Young Sheldon Season 04 Episode 18 : The Wild and Woolly World of Nonlinear Dynamics
Young Sheldon is an American comedy television series on CBS created by Chuck Lorre and Steven Molaro. The series is a spin-off prequel to The Big Bang Theory and begins with the character Sheldon Cooper at the age of nine, living with his family in East Texas and going to high school. Iain Armitage stars as young Sheldon, alongside Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Annie Potts. Jim Parsons, who portrays the adult Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, narrates the series and serves as an executive producer.
"Because you never bothered to ask." is one of the most heartbreaking lines I've ever heard.

I honestly feel bad for Missy. Mary sees something was wrong but didn’t bother to ask why Missy is upset and thinks that she can take care of everything. I wouldn’t blame George in this situation
@Christopher Bingham Exactly, all Mary needed to know was that Sheldon was upset. Her daughter crying in her room? Oh who cares about her! Mary just started screaming at Missy without even asking why Missy is upset. All Mary ever cares about is Sheldon. What a terrible mother.
@MicukoFelton you can clearly see how george is treating each one of his children equally, while marry only cares for sheldon. It affects him in a bad way when he grows up, he becomes a freak. If mary wasn't spoiling sheldon he would've grown up to be a functioning member of society
@Christopher Bingham Which Missy subsequently apologized to Sheldon for, once she had calmed down. And Mary subsequently admitted that George was right about her once SHE had calmed down.
Sheldon was told not to enter Missy's room by his father the fact is Sheldon stupidly kept pushing the issue when Missy was removing her poster's he was complaining about a particular Poster being removed since it's his daily routine to see the same poster on the wall every day. The fact hes academically smart and gifted yet he lacks any soical understanding. Hes worse than someone with Asperger's syndrome or high functioning Autism. At least people with those conditions understand boundries or they have a idea of boundaries when its clearly presented. Sheldon is high IQ Academically gifted attended high school at age 9 graduated at age 11 years old. Went to college part time at age 11 years old. Yet he keeps pushing peoples boundaries. And dosent even understand this aspect of human behavior and these behaviors are basic. It's not about being gifted it's not about having a high IQ. Yet he doesn't understand this. Dispite being so academically gifted.
@Christopher Bingham if anything Mary was the bad parent in this situation. George cares for all his children equally while Mary on the other hand only cares about sheldon and she doesn't care what problems missy is going through, if she had just listened to missy or George she would known that Sheldon was in the wrong and she lets Sheldon get away with every thing
I think that scene with Mary on the bed was foreshadowing Georgie taking care of his mother after George died
Damn this actually makes sense
George would've worked out a fair punishment for both Sheldon and Missy if Mary hadn't gotten involved.
And now the show becomes the drama Sheldon painted his family to be.

At least it isn't going the political correctness way, it's showing the story as Older Sheldon told with honest detail, and being nitty gritty

ill be honest and i might be unpopular when i say this: i side with george on this. Mary only seems to think she is is the only one who can do anything and treats George like he is a waste of space and doesnt know what he is doing half the time. A person can only take so much of that

@Thomas Jefferson When george died, the entire family devolved into a mess. Georgie had to step in himself to keep it together. And he does help with the more physical work. Didnt he help the pastor arrange his furniture and stuff?
Georgie is the only calm person in this and missy is upset and George is kinda in the right Sheldon and Mary are in the wrong

Pretty sad reading these comments of people who were clearly the Sheldon in their families. Meanwhile, people like me who were the Missy in their families understand why she would run away.

There is definitely miscommunication in the family but at the end of the day, they do care for each other.

Kinda wish this season had ended with a laugh. I need the humor. It's hard to smile these days and now the Cooper family seems to be falling apart. Now I have to worry until September. I really do ❤this show.

@Christopher Bingham nah I call bullshit. I have 3 daughters and you always get every side of the story and then decide how it's best to handle it. Her daughter was in absolute tears but the only thing she cared about was Sheldon being upset. She never even wondered what could be wrong with her daughter but went to detective mode on what was wrong with her son. Mary plays favorites and gets mad when people call her out on it.

Is it wrong that I’m just now realizing that there are two members of the Reba show now on this show. Am I missing anyone?
I like this show but she plays Mary to treat Sheldon like a little God! To the exclusion of her other children! Sheldon’s twin Missy is invisible to Mary. Missy is ignored in favor of Sheldon which just makes his siblings hate him more! It doesn’t seem how her mother played Mary in the Big Bang theory. Mary fawned over Sheldon in Big Bang theory but she also called him on his mess and certainly didn’t make Sheldon seem perfect and everyone else wrong. This Mary on young Sheldon is irritating!
In tbbt Sheldon and Mary portrays George as a dumpass when he’s the opposite he’s a pretty wise man and caring father. My prove the reason he told Sheldon why he was fired, the video of his speech that help motivate Sheldon years later, and this he may have a crap job Mary doesn’t respect him Connie doesn’t like him yet he tries to be a good father
So sad that after everything Georgie always did for her mother, she still calls him “dumb”

@@Based_normie i do think he will cheat on her, but in one of the episodes of the big bang theory(i cant remember what it's called) penny asked why Sheldon was felling down or what ever and Sheldon said when he was younger he caught his father in bed with another woman.
George deserves better
I hate mary and Sheldon for this. First Sheldon thinks that he’s the only one with problems in the house. It’s not just his room missy has a right to it also. Then Mary gets home sees that Sheldon is upset goes to missy sees that she’s upset but didn’t care to ask why. Mary is a bad mother and Sheldon is a bad brother

No wonder Sheldon remained such a spoiled brat into adulthood if Mary was always taking his side and enabling him. And she really wasn't being fair to George, undermining him the way she did.

This might be unpopular thing to say, but i dont think i can blame George for cheating on Mary. She is honestly a terrible mother and an even worse wife. I know we are not suppose to ever blame the person who was cheated on, but i definitely am. She is driving him to cheat. When you make someone feel so unappreciated, unloved, and worthless that they will succom to temptation in a moment of weakness, then i think you have no one to blame but yourself
Or you know, say, "hey I'm not happy, this isn't working out, we should separate " and leave...
@@eulyc.959the problem with that is that Mary is really religious that she basically has the Bible as a syllabus for her common sense. And since in the religion it says God doesn’t like divorces, she probably would’ve said “we aren’t, we’re staying together.”

I am going to make a misogynistic comment. Children who are loves by their mothers often struggle in their life like Sheldon. They are narcissistic and stubborn. This show only validates, of course there are exceptions.
Generally children with overbearing parents. Not only mothers.
They often see themselves as the center of the world, because that's what their parents make them feel like.
Still narcissism is totally different from what you mean. Narcissism is a psychological disorder whereas you rather describe egocentrism.
It’s seen in statistics that mothers are generally more over bearing than fathers. I am just pointing this out.
Of course there are exceptions but this is a general trend.

Not every Nobel winner suffers with establishment basic human relations with others.
Not caring for money when borrowing to others is few redeeming qualities of Sheldon. This is also the reason he could atleast make few friends.
He still got friends because others(even surprisingly penny) are extremely smart, with high IQ will either ignore Sheldon when it required or heaven large hearted to forgive him. With an attitude of narcissism, egoism and stubbornness you make very few friends in reality.
