married, so I'm not sure how far back this tradition goes. The passage in 1 Corinthians 11 seems to suggest that Paul was mainly referring to public prayer and corporate worship. My own opinion is that because we don't see this instruction given directly by God in His set of instructions to us (found in Genesis through Deuteronomy) that it was a practice Paul advocated to help believing women be set apart and to remind them of their covenant with YHWH (and the covenant with their husbands for married women). I have a play list on this channel with several videos regarding the practice and practicalities of head covering. Let me know if you need help finding it. Shalom!
Yes! God wants to protect me, I have found this to be soo true😭😭😭 Please pray the Lord provides a way for me to get some cute head coverings that I can wear anywhere. I only have hats to wear in public right now😩
I never comment on videos. But I wanted to say thank you for this video. It’s never easy putting yourself out there in general and the comments don’t make it easier. You have been very respectful and kind to each individuals walk. My mom covered for years and years as we grew up and she said it was her own personal conviction. And the reminding of it daily that submission really helped her growth. Hearing conviction and walking in that is so honorable even if it’s just period of time!
I covered my head when I was first saved until I heard the Holy Spirit say "Your crown has been restored". Recently I have been starting a new project and I have been very discouraged and tempted to give in to the negative voices in my head. RUclips kept throwing up headcovering videos so I prayed about it, and my son interrupted my prayer time by waltzing in with a handkerchief over his head. Itwas the answer to prayer I was looking for. As soon as i started covering my head again I got an amazing clarity of thought and calm during prayer. I don't think everyone necessarily needs to cover their heads, but if you struggle with persistent negative voices, I would recommend it. It's like wearing a demon-proof hat all the time. It's so quiet in my head!
I love your testimony, sister! I'm actually putting together a compilation of head covering testimonies to be published in a book. If you're interested in writing a testimony to be included, email me at sarah @ torahledhomestead (dot) com by May 31 and I'll give you the info to contribute.
Thanks for the video. I will share my head covering testimony too. I dreamt and I was taught how to tie a scarf. When I woke up, I opened RUclips for my devotional and voila I saw wrapunzel video for the first time. The same morning, I opened my Instagram page and the First thing I saw was a page where they sell veils. This was almost 5years ago. I covered and stopped covering 3years ago until last year when I had encounter with God again and I picked up my head covering again. I stopped again last year and this year I have another encounter. Now I have been covering for about 3months. God is awesome.
I have started to wear a head covering since January and I have been feeling a protection of angel. And I found myself liking it. It reminds me where I am standing and helping me watch my mouth and behavior. I also feel I am praying all day long and I want to pray all the time. I have been treated well by stranger men but not by (liberal) women who often react negatively and look at me with angry eyes. I don't judge them but they probably feel I am challenging them. I am not challenging their way of living but just living my life. They treats me as if I am a weird alien from another planet that they seem to feel fear. We all have a right to live according to our conviction and belief. They have right to live in a way they like and do do I.
A woman is commanded to cover her head when praying and prophesying and the man is commanded to remove anything that covers his head. It's not about what Paul did in 'his churches', it is for all of the churches.
Paul can't make up new commands, just like we can't today. But, just like people today, he can provide good examples and give good advice--- and we have the freedom to choose whether to follow those examples or advice. Shalom.
@@HopeCottage_Sarah Paul spoke by God's authority. God chose him as the apostle to the Gentiles. When it was not a command from God, Paul said so. Wearing a head covering is a command, it's not an option. If it were an option, there would be no need to say anything at all. The head covering symbolizes that the man is the head of the woman and lack of head covering for the man, that Christ is his head. It is because of the reverent, holy angels of God who watch us when we gather to worship. It is unseemly for a woman to pray to God uncovered.
Yes, so true. But he was speaking to the Corinthians in ancient times. He wasn’t speaking to 21st century Americans. Today he might tell us to turn our phones off and spot drinking coffee in the sanctuary. Those behaviors are disrespectful today.
@@jmo4521 Paul is speaking to women and men and appeals to nature, it's not just a command for the Corinthians. He also teaches that we have no such custom of contention in any of the churches of God. Making it clear that anyone who teaches against the head covering is in the wrong.
@jmo 21st century men are still expected to remove any headcovering in church/during prayer. The fact that feminists deliberately set out to take this out of churches as a statement that we AREN'T under our husband's authority is what really gets me. I haven't started covering, but this issue has been heavy on my heart.
I started covering back many years ago before I came to Torah. I had a friend in the church we attended who also covered. I eventually took it on, but not because I believed we were commanded. I believe the church he was speaking to at the time had a huge issue with women who were usurping the order of submission. I have covered off and on and purchased a lot of head scarves and such for my hair, but I have to say, I don't look nearly as cute as you do in one. LOL
When I was a young adult in the early 60s, I had rejected religion, and the Bible. But sometimes I would drop into a local Roman Catholic Cathedral. Just because of its grandeur and beauty inside. I would cover my head there. But then I was told that both protestants and Catholics no longer required for women’s heads to be covered before entering a church. It was a strange thing to me that when I heard that the rules had been changed, I felt this conviction, strongly, that the change was wrong. That was very odd since I really didn’t care one way or another. Years later I did finally come to the Lord, eventually to Hebrew Roots. Though I never met anyone personally, who ever even thought about head coverings, anywhere, including with Hebrew Roots, online I did see that some HR women were promoting head coverings. This was an excellent analysis of the topic and helpful to my understanding. Most important to me, though, is that I know I need to follow that conviction given to me by the Almighty, even if it took me decades to catch on.
I started head covering in church 8 years ago. I was often the only one. My sense of it was that it is about modesty and modesty is about respect. As soon as I put the scarf over my head I feel peace.
...because the hair instead of a covering hath been given to her... In your own selves judge ye; is it seemly for a woman uncovered to pray to God? doth not even nature itself teach you, that if a man indeed have long hair, a dishonour it is to him? and a woman, if she have long hair, a glory it is to her, because the hair instead of a covering hath been given to her;... -Young's Literal Translation (YLT) Does even nature itself not teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him, but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? For her hair is given to her as a covering. -NASB A woman's long hair is the 'covering'. If a fabric covering is actually required, then all references to hair are totally irrelevant to the subject. It only can make sense if the long hair of a woman is the 'covering'. She should be covered, with her long hair. To have short hair, like a man, means that she is basically bald. Therefore uncovered.
@user-iz8np3vv4i Thank you for bringing to light something that most have been ignoring on this topic. If Scripture is true then how can we side step this truth. PS only Jesus is able to bring us peace not a piece of cloth. Blessings.
I think you put this topic perfect perspective. I love the fact that other women young and old are being led to be obedient. I, too, struggled with this, the mean comments, the weird looks, but God is making away for me to witness to others. Stay obedient little sister! Many blessings apone you.❤
Thank you for sharing your story. You are correct in women being convicted. I didn’t even know Christian women practiced head covering when I prayed for God to help me with my pride/control issues and learn to let Him lead and my husband be more of a decision maker. Holy Spirit immediately showed me 1 Corinthians 11, which I had never read. Then for 2 months everything I searched online, be it a recipe, homeschool video, homeopathic medicine, or cleaning routine, all had head covering content creators. Yes, my pride and control sins were so strong it took 2 months of daily reminders for me to attempt wearing my first covering. It was freeing! The symbolism was a great reminder that I don’t have to be the “head.” I can ask for help. I also notice that when I wear one to bed, specially due to prayer sessions, I don’t remember having demonic dreams. I also feel more confident in my appearance and love that the wind is no longer bothering me (I despise the wind blowing my hair around and my boys and I are outside a lot between homeschool lessons). Also, thanks for sharing the links for purchasing head coverings. I’m saving them for my next clothing haul.

Just starting on head covering but I do cover most of my hair all but the front of my hair it saved my hair and I love it as well my kids think it’s so pretty when I do it and I felt led to do it as well both my girls Want to do it as well
I would like to add my two cents here after reading this discussion. First of all I believe we should follow the teaching in 1st Corinthians 11. The main problem here is the misunderstanding of 1st Corinthians 11 altogether. I also have made an intense study of this passage, and the obvious conclusion is that Paul was referring to long hair being the covering. The first thing one should take notice is the lack of wording required to conclude that a veil is being referred to here. The word veil or cloth is not in the text if we read from the King James version. If you read from the “modern” versions then you might get that view but not from the Textus Receptus. I would like for you to reread the verses that allegedly refer to a veil which is 4-7 and 13. In those verses we read the words, cover, uncovered and not covered. According to scholars these are used as adverbs. Like if you were to say I am going to cover my feet. No one should be thinking of a veil just the action of being covered. What is missing in these verses are nouns that would prove the idea of veils. Since we should not be assuming anything we should be asking the question what is the thing that a woman should be covered WITH based on the passage ALONE? So if you do the math you would find that Paul refers to hair directly 3 times and then indirectly 4 times with the words shorn and shaven. So if there is no noun for the word veil or cloth yet there are 7 instances of idea of hair, then what are we to conclude? That Paul is referring to hair whether it be short or long. But the counterargument would be that Paul is allegedly telling women to put something on. But that is not exactly true it says a woman should be covered, but he is referring to long hair based on the surrounding verses. But what about that a woman ought to be covered when praying or prophesying? The assumption is a that Paul was referring to only two instances which is not true he was merely giving us two examples. This also applies to men about being uncovered. Evidence of this is written in the forgoing verses. Paul writes that men ought not to cover because he is the image and glory of God. And then Paul goes into how woman was made for man and is the glory of the man. So it would seem that man shouldn’t be covered at any time if he is the glory and image of God. Paul also mentions that the mere observation of a praying woman should make us note how uncomely (unappealing in appearance) for a woman to be uncovered. Paul states this in a way that it should be obvious to anyone that she looks off in verse 13. He does this again in verse 14 about how shameful it looks if a man has long hair. He says it this way… Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? KJV So this judgement that we should make is exclusively based on observation of an “uncovered” woman as well as a long haired man. Two consecutive questions both appealing to something innate or within us. Paul is in essence saying that it should be obvious to see that something is wrong or off. So how is it that for the women we are somehow to know within us that a woman would be unappealing in appearance without a manufactured veil? That does not seem logical especially since the word veil is never mentioned. Unless that is not what Paul is meaning but rather that if the woman was not covered in long hair (meaning her hair is short) doing something holy or godly LIKE praying or prophesying. I think most people can relate that looking at a woman with short hair does have an unappealing appearance. It naturally provokes head turns. And if there was any question Paul flat out states what he was talking about in verse 15. So the facts are that there no nouns to use as evidence of a veil. There is evidence that Paul was using praying and prophesying as examples. Paul appeals to nature and something innate within us to judge that being uncovered or covered (meaning having short hair or long hair) should be obvious to all. So this cannot make sense with a manufactured veil.
I recently started wearing a head covering & I agree that it shows submission to the Lord & the church. I also love that by covering my "glory" (hair), all attention goes to God & His glory. I actually do believe it is a command because all scripture is God breathed. None of the reasons that Paul gives in scripture are cultural & in history most Christian women wore coverings. Women fell away from wearing head coverings due to the feminist movement in the 60s. There was a specific movement against it.
@@wendymtzc Actually the Greek word used to describe a head covering is specific to a external covering - see below: Verse four of 1 Corinthians 11 uses the Greek words kata kephalēs (κατάIn κεφαλῆς) for "head covered", the same Greek words used in Esther 6:12[229] (Septuagint) where "because he [Haman] had been humiliated, he headed home, draping an external covering over his head" (additionally certain manuscripts of the Septuagint in Esther 6:12 use the Greek words κατακεκαλυμμένος κεφαλήν, which is the "perfect passive participle of the key verb used in 1 Corinthians 11:6 and 7 for both a man's and a woman's covering his or her head [κατακαλύπτω]") - facts that New Testament scholar Rajesh Gandhi states makes it clear that the passage enjoins the wearing of a cloth veil by Christian women.
@@melissabrown3976 doesn’t kata mean head and kephales down? How does it turn into veil, hair makes just as much sense, I’m not a Greek expert and I highly doubt you are so let’s not pretend we understand all the nuances of a completely unknown language, if we were supposed to wear a veil we would have been given specific instructions to do it properly, yet that’s not what we see, some women hide every single strand of hair, others wear a tiny piece of cloth on top of their head… and let’s not forget other scriptures such as: in like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; but (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works… why worry about braided hair if it’s supposed to be covered anyway
@@wendymtzc You are right one cannot interpret the word "covered" as a veil or cloth etc. Often people will just turn to how some women wore veils in the past and with no other biblical evidence attach that here. What should be evident about long hair being the covering is the fact that hair is referred to in one way or another for a total of 7 times (hair 3x and shorn and shaven 4x) if one were to read the KJV. And at no time would you read anything that says cloth or hat or veil. It just refers to the action of covering the head and clearly long hair fits the mold.
I randomly came across your video. I think it's an interesting perspective. I think head covering is amazing for those who choose to do that. I know I've been interested. The closest I came around to head covering was a bandana similar to the way you are wearing yours. I use to wear bandanas all the time when I was a teen. Just not to church. Kind of afraid to do that.
Me too! I feel like I need to cover my head especially when I pray and no one asked me to do it, I just enjoy doing it 🥰❤️ Because Jesus is soo loving and I am His bride!
I appreciate your perspective. I'm glad I found your channel. I see that you believe in the whole Bible (I assume that means the Old Testament and New Testament?), and follow the Torah? I can't wait to check out your content. I've been wrestling with some things (like Shabbat and Jewish holidays and why we don't observe any of them in most American churches) for a couple of years now.
Yes, I do believe in the whole Bible and follow Torah the best I can! You might enjoy my playlist called New to Torah. How exciting that you're looking into things. Let me know how I can encourage you and welcome to my channel!
Loved your perspective! Thank you for sharing!! I’ve been covering for nearly 3 months now and I can’t say I have some amazing testimony at least as of right now.. but because it is a conviction for me I wake up and put it on and dont think much else about it. My husband likes it so that’s always a plus!
Yes, that's wonderful! I think most of our walks of obedience are simple like that --- just simply walking out His commands and convictions because we love Him!
I used to headcover as a Baptist right before we became joined with the Mennonites and Amish. We were a part of them for around 4 years, and then when we came back to the Baptists, I didn't want to wear it at all. I was like, no more bondage for meeeeeee. But... I find myself reaching for it more and more lately. 💚
It is so personal and can be a very beautiful thing... but also a bondage, yes. I think that is partly why I struggle because I know it's not a "must" so I don't want to be "bound"... but then I remember that I actually felt a lot of peace sometimes when I was covering more regularly so... haha!
This is amazing to hear!!! I was Mennonite for 30 years, and when I left, I took it off, and for almost 10 years now, I haven't worn 1. Now I'm starting to feel convicted, not connected to being a Mennonite!
Thank you miss. You did a really good job in being thorough and honest. I’m sixty years old and just started head covering full time a few months ago. I love it and am led by GOD. I dress modest ( no pants) and I believe is pleasing to the LORD. GOD is my husband so I cover because I am under HIS authority and it’s a good symbol and reminder to act accordingly. GOD bless you sister and I will check out your other videos.
I had an encounter with yah two years ago during the feasts on covering my head as his bride then a lot of links to it ive been wearing one since, i actually feel spiritually naked without it on. Now everyone just thinks im jewish 🤦🏾♀️🙏
Yeah... it's hard to explain to people when we've had a personal experience like that! I'm actually putting together a compilation of head covering testimonies to be published in a book. If you're interested in writing a testimony to be included, email me at sarah @ torahledhomestead (dot) com by May 31 and I'll give you the info to contribute.
I just started 3weeks ago I believe Yah wanted tme to to honor my husband and the new writings we also keep His feasts and try to be obedient to His Torah thankyou ❤
This is the best explanation I’ve heard for this topic and I agree completely!! I would consider it because of personal conviction but I don’t see God Himself saying this, I don’t want to put everything on Paul, he says a lot of things that I don’t see God saying (not just Paul, happens a lot)
My hair just went down hill in my 60s!😭😭😭😭 I cried my eyes out. Then i learned hijab from YT hijabis. The muslim way is the gold standard for full coverage headcovering. Then a little side trip to the Israeli side, where i settled into a long veiled tichel, commonly sold pretied, everywhere. Easily converted to full coverage hijab, or tied on top in hot weather. So, I didnt do it for religious, though traditions run very deep. Ive been under a scarf 4 years now, and my hair is growing back. Since i wear it full time, i feel uncomfortable without it. For summer, i use stretch lace. Yep, its great! Im doing my part to normalize scarf wearing again. Nobody cared in the 1950s. I say, scarf up! People get over it pretty quick, especially in your hometown. Sure, my dentist had a great time with his "terrorist" patient! And then everybody got over it. Yep, theyre bored. And YOU ARE FREE!!!
Been going through this conviction for two years I believe I should… However I have a Question even though it may not be a command from God but an encouragement from Paul then why is it that the women of the Old Testament were covered if God didn’t Command this ? because most churches follow what Paul teaches as commands so if we are to take what Paul Said about head covering as not a command then shouldn’t we view the rest of his writings in the same way ?
Hi! Yes, I believe Paul's encouragement to women to cover comes from the cultural practice of Jewish women to cover their heads. Again, never a command of God as far as we know --- but women were culturally doing this and Paul wanted to continue that within his churches. Regarding the way we should view Paul's writings --- yes, we should examine each of them and test them against what we know came straight from God's mouth. We can find God's instructions to us in the first five books of the Bible, but mainly starting about Exodus 12 through the end of Deuteronomy. If something Paul says (like women being silent in churches, or not teaching, or wearing coverings) can not be found in God's instructions, we know Paul is teaching something that is his own conviction. When we see that his teachings can be found in God's instructions, we know he is reiterating commands straight from God. Another reason why it is so great to be able to have all these instructions and teachings in one book --- we can reference the back to the front and vice versa. Hope this helps, friend!
@ oThankYou so much for explaining this to me as I have questioned paul from time to time but felt I was doubting God.Seems the church puts pails teachings above Gods teachings so thank you
@@All_Things_Made_New Unfortunately I do think that is the case. I've never seen Paul to be a false teacher. Everything he teaches seems to be either straight from God's words or things that are his own convictions. As long as we see Paul as a brother, a fellow human, we can reconcile his teachings with God's word. It's just like here on my channel --- I have things I prefer and so I encourage people to do them (homeschool if you can, avoid junk food, whatever...) but I will never say those are God's laws because they're not. Just good practices for some people... and, maybe not for others!
I first heard o it 16 years ago. I have always felt drawn to it. I go in and out of doing it because I get terrible headachss with most headcovering styles. But that draw is always there! I am returning to it after a break of about 18 months.
The head covering on the woman is an expression of the woman symbolically the church and the lack of covering on the man is symbolic of Christ. The covering and the non-covering in the genders is a picture of Christ and His church. It has nothing to do with the submission wife to the husband. The wife walks along with her husband as her leader but she is not under him, she is under Christ. No man should ever take the place of Christ in the believer's life, whether it be man or woman. The man leads by example and teaching not as an authority over. To be the authority over someone else the man would be taking the place of the Holy Spirit. Women are to submit to their husbands as we all are to submit to others in general, but only if those we submit to are submitting to Christ. We are never required to submit to anyone who is telling us to disobey Christ.
That's right. Covering your head as a female isn't a sign of submission to anyone but God. Transcends the abrahamic religions. Wear it proudly as Mary's contemporaries did! Nothing says you're a girl like a nice scarf. I wear mine full time. The shower was a joke. You know, "hijab and shoulders"? We can wear a scarf and have a sense of humor at the same time!
I understand there are different interpretations of this command. My Bible says, "speak to the children of Israel and tell them to make tassels." As a child of Israel, I do so. Others believe it's only for the men. We should all follow what the Father speaks to our hearts. Shalom!
2 Tim 3:16 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: It is a command by God, As Christians we must believe everything that is written and not to take it lightly :)
I agree, friend, that we should take nothing lightly. Our God has allowed this collected Bible to exist and teach us for good reasons! But we also must understand history and how our collected Bible came to be. At the time 2 Timothy was written, the only Scripture was the law and the prophets. The New Testament wasn't compiled yet. When Paul wrote these words to Timothy, he was referring to the law and the prophets. 🥰
Some women like to wear a headband, cap, hat or even a hair tie that contains the Ten Commandments in order to obey Deut. 6:8-9. Because it says it is for the children and not just men or women. It normally doesn't cover all the hair as Paul describes. Those coverings are come to be known as the armour of God. There are eight pieces that many are seaching for. There is the head, both hands, the belt, breastplate, heart and feet. Exactly what are they, what do they contain? Jesus tells us that if we love Him to keep His words for they are spirit and they are life, Maybe that is the spirit we are to walk in. We just need more work and workers.
@@HopeCottage_Sarah Here's another idea: If women should cover their head and the man is head of the women, why are women not covering their man's head? If we were to do as God says all His children should be covered doesn't mater, male or female. Deut. 6:8-9.
That’s what I always said too. Never felt convicted of it. Even felt turned off of it because of how I was raised. Fast forward to now, I’m going through some difficult things and struggling to let go of control and submit to God. Felt Him tugging on my heart to start covering. Just started doing it this week. We never know how God will work in us. ❤️
@@littlelouisa1990Never do it because of others unless you are personally led to do it and convicted. I personally refused to do it at first but The Holy Spirit was so patient with me and kept convicting me. I finally said yes and I can’t tell you how glad I am I obeyed. So so happy etc
We can be convicted by the Holy Spirit to do meaningful things that aren’t necessarily commands in the Bible. If it doesn’t contradict scripture then why do you have a problem with it? Head covering is mentioned in scripture as something that was done. It has been done throughout all of history. It’s only recently that it stopped. No one here is trying to force it on anyone. There is no need for anyone to take offense and “stand up” against this.
The Bible says that the Holy Spirit would confirm Jesus's teachings not someone else's interpretation. Plus putting on a hat is not a "meaningful thing" To claim that putting on a hat or veil is needful then it DOES contradict scripture. I also lament how people claim that Head covering (as a doctrine not as some random verse) is mentioned in scripture. Some people wore a head covering in the Bible and some people didn't. One can read about all sorts of things that were worn but it doesn't provide evidence that it was doctrinal. Same thing goes if several people wore something on their heads throughout all of history. The Bible says in Acts 7:47-51 many people though that temple building was acceptable but according to God's attitude it wasn't but YET the people did so anyway for centuries. So does the logic of many people following a doctrine or belief for a long time make it ok to continue in this?? It is irrelevant if women wearing hats only recently stopped, because if it cannot be proven through scripture then what does that matter? Though it may SEEM like no one is trying to force it on anyone, but there are always conversations that make one feel guilty or that they are missing out on something that is a form of MANIPULATION. So there is a NEED to take offense and “stand up” against this, especially if it CANNOT be biblically verified as a doctrine. In the end it is someone's interpretation that hat is necessary for women to wear.
@@HopeCottage_Sarah nope the bible is pretty blunt. “But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.” - 1 Corinthians 11:15 (KJV)
@@lynnh1682 yup, Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
@@lynnh1682 I don't agree that your hair is your covering. If so, does this mean that men should be bald because the Bible says their heads should not be covered? If you read that scripture replacing "cover her head" with "have hair", the text makes no sense.
Just a tiny nit to pick. Paul wrote "Anyone who claims to be a prophet or to have spiritual powers must recognize that what I am writing to you is a commandment of the Lord" in the same letter he wrote about the world wide practice in the Christian Church of women wearing veils. So to say that this was just a command of a man is not at all true. The fact that ALL the churches of God were doing it indicates that it predated Paul and may well have been instituted by Jesus Himself. We don't know but to say that the Scripture is just the words of man is extremely dangerous. We had communion this AM in church. Guess which passage was recited as we partook of the elements. If you guessed 1 Corinthians 11 you would be right. So in the first 15 verses of the 11th chapter were written by a man without inspiration and the last half of that chapter were written by a man inspired of God? Don't forget that same man also said that By Grace you are saved through faith not by works lest anyone boast. If his writings in 1 Cor are simply his words then we can not trust our salvation by Grace, When I was a young Christian I was the one convicted of my wife wearing a head covering and I had never even read 1 Corinthians yet.
I don't think it's wrong at all. For me, my headcovering is a sign of my covenant with God and my desire to be obedient to HIM. While it's important to me to be in alignment with my Godly husband, my covenant with God stands whether or not I have a relationship with my husband. If you want to wear a covering, go for it! Blessings, sister. Have a great night!
Absolutely not! In Jesus time, all women veiled. It was a status symbol that separated her from the help! In the middle east you will find the older women covered, even as their modern daughters are slaying out there. Common in a secular country like Turkey, and Egypt, where hijab is not mandatory.
@@wandah9468 i’m praying about it. I’ve consulted a few very close friends one who is full-blown, old-school apostolic Pentecostal. She says she has some books that she’s going to get to me to read about the head coverings. I don’t know why but I just feel like there’s a call to come back to those types of things, not an legalistic way, but in a true relationship way with Christ
When he wrote that "all Scripture is God breathed", the NT wasn't written yet. He could only have been speaking of the law and the prophets. I do believe God has "approved" of the NT or He wouldn't have allowed so many of us to build our faith on it, but I do think the actual word of God, through His prophets and through the words of Jesus, hold more weight than the words of Paul or other men. While Paul, etc. were definitely writing on the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and on what they knew from Scripture, they are still fallible men. It's no different than the work I do on this channel --- inspired by God, yes. But not His actual words. I think God uses covering for women and so He's fine with Paul's teaching on it, but I don't think even Paul meant for this to be taken as literal commands of God. He knew better than to add to God's law.
Paul was speaking to the Corinthians. His message applied to the culture of the time. He did not teach that future generations of women should do it. It doesn’t make sense in today’s society. What does make sense is the teaching behind the practice which is an attitude of submission and obedience. Shaved heads were for mourning. That custom is no longer practiced. The Corinthians did that. Should Christian women start shaving their heads too? Head covering today is a fad, but a fun one for today’s Christian women. It is like wearing a cross necklace. It is an expression of faith.
1 Corinthians 1:1-2 , 1 ¶ Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 2 ¶ Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: With all that in every place call upon the name. He is writing to us all. YAH is not different. He is the same. Just because our traditions change doesn’t mean He is changed. We are to be separate from the world. Spiritual Israel is for all of us.
@@FA-God-s-Words-Matter In all my studies on this subject, it never occurred to me that praying and prophesying were merely examples, rather than the only two conditions. Great thoughts --- thanks for sharing!
We have been set free from the law. Galatians is full of scripture about this. I, a Gentile, have no desire to become a Jew. Wearing a covering will not send you to hell. I just know there is a lot of bandwagons that people are jumping on in this day and age and that “thing” becomes popular and everyone is doing a video about it. A big one is trying to keep the law and basically become a Jew. The precious name of my God is Jesus and it irks me when people call him something else. This lady is probably a precious person but the Bible talks time and time again about being set free from such things. We are saved by grace, and it is a gift from God. We cannot establish our own righteousness. Been there. Tried to do that. Was set free. All of our righteousness is as filthy rags. Peace.
I'd encourage you to watch the series I've been putting out regarding the book of Galatians. You've made a lot of assumptions here about my faith and motivations. I think it's important we inform ourselves before we speak too freely.
Shalom!
The bible never mentioned mens lust when headcovering. That sounds very Islamic
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave me this encouragement! I truly appreciate it!
Thankyou sister Sarah. May YAH Bless
Yes the scripture says all woman , it's not based on feelings, urges or conviction
Praise the Lord and God bless you my sister @HopeCottage_Sarah. Please tell me how I can get this book. Thank you.
I’ve been studying the Jewish culture and I think the head coverings are pretty. I hope that it is a trend that picks up.
Not trend...
@@CrystalNeal-jq1et OK, wrong choice of words. But, I think you knew what I meant.
Amen 🩷🙏beautiful testimony
Yes! Good for you. This is an encouragement to me!
LOL
You're sweet. I still kind of feel like a dork but I really like this flowered one. haha!
That's a lovely testimony --- thank you for sharing!
@@HopeCottage_Sarah 🙂
I started head covering in church 8 years ago. I was often the only one. My sense of it was that it is about modesty and modesty is about respect. As soon as I put the scarf over my head I feel peace.
...because the hair instead of a covering hath been given to her...
In your own selves judge ye; is it seemly for a woman uncovered to pray to God? doth not even nature itself teach you, that if a man indeed have long hair, a dishonour it is to him? and a woman, if she have long hair, a glory it is to her, because the hair instead of a covering hath been given to her;...
-Young's Literal Translation (YLT)
Does even nature itself not teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him, but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? For her hair is given to her as a covering.
-NASB
A woman's long hair is the 'covering'.
If a fabric covering is actually required,
then all references to hair are
totally irrelevant to the subject.
It only can make sense if the
long hair of a woman is the 'covering'.
She should be covered, with her long hair.
To have short hair, like a man, means that
she is basically bald. Therefore uncovered.
@user-iz8np3vv4i Thank you for bringing to light something that most have been ignoring on this topic. If Scripture is true then how can we side step this truth. PS only Jesus is able to bring us peace not a piece of cloth. Blessings.
I was always the only one until just recently. It brings me peace, too!
I got convicted too! Back slidden a bit. Now I’m struggling to know whether dying my hair is a sin. As well as makeup.
I pray the Father clearly leads you in the way He wants you to go!
Headcovering for about 10 years ❤
I think you put this topic perfect perspective. I love the fact that other women young and old are being led to be obedient. I, too, struggled with this, the mean comments, the weird looks, but God is making away for me to witness to others. Stay obedient little sister! Many blessings apone you.❤
Thank you for the encouragement! Our strength comes from our obedience to Him --- He helps us along as we walk in covenant with Him. Shalom!

Just starting on head covering but I do cover most of my hair all but the front of my hair it saved my hair and I love it as well my kids think it’s so pretty when I do it and I felt led to do it as well both my girls
Want to do it as well
I would like to add my two cents here after reading this discussion.
He says it this way…
Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered? Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? KJV
So this judgement that we should make is exclusively based on observation of an “uncovered” woman as well as a long haired man.
Thank you for sharing your testimony, sister, Shalom!
Your hair is the covering
@@wendymtzc Actually the Greek word used to describe a head covering is specific to a external covering - see below:
Verse four of 1 Corinthians 11 uses the Greek words kata kephalēs (κατάIn κεφαλῆς) for "head covered", the same Greek words used in Esther 6:12[229] (Septuagint) where "because he [Haman] had been humiliated, he headed home, draping an external covering over his head" (additionally certain manuscripts of the Septuagint in Esther 6:12 use the Greek words κατακεκαλυμμένος κεφαλήν, which is the "perfect passive participle of the key verb used in 1 Corinthians 11:6 and 7 for both a man's and a woman's covering his or her head [κατακαλύπτω]") - facts that New Testament scholar Rajesh Gandhi states makes it clear that the passage enjoins the wearing of a cloth veil by Christian women.
GREAT video - I have been wearing them for years and your explanation is perfect.
It can be intimidating! I'd say just pray about it. Our Father is good to show us His ways when we ask Him. Shalom!
We should never be afraid to follow His commands. The nay-sayers just need to read their Bibles.
I cover my head while doing my daily devotionals because I choose to do so if I go out my head is covered 😊
❤ headcovering sister! Lovely to watch, thank you for sharing!
Thank you for the encouragement!
Do we always have to wear it? Or is it when we are praying? But what if I talk to God during the day, shall i wear it all day long?
I don't look at it as bondage but being obedient to the lord
I was thinking about this🤔
You are so strong. Holy leadership. Thank you Sister In Christ
I love your Etsy shop and I hope to order some more soon!
Thank you so much! 💙
Wonderful teaching and insight. Thank you!
Thank you!

I just started 3weeks ago I believe Yah wanted tme to to honor my husband and the new writings we also keep His feasts and try to be obedient to His Torah thankyou ❤
That's wonderful!
This is the best explanation I’ve heard for this topic and I agree completely!! I would consider it because of personal conviction but I don’t see God Himself saying this, I don’t want to put everything on Paul, he says a lot of things that I don’t see God saying (not just Paul, happens a lot)
My hair just went down hill in my 60s!😭😭😭😭
I cried my eyes out.
This is a great testimony!
I'm so sorry about your headaches!
Wrapunzel is where I get some of mine
Oh yes, I need to add them to the list. Thanks!
100% agree!
The tzitzit were specifically for the men as a reminder to them of the Torah covenant.
I understand there are different interpretations of this command. My Bible says, "speak to the children of Israel and tell them to make tassels." As a child of Israel, I do so. Others believe it's only for the men. We should all follow what the Father speaks to our hearts. Shalom!
2 Tim 3:16
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
It is a command by God, As Christians we must believe everything that is written and not to take it lightly :)
That's a neat idea to conceal God's word within a head covering.
@@HopeCottage_Sarah Here's another idea:
If women should cover their head and the man is head of the women, why are women not covering their man's head?
If we were to do as God says all His children should be covered doesn't mater, male or female. Deut. 6:8-9.
Never. I will never wear a head cover.
Stay true to your own personal convictions. I cover daily, but that's MY conviction, not yours.
Yes!
i love your bandana! you look lovely! God bless you my sister in Christ🙏📿✝🕊
The bible says that woman have there long hair as a covering. Not some piece of fabric.
It's definitely up for interpretation. Shalom!
@@HopeCottage_Sarah nope the bible is pretty blunt. “But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering.”
- 1 Corinthians 11:15 (KJV)
@@lynnh1682 yup, Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”
@@lynnh1682 I don't agree that your hair is your covering. If so, does this mean that men should be bald because the Bible says their heads should not be covered? If you read that scripture replacing "cover her head" with "have hair", the text makes no sense.
@@melissabrown3976 it says "long hair." Men are to have short hair because long hair for a guy is shameful.
Great message, but music is very distracting
What if a divorced and now single woman wants to wear a head covering? Is that wrong
Thank you ❤
I'm happy this blessed you!
isnt all scripture God breathed? then why wouldnt the NT hold the same water as OT?
1 Corinthians 1:1-2 , 1 ¶ Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
2 ¶ Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
With all that in every place call upon the name. He is writing to us all. YAH is not different. He is the same. Just because our traditions change doesn’t mean He is changed. We are to be separate from the world. Spiritual Israel is for all of us.
In point
Because they are starting to read their bibles
They are vanity, especially the lace ones.
YES it is. Women of God are to cover.
Women of God WERE to cover in ancient Corinth. Do you live in ancient Corinth? No. Our God put you here and now.
Easy. The Bible says so. We can't treat the Bible like a smorgasbord.
I think it's important we inform ourselves before we speak too freely.
going backwards is dumb
This is insane.
Looks basically like a hippie head scarf to hide dirty unkempt hair.
My head coverings actually keep my hair cleaner longer.
That's rude and unnecessary to even say.
