Jordan Peterson is about to become the CS Lewis of our day. CS Lewis started out as an atheist who started out as a literature don at Oxford, and even as a Christian he struggled to understand, intellectually, the Bible, having read his books I would say he succeeded but that's a topic for a different video. In like manner, Jordan Peterson struggles, and I believe also successfully, with understanding the Bible from a psychological perspective which is very unique because most atheists, especially of the militant variety, don't often feel comfortable, I think, psychoanalyzing God or Jesus. I think they are uncomfortable because regardless of their position they know that one of the things psychoanalysis does is that it actually shows repeatedly that what one thinks of someone isn't exactly what they really are. So it's safer for them to treat the Bible as a fairy tale making any need for a committed serious analysis unnecessary. I always find this an interesting contradiction because these types of atheists are quick to judge and willing to accept any academic or scientific view that supports their view but the second even the inkling of a serious study of the Bible comes up and they immediately treat it the way folks in the medieval times treated heresy.
