Love my bushwakka extreme 270. I did how ever buy extra legs so got all 6 (beware if you do have scrub bars as the one that flicks out to the front sits in between guard and scrub bar on dmax with tjm gear). I also went the HD brackets, alot better then the L bracket they come with and dont sit as high. I do wanna get the full wall kit but its a pain as havent been able to see them all setup which i thought you had them so got excited 😂 but you only got a couple but still good to see.
You can see 2:43 into your vid the back of the awning doesn’t fold out a complete 90 degrees and in-line with the back of your ute. There goes any rain protection at the back of your car.
Great video. I can't work out how most people time the setup and foldup of awnings and other things. We are on holidays so there is no hurry. Personally, I don't care how "freestanding" an awning is, I would always want one with poles and have some extended and tied down. Also I wonder if anyone has a comparison of who prefers Velcro or zips? Might be worth a pol, for us and the manufacturers?
Love your videos! One question, did you look at the bush company 270 awning? I’m tossing up between bushwakka and bush company. Big price difference and from my research possibly more strength in bush co?
Yeah, but see this as better value if comparing between only these two imho. At the end of the day all 'freestanding' awnings will need a couple poles if the wind gets up (and all will as soon as you add walls or in the rain)
Good stuff mate as always i just fitted mine this afternoon , really happy with it but mine have velcro insted of clip to hold the one pole. did you change them?
Hey mate, awesome set up. Looking doing something very similar with my BT-50. Does your 23 Zero RTT still sit fine and open up ok with the 270 awning mounted? Cheers, Sam
Yeah mate works great, just have to get the awning back enough so that it can open all the way around without touching the tent when deployed 👍 Great combo
Great video. Is it normal for the 270 to not line up completely with the back of the ute? If you were cooking on the tailgate and the rain was angling in you'd be in trouble yeah? Also I know it's for structure but I wish companies would start making these with no diagonal pole at the end so that people with lift up tailgates (I.e. Landcruiser) don't have to worry about the tailgate hitting the pole.
Hey Adam, tkx again for your vids. Wondering how much the tub moves in transit and off road? The cab roof rack fixture looks very solid and I suspect it may "work" the single rear bracket vigorously on corrugations.
Yeah there's a little movement, the rear bracket has a little give in it so it's been ok so far. Agree though, you couldn't want to super hard mount it between cab and canopy. (Speaking of canopy....)
Are the lights have a usb end also or just cigarette plug in? I’m returning my darche 270 as the bag was two small and overall wasn’t happy with the quality. A lot of people said this one was the best in the price range? The next option is pay an extra $1,000 and go with the bush company 270 xx max but they don’t have lights.
I sincerely hope thats not how you intend to permanently mount this awning. Mounting it on the tray and the main body is not a good idea and could wreck the awning due to tosional stress of the chassis between the cab and the tray.
Thanks for checking it out, you can see the rest of the Trip Ready Reviews here: ruclips.net/p/PLloptHW8MGGhKispUCQSn0i6Fh6DW_ul2
They are a brilliant awning, i brought the same one,, & yes I did change the brackets to a different brand.
Thanks Adam 👍

Just needs a scoot back a bit on the brackets is all
I just bought one. There's a sale at the moment. EOFY sale, they are now $300 off, selling at $1299. At Southern Adventure Gear in Derrimut Melbourne.
Awesome video as always.

Nice set up mate!
Has changed a bit since this vid in prep for the cape trip 😁

No I didn't, as it came, maybe they've changed the design?

Nah my fault, didn't realise until saw the drone footage, just needed to scoot the awning back 10cm or so and would go the full way
@@VideoShowMeHow ah sweet, I thought as much..cheers
G'day Adam, the wall kit you have leans out on an angle, where the kits for sale seem to hang vertical. Are there 2 different versions?
Hmm I'm unsure, I know there are different walls for the 180 awnings, maybe there's a difference there?
Looking great
Wow , your truck is so clean , do you go camping on the tarseal?
Haha not quite, it's gets dirty alright (checkout the recent Cape York series if you need proof 😁) just keep it tidy post trips

Just the cigarette end. Worth checking out the 23zero pro that's just come out also, this has better lights
So is this the same as the Taruca? I know that one is made by Bushwakka. whats the difference?
Taruca?
Hey mate just be careful to not mount things on both the cab and the tub bc they flex independently and could break ur awning.
Has all changed now, but yes agree. The bracket at the end I used at the time allowed for some flex 👍

@@Aphony66 agree, that's why I had a custom bracket at the rear attachment that enabled some movement 👍 Pretty different setup these days 😬
