Is there an easy way to learn to read music? I see L R but how can I learn what line of the staff means what? How do you know what you are playing R on or L on? I only have a practice pad at this point, until I learn more. Do you have a tutorial on how to read music for beginner drummers? Your a great teacher, so I think I’d be able to learn it from a tutorial from you

Hi Julie! Unfortunately I don't have a video on reading music currently. I should definitely make one. I'd be happy to go over it with you in a one-on-one lesson in the meantime if you'd like. There are also plenty of tutorials on RUclips as well.

Until you get your lesson it’s not too hard If referring to drum notation music, for now know the lower the line the lower the pitch instrument. Bottom line is kick, one line up is floor Tom. Except the exception is a Stepped not stick hi hat note is underneath the kick line.
